I went to honig winery to celebrate a friends 30th bday. Carol was our host and she was amazing and wines were absolutely amazing too!

The staff at Honig Winery was extremely friendly and had an informative presentation about vineyards. We had an appointment for a tasting that was set up in a comfortable setting so we could really enjoy the wines.

Excellent deep ruby inky reds. This cabernet(reserve or whatever) is a serious wine for serious steak or lamb.

Ambiance– They make cute personalized signs for your table which is a cute touch. Not a fan of the gift shop selling. I find it cheesy. Great that they are a Green/Sustainable vineyard. Wine– They are known for their whites. I am a big red drinker and I was not a fan of any of their reds. The desert wine tastes like honey. I wanted to try their pink cab but they were all sold out… mostly for the reason that it was pink haha.

I was not impressed. The wine was Okay, the ambience was nice, but very restaurant-y and the service was a little in your face yet lacking on the pouring. They threw at us like 300 post cards for us to fill out. It was very obnoxious. They were trying to get free advertising. I had an empty glass 75 percent of the time because the server was too focused on giving us postcards he kept forgetting to pour wine.

Reservation only. No food. ENVIRONMENT Beautiful, of course. Large open patio with lots of seats. Gorgeous valley views. TASTING This menu was $ 20 for four options of Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. SERVICE Meh. A little slow and not enough pouring. Friendly and conversational though.

Had a wonderful visit to Honig in late Aug. 2015, David was our wine educator and he was exceptional. Tastings require a reservation, however we were able to call 30 minutes prior to arrival to make a reservation so if you don’t already have one I would try that. The tasting area is mostly outdoors, the area is beautiful(as almost all the Napa vineyards are). We chose to taste inside on some comfortable armchairs in the air conditioning which was amazing late in the day. The wines are great with some good cabs. The favorite was the late harvest desert wine, coming from a group that generally doesn’t enjoy desert wines. The tasting was very educational, no pressure to join the wine club or purchase bottles, and although we did a late tasting past their closing time there was no pressure on us to leave. A great experience.

Tasty wines, friendly people, but they didn’t go out of their way to make us feel super welcomed. Their cabs are pretty tasty. One small but memorable detail is that they served us water by putting a water bottle with two disposable cups on top. While I normally don’t expect people to pour my water, all the wineries that really go above and beyond expectations do. So in this case, Honig did not exceed my expectations. It is in fact, A-OK.

You can tell this vineyard values its staff. At the entrance there is a 4×6 portrait of each employee. That warmed the cockles of my heart, and so did their wine. One of those employees(whose name escapes me) served me 4 samples plus a bonus from the $ 20 class tasting flight. The bonus wine(2010 Cabernet Sauvignon — Campbell Vineyard) was delicious, as in $ 110/bottle delicious. Perhaps my favorite, though, was the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest dessert wine($ 70). Overall, the staff was very friendly and took their time to explain each wine. They even went out of their way to make suggestions as to how to get all the wine I wanted to buy back to Jersey safe and sound. Of the 500+ vineyard choices you have, this one is worth a visit, however I can only speak for the stand-up tasting room and not the sit-down courtyard experience.

I have to agree with Stephanie T(8⁄10) on Honig… The outdoor setting on the tree-shaded patio was really nice, but our server was a little green, stiff and very scripted but friendly, and we had an enjoyable time here Although Stephanie was apparently able to get a spot on the patio with no appointment, after some Unilocal messaging with Regina W, the owner of Honig, she clarified that their business permit requires appointments. It’s not just an arbitrary rule… Anyway, we liked a few of the wines, but nobody in our group of 4 liked them enough to purchase at this price level

I’ve been to this cute little winery twice and both time were quiet an amazing experience. This recent time, I came with a group of 8 and made reservations ahead of time. This place has a great atmosphere and you could really spend some quality time here unlike some of the other wineries that could feel like you’re being rushed or that feeling of a «meat market». They even set up a table for you and make it look all nice and cute with your reservation name. I would definitely keep coming back here.

This is another winery recommended by a wine-loving friend. We didn’t make an appointment, but they were able to accommodate us on the patio since it was just the two of us. There was a larger group who came in after us that had no such luck. I liked the outdoor setting and personalized service. However, our server seemed a bit scripted. Perhaps because she was so young. In any case, we went through the tasting and decided to buy the late harvest sauvignon blanc. At $ 70 for 375ml, it’s much more expensive than what we normally purchase, but it was one bottle that can’t be found at Total Wine. Plus, we justified it by subtracting the waived $ 20 tasting fee.

My husband and I came here for our mini-moon right after we got married. Definitely one of our favorites! We loved each of the wines we tasted and wished we could have taken all the bottles home with us to New York! We had the most wonderful time! We can’t wait to come back. We met Chessa who was amazing! She was so helpful and accommodating and totally took care of us. She came down to talk to us when we got there and before we left. She was so personable and knowledgeable. She was a sweetheart! I believe it was Josh who did the tasting with us. He was also wonderful and super knowledgeable. We kept him very busy by asking him many questions. Thank you so much for everything! It was such a treat!

Honig is an amazing vineyard experience! The staff are fun, friendly and knowledgeable, the wines are great, and the new Eco Tour and Reserve Tasting are wonderful. They are an organic vineyard, use no pesticides, and try to do as much dry farming as possible. There are some bee hives on property, some cool birds, and even an owl!

This was our last stop for our wine tour. The outside is part where the tables are were gorgeous. I loved the marble tables that we sat on. The patio area was covered in trees and umbrellas so no one suffered from the heat! hahah. The tasting itself was good. I did enjoy their cab and their late harvest. The table was already for us when we came in and they even wrote my name on a piece of chalk board! They were very welcoming and accommodating for our large group of 11.

Our last stop in Napa, and it was perfect — a nice quiet sit down just to enjoy the trees around us and 4 last wines(well except for the ones we brought to dinner lol). We arrived to find our table ready and waiting for us :) $ 20 for 4 wines — a white, 2 reds and a dessert. And both of our servers did a great job educating us on the wines and also getting waters for those in the group who were not partaking in the tasting(quitters lol). Quite a cute little store inside and I ended up picking up a few gifts for friends back home :) I’d highly suggest Honig as a place to either start your day or wind down for the afternoon, lots of the other guests were going straight from Honig to dinner. PS — They have an electric car charger. PPS — Was able to make my tasting reservations via Unilocal’s Seat Me app. Very convenient.

Wine Tasting with 2 of my friends, on a Saturday… first stop is Honig. This winery was highly recommended to one of my friends and we immediately made the call to book it. We could not have been happier we did. We did the first tasting of the day, right when they opened at 10am. We walked in the door and all the staff was ready for guests, smiling and immediately showed us to our table, with our name on it, and glasses ready to start the tasting. We had a menu of 4 wines to taste, a white, 2 reds, and a dessert wine. With each tasting, David(our wine tasting guide) would tell us about the wine, what to pair it with, and answered all questions we had. He was so personable, funny, great with recommendations of both, the wine and things to do in the area, after the wineries were closed. We had the opportunity to do a side by side comparison with the 2012 Cabernet they had for the tasting, against the same wine but from 2008. I love when they do these side by side tastings. Makes you appreciate and learn the process of the wine, aging, and what difference the climate, grapes, etc. can make in a wine. The atmosphere here is very casual and at the same time romantic. The outside seating for the tasting is very welcoming and relaxed. The staff sits with you while you’re doing the tasting. They make you feel comfortable asking questions, saying what you taste in each wine and what you think of them. They will even pour more of the ones you like, without you even asking. They are there to make sure you enjoy the experience and the wine and they are genuinely happy to do so. At the end, I was: 1. Very happy for those generous wine pours(I was cold and by the second glass I had completely forgotten about getting my jacket in the car) :p 2. Grateful to have had such a fun and knowledgeable wine guide 3. Incredibly impressed with their dessert wine. I hardly ever like any sweet wines but their Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest is excellent. Liked it so much, I bought a bottle. 4. In love with their 2008 Cab. So smooth, yet big on flavor 5. Excited for the rest of our wine tasting day. This was the perfect start to our day. If you are planning a Napa wine tasting tour, make sure you book a tasting at Honig. I assure you, the wine, and the experience will not disappoint. This is one I would go back to any chance I get. When people care and are proud of what they do it shows, Honig is a clear and perfect example of it. David, and Honig, thank you for making our Napa experience so memorable.

My friends and family have been members of Honig for quite some time. While they have definitely gotten more popular, their«small-family» like demeanor still remains which is what I love. The people who work there are really friendly and most also give you a good overview of the wine & its background. Definitely make reservations as the tastings are done on group tables which offer an intimate setting — either indoors or on the outdoor patio(with shade from umbrellas/trees). Now to the wine — definitely great wine especially for the price. Worth checking out although off the main drag.

Great experience here, although it was brief! We came a few minutes before closing, but the staff was still very attentive to us, and squeezed in 1 tasting even though they were done serving. In addition, the girl was nice enough to pull out a map and recommend wineries that were open later. Awesome service, and I definitely hope to visit again when we have more time! I also hear they allow dogs, which is a definite plus!

Super homey. We were the only ones there on a rainy Napa Tuesday, and we’re all glad we stopped by! :) Staff here was super nice. Good wine. My favorite is actually the dessert wine here — to my surprise to be honest! Would I come back? Yes, I would. But probably not anytime soon since there are just way too many wineries to check out in Napa!
