Haven’t eaten the food yet, but stopped by here on my way to Rangeley Lake. They are super nice and friendly! Made me feel at home after a long day on the road… Not many options in Rumford, definitely stop by and enjoy a bite.

Let’s face it Rumford isn’t a huge tourist town. If you eat here, you’re probably a local, except us, of course. On our way from Bangor to see a few waterfalls in Maine we opted to stop for lunch in this town and enjoyed our meal. This isn’t authentic, homemade Italian, but it passes the edible test and the prices are the cheapest I’ve seen in years, not to mention the ladies working at lunch are loaded with personality. While the lunch pasta bar looked rough, the large chef salad we started with wasn’t. It more than fed two of us and had fresh, crispy romaine rather than cheap iceberg. In addition, the veggies were fresh and the dressing was good. We also ordered two large sandwiches: meatball and chicken parm, both of which tasted great. The bread was warm, the meatballs/chicken were tender and the sauce was tasty. For the price it was a steal. This place is an extremely laid back spot that doesn’t know what the meaning of fancy is. They don’t even let you pay till after you’ve eaten. If you want to feel like a local and don’t care about nice plates, fancy meals and shiny menus come here and you’ll find value.

Had the steak special(steak, mushrooms, onions, green peppers on a hoagie) and was pleasantly surprised. Fries were decent, as were the prices. I love walnut baklava, so I had to try it, but was disappointed.

We’ve eaten here many times. I think their Basil’s pizza is the best pizza in the area. Great steak & cheese subs too!

We were stuck in town all week for work and had no time to eat out so we were forced to order in lunch every day. The first day someone offered to go to the«pizza place» in town and pick up some sandwiches. I was not expecting much but was shocked at how good my beef hoagie was. We liked it so much that we got lunch there everyday and twice for dinner as we were stuck at work and could not go out much at night. The pizza was just OK and that might be a little generous but the sandwiches and appetizers were really great! Thanks to the very friendly staff and the generous portions I gained about 5 pounds but it was well worth it. They take Visa and MasterCard with a smile and if you’re lucky the very nice woman behind the counter might start calling you hon after a couple days. Do not miss this great little place.
