I thought is was Amazing today haven’t been to this place in a long while, The last time I went to this place it was empty I had more art pieces at my own house LOL it does have so much more potential they will get more rep if they found more funds for this place for more new amazing exhibits

This museum trip was a bust. It was a Sunday afternoon, the resident museum guy. Resident because he actually resides there. Well. not that much of a bust. it was somewhat informative but my expectations were WAY too high. The name of the museum sets precedent. You think you’re walking into something GREAT when in fact it’s just alright. Don’t get me wrong. This museum has SOOOO much potential and it’s a shame that it is going to waste. With funding and new art work, this museum would improve, but I honestly do not know how it is still open and running. There’s barely any art. Go see for yourself. $ 4 for adults $ 3 for students and elderly. I originally thought I would see visual art from african american artist worldwide, as well as african american history and culture. I was wrong From the outside it is a beautiful building. The sculpture eternal presence is the first thing you see. It is beautiful without flaw.

MFA is underfunding this place, I was told their email only works 50% of the time, no voicemail. I tried for two holiday seasons to order cds from their online store and didn’t receive the items I ordered. The museum itself is in bad shape as well which is a shame considering the artifacts that could be enjoyed by the public.
