Ambience: Fairly small quarters, but the décor is done really well. I particularly like the brick wall. You can tell a lot of thought went into this place. 4.5÷5 Service: Both hostesses were excellent. Very quick, friendly, helpful. However the food was very slow. We were the first customers and waited 40 min to eat. 4⁄5 Food: I had the chicken Alfredo. It was delicious. The handmade noodles were perfectly thick, and the sauce was delicious. The chicken was charred perfectly, which added to the dish. 4.5÷5. My fiancé ordered the seabass. It was quite average. As she describes it «it tastes like it was just cooked, not that a chef prepared it special». The white rice was lacking something, and she said the corn tasted either frozen or from a can. The texture was off. I had a bite, and it tasted like something you throw together on a weekday when you don’t have time to make something awesome. 2⁄5 Overall it was a good meal, but the long wait and less than awesome seabass really brought my rating down. This place could easily be a 4 or 5 with the awesome service, great vibe, and handmade noodles.

This place is a must! Best Italian food in town. The pasta dishes are homemade, and yes you can really tell the difference. A nice selection of non-Italian dishes too. We came as a group of five and everyone raved about their dishes. Great selection of wines and beers. We tried the«Rosso di Toscana — Greo» and it was exquisite. Friendly and efficient staff. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. Plenty of off street parking so we didn’t have to worry about feeding the parking meters. Unassuming from the outside and casual on the inside. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Adamo’s has probably the best italian food I know of in Sacramento. The atmosphere is pretty casual and friendly but the food really does feel a lot fancier than the exterior of the restaurant suggests. Our waiter was super nice and gave us good recommendations. I tried the ravioli and the mussels and both were excellently seasoned and cooked. Their prices were also very reasonable considering the caliber of service and food they offer. I was also surprised how cheap the wine is. For each type of wine, there is a $ 5 option available. We also had the cookie monster for dessert, which is basically a fried ice cream sandwich. It’s something you must experience for yourself so get in there! All in all, I give Adamo’s 5 out of 5 cookie monsters!

We came out to Adamo’s as a Unilocal find during our friend’s bachelorette party. The bride to be requested Italian food and this is what we found. I’ll admit we had been drinking a bit and may have been a little goofier than our normal selves(and our normal selves are pretty goofy). However, the staff was really nice and attentive. We ordered wine(because bachelorettes have to drink!) pasta dishes and they allowed us to order a meatball sub off the lunch menu as a special request. We also got wings as an appetizer. Everything had amazing flavor! There were only a couple tweaks that could have made it even better. The wings were undercooked– not to the point where the chicken was not done– but they were not crispy like wings should be. Also the mussel dish was a little saltier than we would have liked, there was sausage that added extra salt flavor and the broth had more salty flavor. I needed to drink a lot of water after it, however it was worth it because it was very tasty! Toward the end of our dinner we got out«Dare Cards» because that’s what you do on an occasion like this and the waitress was nice enough to help us find someone to serenade the bride to be! Overall it was a great experience and if you’re looking for a hole in the wall place with awesome food I would look no further!

Came here on a Monday evening for an early dinner with my boyfriend. We were skeptical about the storefront, as it didn’t look too promising, being right next to a tattoo parlor and liquor store. Our doubts vanished upon seeing the interior, with the well-lit tables and modern wall artwork. It is overall a pretty small restaurant(about 10 tables and the bar), but luckily, we came when there weren’t many other customers and were seated right away. We asked for water and it took a few minutes for the waitress to bring it to us. Keep in mind that she was the ONLY waitress in the entire restaurant and was constantly going from table to table. My cup had a dead bug at the bottom and I asked her to replace it for me, which she gladly did. We ordered the meatballs and polenta, chicken pesto sandwich with a substituted side of sucio fries and the carbonara with added sausage(only an extra $ 2) and a side of salad. It was our first time trying polenta so we didn’t have any expectations, but the dish was definitely something I wouldn’t mind ordering again. The side of fries took up half the plate and was plenty for us to finish. These are pretty bomb and a nice twist on carne asada fries. The chicken wasn’t too dry and the pesto tasted fresh, but was a bit bland. The pasta was nice a creamy but not too cheesy and the homemade sausage and bacon really added flavor to the dish. Shout out to the vinaigrette for having the right amount of acidity to complement the greens, rather than covering up its texture and taste. Really great price for the portions and atmosphere, although the service was slow(–1 star).

Great family run small business. Service is fun and bubbly all the time. Pasta is all hand made and the Western Burger has BBQ sauce made from scratch with exceptional taste. Honestly think they have the best Burger in town. The bun, the pickles, and the pickled tomatos. OMG love!

Had never heard anything about this place but wanted to try something new. We were not disappointed! All of the food was great — we had the bolognese and the lasagna more importantly, though, the service was amazing! Best service we have gotten at a restaurant in a long time! We will definitely be back! The cookie Monster dessert was great too!

From the outside you probably won’t think much of this place and just keep walking; it’s next to a laundry mat and a tattoo parlor and they don’t have any seating outside, but if you venture in you will be pleasantly surprised. They have some items labelled gluten free on their menu so I thought that was pretty awesome of them and I guess they sometimes have buns from pushkins, although I usually just do lettuce instead of a GF bun if I’m ordering something that did have bread. I went with the fries with peppers and they were awesome. Made in a shared fryer, but I’m ok with that risk when it comes to fries. The wine I had however, a zin, was AMAZING. I’d go back just for a glass of that. They have all night happy hour on Tuesdays– sweet, and in general it’s until 5 or 5:30; can’t recall which, which will save you a few bucks on beer, wine, and apps. Our server was super friendly and the atmosphere is chill and inviting. We’ll be going back for sure.

I came here once and ordered a mussle plate. I didn’t like it and didn’t think I would come back. My bf took me here again bc he wanted me to try another pasta plate. I got bolgonese plate(not sure if I spell it correctly) it was so yummy. We ordered chicken wings too. It’s quite spicy. I would come back just to order the same plate again. Garlic bread was on point. I’m glad I gave it a second chance.

While our older children were(gasp) at a school dance, my husband and I took our son to Adamo’s with another couple and their younger child. We started with the Diane’s bread and the cheese plate. Both were really good. The cheese plate does NOT come with any crackers, bread, etc. who does that? What were we supposed to do with the spicy jam? With the honey? We ordered a side of bread which solved the problem but this dish would have missed the mark without it. The kids’ menu was nothing special. Grilled cheese, BLT, burger and pasta — both plain and with marinara. My super selective eater wasn’t interested. Lucky for him that night’s special was fettuccine Alfredo and the other child was willing to share. He pronounced it too chewy but she thought it was great. I had the meatballs and polenta — really moist and flavorful, a great rainy night comfort dinner. My hubby had the ravioli and all but licked the plate clean. He also had a side of fries and pronounce them as wonderful as previously reported. Our pals shared the mussels and hangar steak. They were both happy with the flavored but the portions were small, especially the sides. Service was friendly if inattentive. They were out of several things including the wings our waitress initially suggested. The food was good if a bit pricey. My biggest complaint is that the restaurant was smoky — we all left smelling like it was time to slop on some bbq sauce.

A lifetime ago I lived a mere stones throw from the location that is now Adamo’s. Back then, in the mid-1990s, this area was devoid of good food. Sure, we had soon-to-be Sacramento icons like Rubicon, Café Bernardo, Waterboy, Paesano’s and Paragary’s — but those were the exception and not the rule. Most of the eating establishments in mid-town were seriously lacking inspiration, comfort and style. So, after nearly 20 years I’ve returned to midtown and I am just delighted with our local restaurant offerings. The farm-to-fork revolution is in full effect. Doubtless, we have some of the best places to eat in all of Northern California. But, we can’t live on bacon, pickled roots and craft beer alone. I think that all foodies — at the end of the day– long for comfortable food served with tasty wine in a comfortable place. If you long for such simple pleasures as I do, visit Adamo’s. Located in an unassuming strip(next to a tattoo shop and laundry mat across from a Subway), Adamo’s is beacon for casual dining for the Poverty Ridge — mid-town community. On the Thursday night of my visit, there was a lively crowd and the establishment’s patrons all were content. It was a pleasant mix of Sac Bee staffers and locals. This is a North Beach /Little Italy pasta house of the first order. And the menu was just what I wanted. The craft beer and mostly California wine list is affordable and well-conceived. The beer selection includes local favorites like Track 7 and New Glory with heavyweights like Sierra Nevada and Moretti. Solid choices for entrees and appetizers. I had the pasta bolognese with a glass of the house cabernet. Accompanied by a fresh side salad, it was delicious! I now have plans to come back tomorrow for the white wine pasta, the carbonara or the cheese ravioli. All three look great. And here’s to the staff! All fun and friendly. Adamo’s is a mid-town gem that any Sacramento neighborhood would be lucky to claim.

When we first moved here we went to midtown laundry to wash our clothes. One day we decided to have lunch at adamo’s. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad and my girlfriend had a burger. The chicken in my salad was pretty dry and my girlfriend said she didn’t care for her burger either. The menu is pretty small here as well. Don’t think we would go back to this place.

Holy mackerel! What a find. Everything is made from scratch– including the chili jam and ALL the pasta. Get the meatballs and polenta or bolognese. Actually– get anything. It’s all good. Homemade. Delicious. You can also come here for lunch and get a spot-on Italian sub. Family owned– family made. This traveling foodie is impressed!

I’ve been here twice now(once to eat in, once for take out), and I am really digging this place. I think it will definitely become one of our go-to spots. Between my orders and my husband’s orders, we’ve had the cheese ravioli, the Bolognese, and the meatballs over polenta. We’ve also gotten the side house salads and the garlic bread. Everything was wonderful, though the Bolognese is my favorite so far. Their garlic bread is hands down the best garlic bread I’ve had in a very long time. They have a small but pretty cool and varied wine/beer/cider selection with a couple things on draft. When we got our to-go order we arrived early so we had a drink at the bar, which was totally fun. Prices are reasonable and service is very nice and laid back. Food seems to take a while, but it’s worth it. My only complaint is that when you order a pasta dish, you have to choose between a side salad or a piece of garlic bread. I’m always going to choose salad and then order a side of garlic bread, but it’s like, you can’t just give us a small piece of bread with our meal? Almost any restaurant serving a pasta dish anywhere does that and I guess I’ve come to expect it. Still, the bread is so good it is worth the extra cost. We will definitely be back. I’m looking forward to trying to White Wine pasta dish with butternut squash.

21st and P next to Midtown Laundry and Royal Peacock Tattoo. Adamo’s has one vegan option on their menu. It’s kinda oily sandwiched in ciabatta bread with your choice of side. It was okay. I like that they have an option especially for when you eat out with carnivorous folk. It’s a nice little restaurant. They have a TV behind the bar and table seating. I’ve heard great things about their food but on the vegan side. it was aight. My side of choice was their fries. It was okay. Their ketchup is cold. That’s okay, too. I keep my ketchup in the fridge at home. You just don’t get that frequently when going out to eat. Great atmosphere. Great service. That vegan sandwich– it was aight.

The S.O. and I went here the other day for a midweek treat, and since this place has been in my bookmarks for quite sometime, we decided to try it. First, the staff is great and fast. Justin is an experienced server and very good with people. He has really good recommendations and really listens. I ordered the meatballs with polenta, and the boyfriend ordered the egg plant parm. The egg plant parm is similiar to the Italian«gravy» served in New York. No, I’m not talking about the mashed potato stuff, I’m talking about the tomato sauce. We tried the Oktoberfest beer and a house red wine. Both were fabulous. This place is so worth a visit if you’re in town.

Adamo’s is more casual and urban than I had expected. The size of the restaurant is as large as meets the eye. Menu and prices are simple and straightforward. Plenty of street parking on a weekday during lunch time. The taste and presentation of the Sucio Fries reminds me of a plate of loaded fries that came from a home kitchen. They’re cut wide but fried golden brown and crispy. Sauces aren’t too salty so the bacon brings it together. The entrees aren’t particularly large so say yes to sharing an appetizer! My sister and I shared the chicken pesto sandwich with side salad. The chicken was slightly dry, charred, and not warm enough. The bread was soft but also not very warm. My other friend seemed to enjoy the Carbonara pasta with a side of garlic bread. It’s not a meal I would crave to come back for, but it was a solid meal worth trying!

The pasta… ah, the pasta. Sooo flippin’ good! Hubby and I have been to Adamo’s twice now, and we’ve decided that we just love coming here and will continue to come here because we’ve found it’s worth our time and patronage. Why, you ask? Let me ‘splain… 1. Bolognese — I cannot tell you how much we love this dish. The sauce is meaty and flavorful and clings to the pasta for mouthful after mouthful of deliciousness. 2. Meatballs and Polenta — Heaven! Three tasty meatballs resting atop a creamy pile of smooth polenta, covered in their oh-so-delectable marinara sauce. 3. Vietnamese chicken wings — We like that they grill their wings, not deep fry them. This gives the wings that crispy, charred flavor to them. Then, you dip your wing into that wonderful asian sweet chili sauce, and you’ve got yourself a home run! Loved ‘em! 4. Wine — They don’t charge an arm and a leg, as in Hubby gets his glass of Canyon Rock Pinot Noir for only $ 5 and I get my J. Lohr Reisling for only $ 8. Fantastic deal, so we ALWAYS get a glass of wine with dinner when we come here :) Now, one thing we always keep in mind, as you probably should too, is that you don’t come to eat at Adamo’s if you’re in a hurry. The pace is relaxed(aka, slow), but it’s sooooo worth the wait when your food finally gets set in front of you. But, you can totally tell they don’t cook it until you order it, and the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. Plus, as a helpful hint from Devo, from me to you, you can get a «$ 25 for $ 12.50» discount gift certificate for Adamo’s through the Sac News & Review’s «sweetdeals» website( ). Lastly, their brunch menu looks good… gonna have to whip some friends together for a brunch gathering some time soon! You had me at chicken & waffles! Do yourselves a favor and give this new kid on the block(they’re 1 year old on August 19!) a try. They deserve a chance, and you deserve to try that delicious bolognese at
