5 stars for Cathy. One of the kindest most engaging and hardworking servers you will ever meet. Terribly sad to see this has place has closed and I can’t visit my old friend. The food was always good but I honestly can’t remember it too well cause I would just always walk out happy and satisfied. Hope to see you soon, Cathy.

Sadly, this place has closed after a tough winter, I guess. We’re very sorry to see it go. It was the first place we ate when we bought our log cabin in Roxbury. :-(

I’m embarrassed that I haven’t done a review before this. We go to the East Branch regularly, especially every 3rd Sunday when Katy fixes biscuits and sausage gravy. Out of this world and biscuits and gravy are not that easy to find up here in the Catskills. The regular serving of this delight is either just the b & g or with eggs and taters. Well, today I was feeling creative and they were very accommodating to fix me a swiss, ham, and sausage omelet along with biscuits and gravy. PLUS, I had the biscuit served with the gravy on the side so I could put jam on the biscuit before I smothered it with gravy. I was in heaven. I suggested that they add this to the menu as a regular item. All of their lunch menu is awesome with some very creative sandwiches. For those nights that they are open for dinner, it is amazing the type of high-end meals that they serve. Like eating in a 4 star restaurant. This is by far one of the best restaurants in our part of the world.

A recent long(holiday) weekend included a stop here, and I was excited based on the Unilocal reviews. My experience was totally forgettable. We popped in on a Sunday(keep in mind, Monday was a holiday, so the town was pretty full). Apparently, they don’t turn on the pizza oven on Sundays. Which means that ½ the menu(pizza, hoagies, calzones, etc) weren’t available. We got the special, which included pasta salad that was just… weird. Too much vinaigrette and full of odd processed food items. It brought me back to midwest picnics and not in a good way. I’m guessing its fine any other day of the week but I won’t bother finding out.

My girlfriend and I drove a half hour out-of-the-way to get to the East Branch Café, having read that it was the best restaurant in the area. After we ate, I was planning to take her into the mountains and propose to her. So, the pressure was on. The East Branch Café came through big time. My patty melt was outstanding – rich, well-cooked, and well-balanced in its flavors – and my girlfriend loved her sandwich too. The two women working there were friendly and welcoming, and the environment was homey and felt very authentic. Afterward, with my nerves significantly improved by the hearty lunch, we went into the mountains to a frozen lake, I proposed, and she accepted. So, I strongly recommend the East Branch Café, which we definitely plan to visit the next time we are in the Catskills.

This is my new favorite place! Adorable old school diner. The staff is very welcoming and the food is freshly made(we saw the 2 women darting back and forth preparing our meals in the kitchen). We had: Roast beef with cheese on a roll Mini cheeseburgers Sweet Potato Fries Regular fries Chicken wrap with feta and lettuce Spinach with garlic Homemade Coconut Pecan Pie with Cream Cheese Frosting(insane!!!) All was super yum and fresh. We will be coming back again later in the week!

This is our favorite restaurant in the Roxbury area. When we are there we eat at the E.B. almost every AM. Terrific blueberry pancakes, REAL maple syrup, can’t be beat. A great find. Also wonderful watercolors by the NYC artist Susanna Clemm on their walls.

Much better pizza than you find at many of the corner pizza places in NYC, very friendly service, and free wifi, but be warned they close between lunch and dinner for a few hours(at least in the off season). Also good to know is that it is BYOB and there is a gas station next door to pick some up at.

The pizza is excellent, and my wife loved her banana cream pie Very friendly service, a decent menu, and great prices. A good place to eat, and a much better choice than Cassie’s.

After a bad experience at Cassie’s Café, we headed to the East Branch Café for lunch and found friendly, attentive service and great pizza pie. We ordered«the Brooklyn» — portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic and basil pesto — it was great. Hot gooey cheese, great taste combo from the toppings and delicious crust. East Branch Café saved the day. Highly recommended.

This was our second dinner of the night because we made the mistake of going to Public first. We split a Plain Jane Burger with Swiss Cheese, Bacon and a large side of fries. The berger was amazing and full of flavor. The staff was so sweet and helpful. By the way the prices are perfect. This is our new favorite spot up here.
