Something happened. The supper prices went up and the quality went down. It’s everything you’d expect from an establishment that has little to no competition. I was not impressed on this visit. Before, the fish was perfect. This time, it lacked a savory taste, …kind of bland. Again the price was waaaaaaay too high for the quality. Not what I was expecting. It’s going to be a long time before I come back here again. Very sad.

The catfish is good and cinnamon rolls are great. Everything else is so-​so. atmosphere is church camp dining hall. Service is good; overpriced and buffet style only. Better southern food found elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I do not live in Russellville anymore and therefore cannot eat here anymore. But I can assure you, when I did, this was one of my favorite places to eat! In fact, when I had my going away dinner the night before I left, we had it at Brown’s.
I know live in Hawaii and if there is one thing that is highly lacking, it’s some good, authentic Southern cooking! Brown’s has the best catfish, some great clam strips and by far the BEST potato salad! Even when I cooked meals at home, I would call in an order or two of their potato salad. Yum!
The service is always impeccable, largely in part due to Mr. Brown and his family-​run business. He was usually there when I ate there and always greeted me and my guests. The waitresses were always nice and attentive. Unless you went during dinner or on the weekends, the lines weren’t really that bad. The prices are actually very good for all the great food that you get. Wait! How can I forget to mention their savory cinnamon rolls?! Talk about amazing! Not only are they warm and fresh, but they let you serve your own icing!
