I tried this restaurant for brunch recently. I’ve eaten at nearly every restaurant in downtown Royal Oak and this is by far the worst service and food of any restaurant in Royal Oak. To give some perspective we ordered very basic brunch dishes which took an hour and five minutes from the time that we placed our order. Not only did the food take a long time but part of our dish was undercooked. The restaurant was not busy and we ate at a non-peak hour. Our server didn’t bother to mention that the kitchen was busy or short handed and even failed to apologize for the undercooked food. With so many great spots to eat in Royal Oak I could never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Horrendous service and lousy food, it doesn’t get much worse than that. Skip this place and go to Café Muse, Lily’s Seafood, Town Tavern, Ale Mary’s, etc and you will be happy you did.

I just ordered a pronto salad with chicken and there barely was chicken, the lettuce was BROWN and the tomatoes were smaller than tomatos in salsa! This place is completely over priced especially since new ownership.

I am sorry to write this but poor management is just sad to experience. Sunday morning yesterday we attended the clay fest on the same street as Pronto so we thought we would have lunch. There was a steady flow of customers being seated ahead of us and the couple that came in just before us was seated immediately. We were told it will be just a few minutes to get our seats. The manager asked her to stop seating for now. So we waited and waited and waited so I explored the restaurant and found 12 empty tables inside and 5 empty in the 2 patios. Now 20 minutes have past servers are coming to the hostess and mentioning there are tables in there stations that can be seated. Her response was that she could not seat anyone yet; go figure; there are at least a dozen now to be seated and those coming in were told 30 minutes or so to seat and many walk-outs. So we discussed this with the manager on duty and we stated our given time frame and expectations were sadly missed by now. No explanation or apology for the delays. He did pick up his pen and offered to remove us from the waiting list. We took him up on his rude offer.

Pronto has a surprisingly good brunch! Reasonably priced and they have a Bloody Mary bar! Also great mimosa specials… Every other table has a bottle of champagne on it and they give you free orange juice refills. I’d def brunch here again!

Came here over this past weekend in between bridesmaid dress shopping with a party of 8. I was surprised for a place in Royal Oak to not have a wait during prime brunch hours, but the service shortly explained why. We ordered two bottles of mimosas to split and it took about 20 – 30 minutes before we received them which is ridiculous, especially since the place was not packed. Also, it’s brunch hour, mimosas and bloody’s should be on deck as it is the standard brunch beverage! I will admit the food was delicious, but service is a key influence as to whether or not I return to a restaurant especially when there are so many options in the area.

This place has really gone downhill. Such a shame because it used to be my favorite Royal Oak restaurant. The last few times I have been in the service has been absolutely terrible and the food mediocre.

The food is great, and so is the bar. Not a huge fan of square or rectangle plates but food is still good. You can’t go wrong with this Royal Oak staple for food, or drinks.

If your not a pretty gay man do not expect to get good service. After waiting 14 minutes for our, I assume waiter, he dropped off waters and left for another 15. Not one word from him. After 30 minutes of waiting for our beverages(3 bottles of champagne), I had to ask our waiter what his name was. He dropped off the Bloody Mary bar glass without any explanation. The food was SUBPAR& took 32 minutes for sandwiches. The manager(yes, I confirmed with the hostess who hadn’t washed her hair) walked by our 6 too at-least 10 times without a word. I was embarrassed that I suggested this place for brunch. Never again.

Pronto used to be one of my favorite Royal Oak restaurants, but it’s sadly gone downhill the past few years. The food isn’t as good and the service is usually poor. I think what’s worst is the service you get when you try to place a bakery order. We got our wedding cake from Pronto back in 2004, and over the years, we’ve ordered birthday cakes from them too. The last time we tried over several days to call in an order for a cake, but we never spoke to anyone. We left a few messages asking that someone call us back, but they never did. We finally went to the restaurant and asked if we could order one there, and we were told we couldn’t. The lady said we could buy one if they happened to get some in that day. That was a few months ago and we haven’t been back. I think we’ll give Pronto another try sometime this summer, but it’s too bad that it’s not a place I’d recommend anymore.

Sub par is the best I can describe this place as. There were six tables seated, one got up and left because no one waited on them. Our sweet potato fries were cold, a soup and chocolate milk were forgotten, the«garlic Parmesan» fries were literally fries with parm poured on top, no garlic to be found, I could have ordered fries and dumped Parmesan on them if that’s what I had wanted. I can’t see any reason to ever go back, what I was served could have been thrown together in my kitchen with ease, and probably tasted better.

Anytime I’m in Royal Oak, I feel like I have to stop by Pronto. My first time here was during the summer of 2015 and I’ve been hooked ever since. The menu has a very wide variety of options so sometimes I feel like it’s hard to choose what to order. If you go to an Italian restaurant or a burger joint, you would have an idea what to order before you get there, but Pronto sells everything so it’s always a big decision for me. My boyfriend loves their Quesadilla. I believe it’s cranberry, apple, and chicken. I love their turkey burgers and sandwiches, mexicali dip, salsa & guac. Get dessert, you won’t be disappointed. I got a piece of chocolate cake for my birthday and it was so so so good, the slice was HUGE and the chef wrote a heart on my plate with chocolate syrup. I thought that was cute. If it’s decent outside, sit outside! You’ll have a much better experience being outdoors and feeling the breeze. Brunch is always a good time as well. The pancakes are huge, the omelettes are also really good. You can order bottomless mimosa’s for $ 15 which comes with a full bottle of champagne and refillable orange juice! Personally I love the service, my boyfriend and I like to have Brandon as our server, he’s very knowledgeable, and anytime we’re not seated in his area, he’ll at least stop by and say hi to us. The only time our service was iffy was during Arts, Beats, and Eats. I wasn’t a fan of the limited menu but that forced me out of my food comfort zone and the sandwhich I had was great. Also, this day was the hottest day of the summer and they were very busy so I’ll be forgiving with the server.

I had a great experience. Service was fast, which was good since we were both starving! I tried a turkey sandwich, don’t remember the number but made a switch on it and they were very nice to change it. Tried the spicy fries as a side. The name is deceiving. Don’t get me wrong they had good flavor but no spice at all. Also had to try their HUGE cookie and it was delicious warmed up! I would go back to Pronto to try a different sandwich since they have so many options and to try another good looking baked good!

I really don’t hang out in Royal Oak, but a friend wanted to meet here to catch up and I decided to be open-minded. It was OK. I guess I’m confused about what they’re going for with this place? Like, it’s a deli, but then it’s a restaurant but at the same time, it’s a bar? The music was outrageously loud, so I couldn’t hear my friend even though we were there to eat and talk. I don’t know. Anyway, the food was decent. I felt like I could’ve gotten more for my money, though. Service wasn’t great. I don’t know if I would come back.

Af Arts Eats and Beats wanting to get out of the heat. Saw Pronto’s slimmed down menu and found all sorts of good food! We had gazpacho with a bit of mint on top with great chips then cranberry apple chicken quesadilla and black bean nachos. We shared all of it between us 3 and it was plenty, fresh and delicious! Our server’s name is Jai! Great guy and suggestions were right on! Thank you Jai and Pronto!

My mom lived in Royal Oak for a bit and she’s always told me how great this place is, so I finally went. I tried the pulled pork tacos and they were probably the best ones I’ve ever had. The thing that made them great were the beans they give you. A mix of sweet black beans with some corn and peppers. Even when I was full I couldn’t stop eating it. Some of the service is a little weird, but that’s okay, their desserts make up for it. Everything they bake is quite large and delicious. A cute place to have lunch or dinner with friends and take a walk downtown.

Oh so sad to have a poor experience here. I hate writing truly negative reviews, but my experience warranted the truth. In general, their prices are reasonable and you can get a bottle of champagne and unlimited orange juice for only $ 12. This past weekend however, was a disaster. Ordered a roast turkey sandwich with parmesan fries. Asked for no barbecue sauce, and instead a side of peppercorn ranch. They didn’t bring out my ranch until I asked another waitress, and there was barbecue sauce on the sandwich! The«parmesan» fries were dusted with a low quality gritty cheese. The worst part: the waiter charged my card my meal price of $ 14…AND my entire table’s meal of $ 43. He did not tell me this. I saw the extra charge when I got home. The manager assured me on the phone that he had made a mistake, and said the charge would be dropped in 3 – 5 days. That happened, but the money was still taken out and they offered nothing for their mistake. Also, the waiter knew he made a mistake and never said anything when he brought my card back. This type of service won’t get my business again, which is unfortunate.

3.5÷5 stars so I’ll round up to 4. I had heard their food was very good, and a friend and I went here today since apparently EVERYDOWNTOWNTHAI place is closed this weekend for Memorial Day weekend. I had been craving a burger for a while now so I ordered the basic one, and added sautéed mushrooms. Everything is a la carte and a charge for toppings, which was kind of annoying, even pickle chips, though you do get a pickle with your burger. I also upgraded to sweet potato fries, and both that and the burger were good. They have an outdoor patio area which looked nice, although we dined inside. Their desserts also looked really good though I didn’t buy one since I was going for bubble tea later down the street. I’d come back here again but the entrees are a little pricey. My friend got a pretty basic brunch plate that was decently priced though, about $ 7.

Despite the awkward start to our trip, contributed(most likely) to the Arts, Beats, & Eats festival going on in the streets of downtown Royal Oak, our overall experience was great! We were sat inside and weren’t really attended to for a few minutes which almost made us choose another locale. But once a waiter received our order, the entrees came out quick! I got the Pronto! Pasta(macaroni and cheese) and it was phenomenal. Great flavor, texture, and overall look. A hidden gem of metro Detroit for sure. The pasta compares, if not exceeds, the Mac and cheese of Slow’s BBQ and Union Woodshop.
