Ordered crab rangoons due to previous reviews raving about them– definitely worth raving about. Creamy, salty, crunchy goodness. Also ordered the combo platter of curry chicken and roast pork fried rice. It was flavorful but definitely could’ve used more roast pork bits in the rice. Vegetable chow fun was flavorful as well, but more vegetables like green peppers, baby corn, chestnuts, etc should have been added for a more authentic dish. Overall, would order from here again to satisfy any Chinese food cravings!

Very friendly(frantic in a very cutesy helpful way) woman working the counter. Huge portion of a pretty good beef lo mein stuffed into quart. Not a big fan of their scallion pancakes. Very greasy. Would go back(because it’s a two-minute walk from my place), but would order something different.

I’ve given it a second and third chance they still use a third party answer service but the food and service has improved so much so I order the same dish every week now!

Now, I wouldn’t say I’m a crab rangoon connoisseur, maybe more of a crab rangoon aficionado but it’s safe to say I’ve tried many, many crab rangoons in my day. Mainly because whenever I see them on a menu or in a buffet, I get giddy and must get them. It’s like they have some sort of hypnotic trance on me. The crunchy shell, the soft gooey, cream cheese filling, the burst of both textures all hot and steamy when you bite into it… Mmm… Sorry, I digress. I really love crab rangoons. And it’s safe to say that hands down, this place has the best crab rangoons I’ve ever tasted. I mean, the BEST. When I bit into it, I was so surprised at all the flavor that was packed into these unassuming fried dough pockets. They are nothing short of amazing. I woke up today and my first thought was, «I want to eat those crab rangoons». No joke. Aside from having amazing crab rangoons, the rest of their food is awesome. It tastes so fresh and clean and it just has so much flavor. It’s crazy! Even something as simple as their steamed dumplings had incredible amounts of flavor. This has definitely become my new favorite Chinese take-out place. Even though it’s a hike for me, it’s worth the trip. Definitely try this place and most definitely get the crab rangoons!

Best Chinese food in northern NJ. I’ve visited a lot of Chinese food places in my area and no one compares to Ruyi. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious every single time. My wife usually gets their beef lo mein and friend pork dumplings, I get the same or the sweet and sour chicken. Never had a bad experience at this place — I DEFINITELYRECOMMENDTHEM! Food is always delicious and never fails to hit the spot. This Chinese food restaurant is unlike any other, always well seasoned, well presented, and the awesome service is just the icing on the cake.

My go to Chinese place! Their curry dumplings are so good! They look like little empanadas. The beef chow fun with the wide noodles is also excellent. I called once for delivery and they had my info saved so I don’t have to give them my address every time. Always quick and very friendly!

Ruyi Kitchen is one of the few Chinese restaurants that seem to use fresh produce and REAL chicken/beef/pork. You’re able to order all white meat General Tsos. Their standard stir fry dishes(chicken w/brocc) aren’t nearly as greasy/salty/oily as other take out Chinese restaurants. The service is fast and the prices are competitive. It was nice to be able to eat Chinese food without feeling like 75 year old after.

Very efficient, family operated Restaurant. There is seating inside but main business is take-out. My Fiancé and I choose this place for the freshness that comes with each dish. We order: Boneless Spare Ribs — tender, flavorful and juicy Chicken Lo Mein — a little on the dry side. Large portion. Wonton Soup — freshly made wontons. 4 to a pint. Crab Rangoon — crispy; unique flavor Chicken & Broccoli — tender chicken with a great brown sauce. Broccoli is fresh and not overworked. Order Now.

Nearby Chinese place. Affordable price. Service is really great. The lady welcomed me with a warm smile. Food is average. Hot n sour soup was quiet bland. Chicken lo me in was good. Could be an emergency takeout place for Union ave residents.

This place is so great, I didn’t have there menu, so they actually emailed it to me, called me back to make sure I got it, I mean who does that? This place has Fast service, nice tables to eat on and present your food on plate dishes.

I don’t know about you, but when I order Chinese food I want something so unhealthy that my body is begging me to stop eating it by the end of the meal. This was not the colon-exploding, stomach lining-ripping, blissful experience I was hoping for. This Chinese food was good looking, clean-tasting and delivered piping hot — and fast. So what was the problem? It tasted… healthy. I didn’t order steam chicken with broccoli(sauce on the side), I ordered good old sesame chicken with pork fried rice. It just didn’t have that greasy, sweet, batter-coated, dark meat deliciousness inherent to any honest-to-goodness Americanized Chinese sesame chicken dish. The moral of the story is although health food has its place, if you’re going to order Chinese, be true to yourself and go for broke — with a different restaurant.

After reading all these reviews I made a special trip for this wonderful sounding Chinese take out… Big mistake. Real fried rice is brown from seasonings with bits of egg and what ever you ordered i.e. chicken. There’s was greasy brown rice with lots of meat and onion. The dumplings were alright nothing I couldn’t get at any other Chinese take out. Wasted time and money, I don’t understand all these rave reviews, just another take out place.

This is easily my go to spot for Chinese food. The Beef and Broccoli is awesome and usually what I order. Super fresh broccoli and you can tell it’s real beef unlike some of the other local places and their mystery meat. They are super friendly when placing the order and the delivery guy is always quick and very friendly. I definitely recommend Ruyi any day!

Ordered from Ruyi one night last week as I was too tired to think about cooking dinner myself. Got a few standard take-away dishes(Gen Tso, Pork Spareribs, etc) to try them for the first time. Delivery was to be 30 – 45 min. Ended up being just under 30 so I was pleased with the speed of the delivery guy. The food was just OK — the usual sort of greasy-spoon chinese that would expect from any of the other local spots. They did throw in two crab rangoons for free and they were really nice. SUPER hot out of the bag but well flavoured and a nice little add-on.

An update… I need to indicate that they are extremely accommodating toward us vegetarians. The Singapore noodles are excellent, loaded with yellow curry, vegetables, and a bit of heat. They’re fast, friendly, and deliver in under 25 minutes. Absolutely Ruyi is our go-to Chinese food haven!

Ordered from here the other night and it was great! The crispy beef was delightful. We also tried the chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce and it was great! I only wish I had tried this place sooner!

I’ve been going there for the last 2 weeks and I think that allows me to gauge the consistency of their food. My house is being renovated and I don’t have a working kitchen at the moment so I’ve been eating out almost every day and Ruyi has been my go-to place. Every time I have gone to Ruyi, the food has been excellent. The fried rice tastes fresh and not greasy. Another way I tell whether a Chinese place is good is how the General Tso chicken tastes. Bad places fill the General’s chicken with fatty parts of the chicken because they figure the batter will hide the taste; but not Ruyi. One of the best General’s I’ve had. What is even better is that their portions are huge. One takeout dish = 2 meals. Also, their prices are really low. Looks like a family run place where everyone is pitching in.
