A trip to Marty’s Budget Ski Rental for our equipment has become more of a tradition for us than a chore. It is our first stop on every trip to Killington. Marty is extremely helpful and it is always takes his time to fit each skier. My kids would not stop any place else to get their skis. We found the equipment to be up to date, in great shape and perfectly clean. His store front is what you would expect from a budget rental — nothing fancy but great service and prices! His location is ideal (on the way to Pico and Killington) so could not be more convenient for pick up and drop off.

Extremely reasonable price of less than $ 50 for two days for skiing set just right next to Pico. Marty is highly knowledgeable and a great guy. He didn’t ask for penalty for my swapped poles by someone (I voluntarily dropped $ 20 for replacement).

Don’t waste your time here. Marty has very old and questionable equipment, dark and dingy and a really bad attitude. He basically told us very rudely at least 3 times that we came to a budget rental so we obviously shouldn’t expect good service. Prices at nearby ski rental places were actually comparable, but with better equipment so in fact a much better deal.

Went here because I read excellent reviews on Unilocal.What a disappointment. The equipment is dirty and worn, the owner is rude beyond belief. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. And price wise this place is not even a good deal…

Just got our kids rentals here. Great service from all. Highly recommend driving a few more miles from Rutland to get your rentals. You wont be dissapointed one bit!

Do yourself a favor and call into Marty’s. even if you just need toe warmers, his knowledge of the area and his enthusiasm about life and skiing will put you in good stead to hit the slopes.
Marty went all out when he found out my wife was from Utah and have her BRAND NEW skis and poles — he literally took the wrappers off her Blizzard skis «hey» he said «some one’s gotta be the first to use ‘em.» There was no extra charge for that.
He will take the time to perfectly tune your skis to your height/​weight/​ability.
What’s more he will give great recommendations on the best runs for the current weather conditions, and the best places to eat and drink.
Marty is a 60 year old who skis 50+ days a year. Read: he knows everything about skiing Killington/​Pico.

A quick update after another visit to Marty’s — everything I said early still stands. We walked in to the shop after more than a year and Marty recognized us!!! He was a warm and helpful as ever, set my wife up with a pair of skis that she loved.

You will be doing yourself a favor by renting with Marty! He knows his stuff about equipment and fitted me with some of the best rental equipment I ever had. Took time to fit me to my overall style and ability. Do let the rustic shop keep you from renting with Budget. You will be the best equipment, customer service, and affordable rentals that will make you day on the slope most enjoyable!

Marty’s ski rental was awesome! We rented skis and a snowboard from Marty for a really great price. Marty gave us lots of advice on skiing in the area and was such a down to earth guy. He really made us feel welcome in his store and I was happy to support his business. His cat Spartacus was welcoming and friendly too. We will definitely be back!

We passed Marty’s Budget Ski Rentals on our way into Killington, and stopped in on a whim to see if we wanted to get my ski rentals there. Man, am I glad we did. The other reviewers say it all about Marty’s knowledge, personality, and professionalism (not to mention the best rental prices we found), so I’ll just add that Marty’s freely given tips and advice about the mountains, conditions and the town made a huge impact on our trip. He even took a couple runs with us when we ran into him on the mountain later in the week, and gave me some really useful friendly tips («run» into was almost literal for me =) Bottom line, our trip was better for having met Marty.

Just got back from a trip to Killington this week and Marty made our trip memorable with his amazing service, personality and great prices on ski rentals. He made us feel like we were his only customers and took interest in making our experience at Killington the very best. Highly recommend this business for anyone looking for ski rentals.

I went skiing at Killington for the first time in 15 years and on the first day the shell of my boots shattered on Outer Limits. At my friend’s suggestion stopped by Marty’s to get boot rentals to fit my skis and he took the time to find the right pair, adjusted the skis and was extremely knowledgable in explaining everything to my friend and I. Not only did I find him to be very friendly and helpful, but his prices were extremely reasonable as well. I’d very strongly recommend his shop to everyone!!!

I stopped at Budget Ski Rental on the way to Killington for boots for my son’s skis. The boots were perfect and very comfortable. Marty was very knowledgable and helpful. He had great tips for the local mountains as well as places to eat. The price was great. I highly recommend to stop here on the way to Killington or Pico for equipment rentals.
