I had dinner there on 2⁄24 and then lunch on 2⁄25 on my way out of town. I like buffets as there is always a variety, and they had a great salad bar. The staff was very friendly, and the place was clean. My only suggestion is that they decide on only one type of music in the restaurant and stick with it. There were at least 4 different sources of music/tv heard today during lunch. I sat in the front of the restaurant near the windows, and they were playing country music. It was good, but in the back of the restaurant over the buffet they were playing a different country station. And then, the room between the kitchen and dining room right near the buffet was blaring some pop station, and the tv where you pay for your meal had some news station on. None of the staff seemed to notice, or even the manager which I’m sure was there. Ponderosa — pick something and stick with it. It is VERY annoying to hear several different stations/music while trying to dine. Yeah, everyone likes different music, but most everyone doesn’t like every type of music/tv playing at the same time.

I came here because a local told me this was a great place to grab a buffet breakfast/brunch. The price of course gets a 5 stars. It was 8.99 for an adult. They do charge you for each drink though. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. 5 stars for their staff. The place was very clean. You constantly saw a person cleaning the food area. The food selection was ok. Not the most selection but decent. They range from basic continental breakfast to some southern style food like fried chicken and biscuit with gravy. They had a big salad bar. Their desserts were eh.

Came over the weekend while I was snowboarding at Killington, your food options are basically a few chain restaurants or a random buffet like Ponderosa. I remember this place from when I was a kid, so of course I had to come back to what I believe is one of the last Ponderosa’s of its kind. Cheap dinner is what you’ll get here and that is exactly what I wanted. The buffet is small, but enough to keep you full for the night. As with most buffets, there were only a few things that I went back to get seconds for and while it wasn’t the greatest food I’ve ever had, it was all I really needed. Mac and cheese, some spaghetti and fried chicken, I was full and satisfied. Topped my meal off with some ice cream and cookies and I was ready to go back to the hotel and prepare for day 2 of snowboarding. Good service and clean restaurant. You can’t go wrong here — you’ll get a decent meal for an even better price. Skip the chain restaurants and save some bucks, lift tickets aren’t cheap!

I would like to report my horrible experience. Prior to ordering, I asked the cashier, Pamela whether the cook was any good. I have ordered«Steak» before at a Ponderosa«STEAKHOUSE» and they didn’t get it right. She advised me that he was excellent. So, I ordered a 6 oz steak but was told that they were sold out, and she offered up the 8 oz steak for $ 1 more. Not impressed, but didn’t say anything and ordered the 8 oz sirloin. I was wondering whether it was because it was kids eat free night, but I can’t confirm that, and proceeded to spend more money for the steak. We had been there the prior night, but didn’t order a steak and tonight, I just wanted a good steak, as shown in the picture, medium with a slight pink hue in the middle. I went to have my buffet while I waited, which was okay and had a lot of variety. My wife ordered the Monterey Chicken and advised me that it was good, which looked like it was boiled and slathered with sauce. Our meals came at the same time, and I cut open my steak, and advised my server, Paul, who was my server the prior night, that they had overcooked it, as there was no pink at all. He advised me that he would sort it out, went to the back and returned and advised me that they were making me another steak. I waited a long time and when the second steak came out, I cut it and it was still overcooked, as there was no pink. So, they went and made me a third steak. During this time, my family had finished their meal. I even had dessert, while I waited. My wife asked me what they did with my two previous steaks and I advised her that because I had cut it, they would throw them away, which is a waste of food. My server came out and advised me that they were making me another steak. He also advised me that somehow where I cut it was cooked but on the outside, it was medium rare. Who does that? Seriously? Anyway, I would have eaten it, had this been the case. However, they decided to make me a third steak. Paul was apologetic, and I advised Paul to just get it right and that I don’t blame him for this, as he wasn’t the one physically cooking my steak. While I was waiting for the third steak, a woman came out and yelled at me that I wanted a medium rare steak, so, I said, to her if that’s what it takes, go for it. As she was walking away she yelled back at me that if they didn’t get it right this time that I WOULDHAVESOMETHINGELSE. No sympathy, no apologies. Did I insult this woman that she was so irate at me and DEMAND that I eat something else? I didn’t want anything else, I wanted STEAK when I am at Ponderosa STEAKHOUSE. Anyway, when my third steak came back, I cut it in several places with the waiter present and he advised me that they had cooked it well again. He offered me something else but I declined, as I am now holding up my party. The waiter, Paul apologized again, and when we asked who was so rude to us, he advised my wife and I that this was the manager and co-owner. My wife advised me that shortly after I had declined a fourth steak, she walked past me and was cutting her eye at me. Meanwhile, I haven’t said anything. Shortly after, Paul, our waiter came back and advised me that they would credit me for the meal. I didn’t ask for it, but I was okay with this. When she came back, she abruptly advised me that she was only crediting me $ 2.50, which was an insult, because for $ 2.50, I would wait until they got it right. But I didn’t say anything. She advised me in no uncertain terms that because I ate the buffet, it was $ 2.50. However, when I look at the bill that she gave me, it advises a credit of $ 11.42, which I did not get. So, I am now feeling a little insulted and ripped off but still I did not say anything except to Paul that it was okay and I don’t blame him, as he did not cook the meal. As I am walking out, she is talking to Pamela B, and I heard her advise Pamela that she couldn’t stand my snobbery. I have to say, I am a little more than disappointed and I am unsure whether I will come back. I rated it properly on the comment card and advised on it that I would contact head office, no customer should ever go through this. I didn’t care that they didn’t get my meal right. I do care that they wasted all that food. I didn’t mind that she gave me only $ 2.50 for the steak, I gave it to Paul. I do mind that she may have defrauded someone over the difference from the 2.50 to the 11.42 that it said that she gave me. I do care a lot that she would disrespect me with gestures and accuse me of snobbery when clearly, I wasn’t. Part of the problem is that the steak is too thin. The other part is training and attitude. This woman should be condemned, as she has no right to be in a service industry. I will have to rethink this store because of this woman and not the service or the fact that the food didn’t work out.

After a day of skiing at Okemo, I stopped at Ponderosa for dinner on a Friday evening. I ordered the Sirloin Tips with baked potato and included the Buffet. It happened to be Seafood Night and there were some special offerings on the Buffet. I didn’t expect much here, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Buffet had items such as fried clams, fried shrimp, fried & baked fish, crab cakes, New England clam chowder, seafood pasta, fried chicken wings, meatballs in gravy, buttered red potatoes, potato wedges, rice, hot vegetables, cold salads, fresh greens, salad garnishments, and dressings. The food on the Buffet was not bad! My Sirloin Tips were cooked to my liking and I loaded my baked potato at the Salad Bar. The waitress was friendly and attentive(refilled my Diet Pepsi and cleared the used dishes). For Dessert Bar, I had some soft serve ice cream with caramel, chocolate cake, & hot peach cobbler, which was very sweet.
