I’m being a tad generous. The salad was a waste of time, lettuce, 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and one sliver of red onion. The prime rib was overwhelmed with aujus, keep it to the side. meat was good though, thick and tender. The loaded potato had no sour cream, but real bacon. The sweet potato was, well a sweet potato. The blackened talapia was good. Our young waitress knows nothing of alcohol, we had to explain. They need to work on presentation. Dessert was good, chocolate cake and bread pudding that was way too hot to eat at first. The ambiance is nice, setting comfortable. They did bill us wrong at first for the steak, By $ 3. They fixed it. Oh, and our dinner dishes were left on the table while eating dessert. The Bill $ 78 bucks, included a coffee, an Irish Coffee, wine and dessert. I’d say a little over priced.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant twice and disappointed both times. Wanted to try it because we live close. Mistake. The good. The building is nice inside and out. Beautiful setting and tv’s .etc. That’s where it all ends. The bad. Food was average and little pricey. Service was horrible. The waitress was rude and slow… If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

While I live close by and frequent often and the service always sucks. The food is always pretty good and they do have the NFL ticket which is convenient for Ladysmith. But back to the service, sitting at the bar it isn’t so bad but at a table, dont be in a rush because you will be waiting around for a while with no server in sight. If they’d pick up the place I’d have no complaints.

New to this area and decided to enjoy a date night. Found this place using Google(husbands idea). Walking in it was almost empty. Two tables with couples. We order drinks and it takes forever. Later we find out she had to change the keg– but 10 minutes for two drinks? Appetizers– the sampler. This sampler clearly was from the frozen food section. Lava hot on the edges and cold on the inside. Dinner– salmon and frozen mashed potatoes. Stuffed shells. Freezer burn on the shells and sauce was bland tomato sauce with a semi melted slice of cheese. Will never come here. $ 55 tab for a 10 dollar dinner. Stay away and find a better place.

Ok listen up. We love Timbers. We live pretty close and have enjoyed Timbers from the first time we were looking for a home in the area. We’ve been there a lot — not every experience is memorable — you see they have actual human beings working there who sometimes screw up. If you expect perfection with every meal experience you may be disappointed. But if you’re a fan of steamed shrimp or cheesesteaks or brick oven pizza heck you may like it. The«other» restaurant across the parking lot to me is uncomfortable. We’ve been there multiple times as well but the acoustics there are painful and the pizza in not my favorite. Timbers gets 5 stars.

I am giving this restaurant 5 stars for a number of reasons. 1. Service. The place is Italian owned and as you can expect, the sense of hospitality and client satisfaction is a priority. 2. Food. It is a 4 in terms of food, although for the location, it’s the best within miles. My wife had a hamburger and it was delicious. All portions are huge. 3. Attention to detail. Our server was so attentive and she even complimented the«delay» with free dessert(although quite honestly it didn’t feel like we had been waiting for very long). 4. Cost. For the quantity of food and quality, pricing is great. You can feed a family of 4 with $ 30-$ 40(if you order more«specialty» entrees) and still have food to take home. Their menu has a wide variety. Your family will certainly find something for each member. We will certainly be returning.

My husband and I love Timbers! Very good food, great service, friendly faces, nice atmosphere and the salads are the best! The prices are fair and the servings are generous. A full menu with something for everyone’s taste. You must try! I highly recommend!

I read the reviews and wanted very much to give this restaurant a chance being our first time trying it out. We came in and had no host/hostess to greet us. Not a big deal as our party of 8 was seated fairly quickly by a waitress. We had to get our own high chair for the baby because they forgot to get it for us. When we reminded the waitress she said the chairs were up front, in other words, please get it yourself. We could tell the waitresses were rushing to get to everyone but because of that they made little mistakes, again not a huge deal but it’s the details that make or break an impression of a place for some. Our kids had chocolate milks which were essentially a large glob of chocolate syrup at the bottom of the cups of milk. We mixed it in and it was fine. The pizza came out fast and the kids really enjoyed it. The other food took a while. A few mistakes: my salad dressing was wrong and they forgot one of my kid’s meals until they were reminded. The lasagna, the make your own pasta and the club sandwiches were all very good according to each person in our party. So, the food is decent and if you can tolerate little, minor service hiccups, it’s the right venue for you. Some nice touches: Mother’s Day lunch was free for the mothers in our party and they gave all the kids Oreos free just before we left.

The map directions were not correct but once we found it it was worth the hunt. Exit 110 right from South and left from North. The appetizers were very good. Had the sampler. Tap beer was fresh and cold. Shrimp was a good value and BIG portions. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Sat at the bar to watch baseball. Will come back on our next 95 trek. Nice to unwind after a day of driving.

So sorry, Timbers, but I have to add a not-so-flattering addendum to my last review! My parents and I went to the Timbers a few days ago and had HORRIBLE service and less than mediocre food. The restaurant was only ¼ full, yet service was ridiculously slow. The woman waiting on us(who I assume is one of the owners) was acting as hostess, CHEF, and waitress, and not keeping up pace on any of those three responsibilities. My parents got so frustrated waiting for her that my dad actually got up, wandered around the restaurant and wandered into the kitchen to track her down so we could finally place our orders. Long story short, every exchange was painfully slow, the food was not good. Not bad enough to send back, but definitely not good. And to top it all off, the portions were small, and prices were large. Even though Ladysmith doesn’t have many restaurant options, I’ll have to say I won’t be returning to Timbers again. They’ve permanently lost this local’s business!

Being back on the East coast for the holidays, I knew I had to meet up with some Richmond friends but did not feel like driving there from Fredericksburg and this is where Timbers comes in. Timbers is a classy, log cabin/golf club type restaurant with a variety of different food choices. Its pretty easy to find and is about a mile or so off the highway. The parking lot is large and so is the restaurant itself. Its a warm restaurant too with a nice fireplace in the front. There is a bar area in the front, tables and booths in the back and then another area further back that could host a private party. My friend and I weren’t too hungry so we split an order of nachos and each got a bowl of clam chowder. The nachos arrived with cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos and lettuce and then they brought a bowl of chili so you could have meat on your nachos if you wanted. The nachos were pretty tasty! The clam chowder was pretty good but not anything to write home about. We went on a Friday night and so there was live music wnd we found out Timbers is the happening place to be in Ladysmith. There was a great mix of all ages, having a good time in the bar area. It was a lot of fun to people watch! Prices were fair and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you need a place to stop by in between Richmond and Fredericksburg, then say«hi» to the folks in Timbers!

We saw the new sign with«PIZZA» displayed and figured it was time to stop in again and see how the Pizza stacks up to others. The only disappointment was the Brick oven is not yet complete so we had to settle for a standard pizza oven. We decided to try 3 different pizzas and a Stromboli(photos attached). Our favorite was the Margarita pizza, but all were good. 3 cheese garlic and the BBQ chicken all had good flavor. The meat in the steak Stromboli was very tasty. All us us would order these items again. The crust was well done but just a tad and I do mean tad on the tough side. But this could be due to the late hour and close to closing time. This in no way diminished our experience. We are really looking forward to seeing the brick oven in action!

After being 95 most of the morning, I wanted a lunch that was not fast food. The server was very nice and good. They had just put in a pizza oven and went with a pizza on the recommendation of the server. I was not disappointed, since I was very tasty. If I am on 95, in this area again and in the need of lunch, I will stop in for another meal.

This was my first visit after the change in ownership. Just as a note the first owner did a pretty poor job all around. I had gone twice and decided that it would never happen again. I can honestly say Timbers is on an upswing now. Even though appearances inside are the same the menu is new and the good was pretty good. I didn’t like my veggies(cut supper thin oily and less than half an actual serving) but I did like the rotisserie chicken. I will give them another try based on thelast visit. I understand there will be more changes to the restaurant over all as time comes. Also as a courtesy I’ll drop them a suggestion about the veggie side dish situation.

I-95 can be a food desert. So we found this spot on Unilocal and stopped on a Sunday afternoon on our way to points distant. This very nice place couldn’t be more convenient to both 95 and Rt.1. We sat in the comfortable bar area where 5 flat screens glowed. Service was friendly and fast. Rotisserie and fried chicken dinners with baked sweet taters appeared. Fried beats rotisserie, which was a bit overdone, but tasty. The star of the meal was the sweet baked potato, crowned with the house special topping which made it taste like pumpkin pie! A nice surprise. Just 31 dollars for Sunday dinner, To top it all off the restrooms were spotless. Next time I might try a sandwich, but I’d definitely get that sweet tater! Tasty food that’s good fer ya.
