I’ve gone to this McDonald’s a couple times in a row on Saturdays with a bunch of teenagers for my job. Shift leader Will has served us both times and is so patient and friendly. It’s not easy to take orders from seven kids who are changing their minds but he gets our order right and is very kind. He is kid friendly and very organized, which makes the trip way easier for me.

I know it’s a McDonald’s; but my goodness. This place is so slow compared to every other McDonald’s I’ve been too. You’d think that the long wait would mean a hot meal too… Nope, slow as heck, cold and every now m then the wrong order haha.

This McDonald’s is CONSISTENTLY the worst McDonald’s I have ever been to. If you’re in the area go to the one on Rochester rd instead. The service is terrible each time, always forget sauces, napkins and straws. The food is always cold and fries mushy. Last time I received a burger with 2 bottom buns. No top. This last visit will be the LAST. Oh and you’ll wait in line for hours. So slow

Slowest drive thru I’ve ever experienced. It’s easy to see why; the«drive» has a «DONOTBLOCKDRIVE» sign that prevents the next person from pulling up to order. This slows down the entire process and is not«fixable» without construction. I have literally been in breakfast line for 18 minutes. Their stats won’t tell you that, though, because the queue is so long. And there was only a total of 6 cars in line. ABNORMAL for McDonald’s, for sure. But formulate your own opinion; you’ll see what I’m talking about.

They have a baby grand piano this McD is like no other Ive been too. It’s an ok establishment I need to use the bathroom and some emergency oatmeal cookies. Definitely an eclectic clientele partially for my review number to be so low. This establishment is not that clean. The employees were very cheerful and nice. The bathroom smelled old and dirty. Not clean and cared for. Hopefully my review can get them to chest it up a bit.

I go to this Mcdonald’s a lot because its the closest one to my college. Am I the only one who notices the employees do not wear their uniforms? The staff is extremely rude and the place is a filthy mess. There are no excuses on why any of the employees can’t clean the tables and remove the mess up on the floors when there are absolutely no customers. The place is not even busy to begin with. I don’t understand why the drinks are warm from the fountain station and then I’m forced to get a ton of ice which makes my drink diluted. Overall The performance of this restaurant needs to step up.

Worst McDonalds Ever! Nothing is ever fresh, staff is rude, and they’re always out of everything!

Worst experience I had at this location. Had a simple order 2 Mcchickens, medium fry and a medium sprite through drive thru. Drove home to open sandwich and find it was something else. Came back through the drive thru to say there was a mistake. Mind you the young lady was not in uniform and had a tank top on. She snatched the sandwich, yelled to the back that I need a McChicken and rudely said go to the second window. The young man at the 2nd window was polite and apologized for her rudeness and the incorrect order. Although this is not 5 star dining, I do expect employees to be in uniform and at least to be polite. For a young lady to snatch a sandwich out of an adult paying customer or any customer is not acceptable. Needless to say I will not be back.

Experience could not be worse. Went in there for lunch today at 1:30pm. Menu still had not been changed to the lunch menu after breakfast. Luckily I knew exactly what I wanted anyway. The cashier kept trying to tell me I meant snackwrap and didn’t know anything about what was actually on the menu. After about 5 minutes of trying to find the McWrap in the computer, the manager was called over to help. Ended up taking a 3rd person to figure out how to enter it. After a bunch of voiding and re-entering it due to showing the wrong total, the proper amount finally came up on the screen. I specifically went to McDonald’s because I didn’t have my credit card on me and had to use ApplePay. The cashier and manager duo couldn’t figure out how to allow me to pay with my phone and after this 15 minute ordering process I had to walk out without any food and drive in a snowstorm to the next location. This location consistently disappoints.

I have never been treated respectfully at this McDonalds location. On more than one occasion I have left this business irritated by the way the staff behaved. Whether it’s being able to hear the staff openly make fun or me or the guests that I am with or being harassed for my phone number by the drive thru employees.

I don’t have a lot of vices. I don’t gamble. I don’t smoke. I don’t imbibe in alcohol. No illicit drug use. But I do have a mad addiction to McDonald’s Diet Coke. Say what you will about cans and bottles… a fountain cup of McDiet is carbonated ambrosia. Each McDonald’s location has machines that perfectly dispense the correct amount of liquid into the cup. There are dummy lines on the cup that tell McWorkers how much ice goes into the cup for the perfect pour. But at the Royal Oak McD’s, they skimp on ice consistently… and there is always an inch of empty cup. I don’t think that it’s an ice shortage issue, being the dead of Detroit winter. I’ve been to locations around the area, and they get it right. Even the one on the scary part of Woodward in Detroit. So why do I keep going to the one in Royal Oak? It’s convenient. It’s right by my kid’s school. And I don’t have to get out of my car. I complain each time they skimp on my McDiet, and they will sometimes give me a new one. But I’ve been told they can’t do anything because they are«short-staffed.» One other gripe… items you can get 2 for a dollar. Like apple pies. If you say«two apple pies,» they charge $ 1.50(since they are $.75 each). If you want the discount, you have to specifically say«two for a dollar apple pies, please.»

A decent McDonalds. Decent service and friendly staff. Also a pretty good drivethru. Biggest gripe? They never seem to know about Foursquare specials. Always an ordeal to redeem one… the person will ask to take your phone to show to the manager and verify it. In their defense though, they DID give me the special. Just need to make their employees aware of them and how they work.

One of the better Mickey D’s in the area. I really shouldn’t be eating this stuff cause its not good for you and I have to admit the beggars that hang out in here can be annoying, as there is a low income/homeless shelter nearby. However, the service is good and for the most part it is clean. They are typically very fast. I realize its McDonalds but this was worth it.

Hey, about two months ago they fixed the drive-thru minefield. A lot better. Still an odd drive through experience as it’s built out in a figure 8 but the service is usually pretty quick.
