RoCo Fuels / Cove Creek BBQ

Just this morning while at Cove Creek BBQ in Rutherfordton, NC, my mom experienced some really racist remarks by the owner! Apparently a white woman came in with a black man… the owner started making comments about the couple and how it made him sick and he didn’t want them in his store. Then he proceeded to say that all mixed babies should have their heads pinched off before they’re born. Mom was mortified! She informed him that she had a mixed child… told him how he was really inappropriate and that she wouldn’t be back nor would she continue sending him business as she paid and left!
The food is pretty decent here, but after those comments which were made openly for everyone to hear, I won’t ever go back!

Great Brisket, which was the special of the day. It’s a small place and it’s in the same room as the convenience store. Also there is a gas station.
Very friendly staff.

Excellent home made pulled pork BBQ!

They have the only gas for many miles. And they’re nice. ‘Nuff said.
