I liked the sesame noodles which were a bit different. Also pretty garden setting in the back.

We came for what we thought would be a quick lunch, WRONG. We ordered two Panini’s and two panini combos. Should have taken 15 minutes, as there were only three other couples there. We waited for over an hour and only stayed because we were in the country n didn’t want to seem like inpatient city folk. That’s just the service, now on to the food. Roast beef was bland n looked like old gray meat, the few chips that came with meal seemed stale. Gf had the smoked salmon n there were two shriveled pieces of sliced supermarket salmon. The salad that came with the sandwich was a few pieces of mangy lettuce. The Italian sandwiches were average, but dry, nothing to write home about. In all, there are better options in the area, my hope is that you find other alternatives.

Beautiful new interior and I love the tables on the patio out back. The menu looked good. The porch out front is exceptionally nice spot to have a snack and watch the town traffic go by. The milkshake was great and I look forward to eating a real meal next time. Really nice atmosphere!

New restaurants are always welcome and sorely needed. This one is a keeper. It’s located in a beautifully renovated building with indoor and outdoor porch dining. Inside, the café has a killer ice cream counter and cookie/bakery display, plus a spacious, sunlit dining room that winds through multiple spaces that is shares with the Martin Lerner Gallery. The art on the walls is for sale, as are the displays of books, sculpture, crafts. There’s a jewelry counter too. Some of the dining tables are hand-painted in the indoor dining room. The front porch has little tables and huge hanging baskets overflowing with colorful flowers. Everything feels fresh and new. Food is good, a work in progress at this early stage. We tried one of the $ 7.95 panini sandwiches, which was actually a sandwich and not very panini. It was generously stuffed with a huge portion of sliced roast beef that was not heated through. The bread was crispy and tasty but not served warm enough. Other paninis on the menu: Grilled Cheese, Turkey Pesto, Italian Melt. For appetizers, there’s a $ 4.95 crostini that lets you choose four from a list of nibble items. Instead, we opted for the $ 6 pork dumplings, which were good but overpriced — especially when we saw one of the staffers walk through the dining room carrying a bag of frozen Chinese dumplings that probably cost $ 3.95 at most! But Rachel’s Sesame Noodles, at $ 5, were good too and the portion size was okay. When I go back — and I will — it would probably be worth ordering one of the $ 6.50 platters: Gourmet Cheese Platter, Catskills Cheese Platter and Hummus Platter. They each list a variety of items to go with the cheese, eg, fruit, olives, crackers, etc. Regular sandwiches are $ 4.95, ranging from Smoked Turkey and Apple to Ham and Brie — they all sound really good. Don’t miss dessert! The café serves Jane’s ice cream, which is made in Kingston, which is about 40 minutes away. Some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had. A cone costs $ 1.62 and you can get a nice shake too. Gorgeous locally made cupcakes too($ 2.75). Cookies are $ 1.50 each. The café doesn’t have a website yet, so go to the Queens Mountain Café Facebook page, which has the full menu posted. This darling spot is open every day but Thursday. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
