do not trust this man. I was selling some of my walt Disney classics collection and when he was going through he found an item I told him was not for sale and scratched it of the list. he then listed a similar item on the list and took the item I declined to sell. it was later that I found the item gone and ask him to return it he told me to «go on ebay and buy one». DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY! dishonest and a thief!

If you are an animation fan, this is a «Must Visit.» Pieces range from original Disney animation cels to posters and sculptures from Looney Tunes and more. There are also rock posters and other entertainment collectibles. There is something in just about every price range, so this is a good place to find a unique gift for someone.

I was first drawn here because after calling 6 different local Royal Oak framing shops, Bob at Gallery Animato gave me a price less than half of what all the others were asking (he even gave me a deal on top of that substantial quote when I was paying for the completed project).
I just wanted two items (sheets of uncut dollar bills) framed with glass and black wooden framing. Very basic. When Bob took me to the back work area, he pulled out a few frame samples to give me a choice of thickness. I appreciated that he didn’t try to sell me on anything special; he pulled out exactly what I asked for, even though I saw he had a very wide selection of samples. If I wanted to get something unique or specific, I now know I would check here first.
He let me make a decision without rushing me or trying to up sell. Once I made a frame choice he said it would be about two days and that he would call me whether it was finished or not.
Two days later in the morning I received a call that they were ready (right on time) & when I picked them up, he took the time and precaution to make me aware of some bubbling of the sheets since, unlike most other items brought in for framing, they were not glued to the board on the inside (which would devalue my items). This was very considerate and, especially after walking out the pieces himself to my car for me without my request, it is very apparent how experienced they are & much genuine care they take when working with others’ valued items.
The finished product was perfect & for the perfect price! Would definitely recommend this place for everyone’s framing needs.

Gallery Animato is a great gallery with unique pieces. The owner, Bob, is an amazing guy with lots of knowledge on various pieces of art from rare movie posters, animation cells and Disney memorabilia. If you are looking for ANY movie poster, Bob probably has it, or can tell you where to find it.
Gallery Animato is also a great place to get your artwork framed. Bob will recommend the right frame, matte and glass for your piece. Bob will often recommend the most affordable option first and let you know other options available. Don’t be fooled by big chains and their % off frame deals. Most pieces can be done at Gallery Animato for under $ 100.

Not only is Bob a framing expert, but his prices are reasonable and he has a keen eye for selecting the exact right frame, matte, and glass type for your pieces. He does very creative work and is both an expert at framing and someone who can handle your valuable artwork with great appreciation and admiration. If you have been putting off framing pieces for a long time due to cost, the quality and pricing of this frame shop are so fair that I would highly suggest you contact them and get a quote. I have paid more than twice what Bob charged me for work that was not even as good. In addition, the artwork he sells in his gallery are reason enough to drop in the next time you’re in Royal Oak. Specializing in all kinds of nostalgia from rare movie posters, to original animations of your famous cartoons, to some of the most collectible rock art posters from the 50’s to present, I highly recommend Gallery Animato and give them a full five stars for excellent service and immaculate framing work. I plan to do all my framing here from now on, even though I live in Ann Arbor. Finding a great frame shop like this is like finding a great mechanic who is also straight-​forward, fast, but not at the expense of risking your valuables, extremely knowledgable about his craft, and extremely fair with pricing; when you find someone like this, you should refer them to your friends, which is why I am posting this review and recommendation on Gallery Animato’s behalf. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a great mechanic that would complete this analogy (if one truly exists), but Gallery Animato is the best frame shop I have ever used, and that is saying quite a lot.
