The food was fantastic, service was excellent. The waitress couldn’t make a mimosa because they ran out of proseco, so she created a fruity brunch drink with vodka instead. Very helpful. It’s a cute little place, very clean. In a nice neighborhood. After finishing our brunch we went for a nature walk on the water, down the street.

I’m a fan of the food for sure but it can get very busy and loud so sometimes you need to plan around the hung over college students.

I am going to give this restaurant 5 stars because the food is uncommonly good, even though the crepes were not my idea of crepes(fine line between thin pancakes and crepes imo, but they were delicious regardless). Very good waitress, efficient and on top of it. I also had a special: the pulled pork Benedict. This was the type of food I would make if I owned a restaurant. Sumptuously tender meat and beautifully poached eggs. I had the beans instead of home fries because there was potato in my Benedict already. They are Maine style beans and not Mexican style beans, complete w maple and bacon. Yum. Down home, generous portions. It takes a little longer because there is one guy making it in the kitchen. I think it’s worth the wait. Don’t come too early though, they open at 7:30 every day. I waited 30 minutes for that time and was glad I did.

The breakfast at New Moon is great! We always have good service and it is a great portion size for the price. The dinner however is a huge disappointment. We went for their version of restaurant week and we won’t go back for dinner again. The soup we had was cold, but we figured okay no worries. Then we had what they called a scampi and it was… interesting. Nowhere on the menu did it say that it included tomatoes, and I have an allergy so this was a big deal for me. When I got the dish, it was a creamy tomatoe sauce and tasted nothing like a scampi. It was gross to be honest. I checked with my friends who are chefs in Portland and they were dumbfounded as to why they would even call a dish like that, «scampi». Needless to say, they did switch it out for a better dish, but then came dessert. When I saw that they pulled my piece of cake out of a packaged box, that was really a bummer too. I had hoped for a homemade cake that they made, but no dice. If you are going for breakfast you will be happy and satisfied. Do yourself a favor and skip dinner, it’s a waste of money and time.

Ugh. Classic case of Unilocal needing half stars. Consider this a 3.5 star rating, please! New Moon is a very cute diner-esque place in Pepperell Square. The eats: + Cinnamon Bun Pancake($ 3.95): it didn’t come as advertised(there was supposed to be a frosting or drizzle of some kind on top), but it was still delicious. Unlike others, I REALLY liked it, and I don’t usually eat sweet breakfast items. Think pancake with a swirl of brown sugar-cinnamon. Just wish there had been that trademark cinnamon bun drizzle on it. I would a thousand percent get this again! — The Crescent Moon with($ 4.95): It’s an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. Only the eggs are cooked like an omelet and the cheese is hidden within. Good, but very very very greasy. As are the potatoes that come with it. + Side of hollandaise($.75): Delish! Definitely suggest it as a compliment to the sandwich. (SIDENOTE: My friend ordered a spinach and Swiss omelet, and it was gorgeous. Probably one of the prettiest omelets I’ve ever seen. So fluffy looking. Definitely getting that next time.) Also: + They have parking! YES! + They have a plethora of hot sauces, and that’s SO appreciated! Choloula AND sriracha? YES! + My coffee was never empty. YES! + The service was awesome. We had a girl with pink highlights and she was darn good at her job. Attentive, patient, friendly, stylish(we bonded over torn jeans, plaid shirts, and mermaids… A girl after my own heart). Exactly what you want from a breakfast service! YES! — This is ridiculously petty, but the biggest issue for me was the smell of the place. It was so overwhelming. Like old oil meets cigarettes. I smelled awful for the rest of the day. So much so I had to apologize to people throughout the day for it. That’s not how you want to remember a place and it, unfortunately, was a bad last impression.

This place was wonderful. We went in for brunch midweek and everyone said their food was tasty. I ordered the Garden Benedict and it was absolutely delightful. Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The waitress was kind and accommodating. My son is allergic to dairy and they had no problem altering the dishes to make them dairy free. I’m sure we’ll be back before we head home to California.

We came here for breakfast on Easter Sunday and surprised they weren’t jammed by 11am. We were seated right away and the hostess was very friendly. The menu is pretty straight-forward and what you would expect for a breakfast place. I asked if the eggs they use are organic and the waitress told me all of the scrambles come from a carton, and only the benedicts are fresh eggs. With ALL of the amazing farms in Maine why on earth are you using eggs from a carton? There are only about a dozen tables in the entire place so it can’t possibly be because the kitchen is over worked. We ordered the Garden Benedict, Cinnamon Bun Pancake and Cinnamon Raisin French toast. The cinnamon bun pancake is really a pancake with cinnamon swirl throughout. The french toast was really good and didn’t even need syrup. That reminds me, the syrup. With all the AMAZING sugar houses in Maine why on earth are you using Aunt Jemima??? Overall, the waitstaff is great and some menu items are good but I really don’t feel the need to come back.

Such good food! I usually get the Spanish omelette because I love the chipotle sauce but the past couple times I’ve been in I got the winter special Irish omelette, I add the chipotle sauce to it. Last Saturday I went in, saw it was a special and I didn’t even open the menu I knew that’s what I had to have again. The fiancé always gets his Irish Benedict and he loves it. This place is certainly a great place to go to for breakfast. If I had to give one complaint it would be that the bloody Mary’s are freaky watered down, as a bar tender myself I wonder if it sits in a pitch with ice in it and the ice melts or something? Any ways… Do yourself a favor and visit this place, prices are good too

Stopped in here with the wife on a quick weekend getaway in Saco, ME. Saw that it had really good reviews, and I’m a breakfast-junkie. We got a Southwestern Omelette and the Cinnamon-Roll pancakes. Honestly it was surprisingly one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a really long time. The Cinnamon-Roll pancakes were amazing; some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend this place! Next time I’m in the area I will definitely be going back.

Saco’s ‘new’ hidden gem! Have been there for dinner and breakfast and instantly became one of my favorite restaurants. The service was very attentive and the portions were great. I ordered the beef filet medallions and they were cooked perfectly to my liking. My wife order the chicken saltambocca which had wonderful flavor and was very juicy. We also ordered a couple hand crafted cocktails that tasted great. Chef Neil even came out to introduce himself and see how we were enjoying our meals. Would highly recommend and definitely return.

Cute little restaurant. For breakfast there was quite a few options. I got a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant. My boyfriend got an eggs Benedict. The hollindaise sauce wasn’t all that flavorful. It was lacking acidity. Probably the best tasting thing we had were the beans which you could choose to have as a side. There were nice big chunks of bacon in them and sauce that the beans were in was very flavorful. If I were to go back I would have tried one of their waffle or pancake options that the table next to us got. It looked and smelled delicious.

Update: 9⁄7. Fourth time here. Horrendously long wait. Only two waitstaff on duty. One looked as if she might have still been training. The understaffing created a situation where the waiter and waitress had to do too much at one, forgetting simple rules of safe food handling such as handling money and clearing/cleaning tables(touching dirty plates, wiping down tables) but not washing hands before resetting the table, touching/putting out clean silverware, and serving food prepared in the kitchen. Gross and unsafe. They are better than this based on my previous experience.

Cute restaurant in a cute town. We went with my 7-friend party to get brunch before heading back to New York. We all order different things from the full breakfast, the French toasts or the chicken sandwich… Everything was very tasty and affordable, and the service was fast. Just one tip: if you order the packages or French toasts, ask the waitress for the kitchen maple syrup, because the syrup on the dining tables are just… tasteless.

This was very good! I got the eggs Florentine Benedict and the Hollandaise sauce is homemade. The only complaint was the spinach was clearly frozen and not fresh but still yummy. My boyfriend got the sausage breakfast quesadilla and that was delicious too. The only complaint from him is that his girlfriend is Unilocal reviewing during breakfast!

It’s a tiny place, with large portions. The staff was excellent. They gave us very good recommendations and mixed an very good Cosmo. We were dazzled by the décor and lighting. It made for a cozy, almost magical experience. Parking? Yeah, that’s a challenge.

We had a very nice breakfast at the new moon this morning. Service was excellent and the food equally excellent. I had a the full moon breakfast which was a hearty two eggs, two slices of bacon, a huge, thick slice of country ham, and 2 fat sausage links, and three pancakes. What a tasty man-sized meal for this good ol’ boy from Pennsyltucky! The coffee was good enough, but less than what I would expect from a trendy eatery like The New Moon Restaurant! My wife had the Eggs Florentine and I had a bite– oh my word what a delight!(I’m poet and didn’t know it). Parking was not easy, had to make a u-turn and then go around the block while waiting for a gaggle of locals to say goodbye and leave in 3 separate cars! Be prepared to park around the corner. No worries, the walk is worth it.
