Saco River Cigars

Any place that allows smoking indoors automatically gets an extra star or two. But Saco River Cigars is much more than that. It is a small town oasis for those who enjoy the pleasures of smoking and relaxing with fellow mankind.
«Cajun» Dan was extremely helpful in selecting the right cigar for someone who does not smoke a whole lot of them and whose knowledge of them is quite lacking. He picked out the perfect choices for me and made pleasant conversation in between watching golf on the large flat screen. I was an out-​of-​towner who felt extremely welcomed in this obviously «local» joint. The other patrons were clearly regulars and it felt like this was their home away from home; a home they opened up for a couple hours to welcome a strange guest. The décor was pleasant and everything was very clean (including the air!). They also allow you to BYOB and store it there (a nice touch for those previously mentioned regulars I’m sure!).
Saco, Maine is not a place I have much reason to visit on a regular basis however if my travels ever take me there in the future I will surely pay a visit to my new «old» friends at SRC!

Finally a place to be able to sit and smoke cigars near Portland. Portland lacks a NICE lounge like this, and the selection is fantastic.
They have many more brands than any of the other shops in or around the Portland area. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, not easy to find everywhere.
The shop and seating areas are extremely clean and comfortable. This is well worth a 20 minute drive from Portland. I’ll definitely be here on a weekly basis.
