I have to admit that I have only had one item on the menu, but I have had it about 50 times. The hibachi combo is a huge plate of freshly cooked veggies, steamed or fried rice and the most delicious chicken and shrimp. I don’t know how they do it, but the flavor and texture of the meat is incredible. Comes with dipping sauce that you don’t need and soup. The soup is a clear broth. It does not make much of an impression until you taste it. Very good!

I walked in and was not impressed. I was asked to sit at the bar since I was alone. I refused and they acted like I had asked them for a golden table. I felt rushed the whole time I was there. The food was good but nothing spectacular. I had the hibachi chicken. The portion size was good. It lacked any thing to set it apart from the other places similar to it that I have eaten at. They have a full drink menu and hot sake. Bottom line I would eat there again but I wouldn’t break my neck or wait for hours to do so.

I wrote my review in my head the second I walked in the door. The place was small, crowded, loud, and dark. I knew I would leave disappointed. I ordered the Hibachi Ruby Red Tuna and waited for the tiny little fish stick to arrive. Instead I got a plate full of rice and grilled vegetables with two pieces of grilled tuna. Not only was there more than enough food but every bite was delicious. I would go back without a moments hesitation.

Chicken fried rice is the bomb! Must try it here. Quick service, and always friendly. Not sure what all the complaining is about.

Not sure what all the complaining is about. Someone recommended this place and I said to myself«good sushi in arkansas???» I’ve had a little better in big cities(new york, dc, San fran) but for being located where it is I considered it excellent. Sevierville was very friendly and attentive. Certainly worth a stop.

It’s ok. Definitely nothing special. I ordered shrimp fried rice and it was pretty much rice and some bigger shrimp. It got real old after a few bites. It was lacking a lot of flavor. It was a bummer for sure.

Make sure and look at your bill bc the tip is added into your bill(18%). They DONOT inform you of this and bring back your receipt after they run your card w a blank space that says tip amount on it. Several people miss this and double tip which is why they do it! That’s just sorry!

Went there for lunch and was VERY disappointed! I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box. The portion of salmon was so small that it was barely four bites. On top of that what little there was of it was so tough and overlooked it was terrible. I don’t think I’ll be going back there.

From the rude waitress(she put her fingers in my salad bowl –THEN asked if I was finished — I hadn’t even started) to the TOUGH and the very worst filet mignon that I have EVER had anywhere For a 20 plate I expected something that was at least edible. Simply the worst meal I have have EVER had at this restaurant. I tried two bites and didn’t eat anymore — just too tough to chew. Just terrible. The owner is pleasant but must be unaware of the problems in this restaurant. I told the waitress that the meal was awful and meat was terrible and she said back to me and my shocked friend, «Well, lots of people have been complaining that it has been tough.» WTH? I don’t think I“ll be back. In combination with the 9+ dollar beer and the lousy meal, I’ll pass and DONOTRECOMMEND. Bottom line, rude wait staff and awful food. Too bad it was at one time my go to restaurant. I am looking forward the the new Wasabi’s opening up.

We’ve been coming to this location since its opening. We loved the staff and service before. Now whoever has been put in charge is clearly lacking customer service skills. The food is great, usually, but management needs a little help, well, maybe a lot of help.

My wife and I eat a lot of Asian food, and Japanese is always something that we enjoy. We were passing through Russellville, AR and decided to give Umami a try. Umami appears to be located in a building previously owned by another restaurant. There is a large open kitchen to the right, a sushi bar straight ahead and seating in the center and left. We had read reviews indicting that it was a restaurant that was frequented heavily, and the reviews were good. Our review is somewhere between average and good. My primary problem with Umami is with a price /portion issue. Others have mentioned that the Japanese food is pricey. I agree and actually feel that it is unreasonable. My wife and I prefer our tuna raw so the sashimi is our preference. The sashimi, to me, was overpriced for what you get. The price for Maguro or Yellowtail Tuna Sashimi was 6.95 for three very small pieces of tuna. The slices were both thinner and smaller than one should expect for the price. Our opiinion is that the sashimi is not a good deal. We also ate Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Tuna Rolls and found both of those to be reasonably priced and reasonable proportions for the price. The spicy tuna rolls were 5.75 each and were a much better value. Otherwise, the restaurant seemed very nice. The service was good and there were lots of local patrons. Our observations is that almost everyone we saw eating dinner there were having what the restaurant calls Hibachi Fried Rice, which was a large portion of fried rice either with a variety of meats(chicken, shrimp, or sausage, vegetables, etc.) in a dark sauce. it looked good and was reasonably priced, although it looked more like Chinese fried rice than a true Japanese dish. Our guess is that 75% of the patrons eating dinner that night were having one of these Hibachi Fried Rice dinners. The features were a long list of «special» and«standard» specialty rolls which were generally $ 11 to $ 14.00. The proprietors were accommodating, nice people, and served a generally nice meal. Although I doubt that sashimi is in high demand in Russellville, Umami needs to rectify their sashimi portions and they will become a good value for the Japanese food buffs.

Sushi was pretty mediocre, but the seaweed salad, udon noodle soup and martinis were yummy. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Would come again and probably just have the soup.

Sushi is pretty good; fresh. Menu has much to choose from. A tad pricey, however, you’re in Arkansas… Eating sushi. I’d try the umami edamame. Spicy, with some very mild peppery-garlic kick, but definitely worth a try. Ruby red tuna was a bit over-cooked from how I requested, but still was delicious. Atmosphere is pleasant. Somewhat loud, but not too much to where one cannot have a decent conversation level. Wish the place was bigger. Overall, I definitely recommend the experience.(I went three days in a row!)

I enjoy the food, but find it a bit on the expensive side. The atmosphere is wonderful.
