The other review is correct. A friend was told that their child would be placed and then she was told that they never told her that. BIG LIARS. No accountability, no transparency.

I really do wish there was a way to submit something with no stars.
This place is completely disorganized. They can’t get anything right. You give them requested info (paperwork)…they lose it. Almost instantly. There also does not seem to be anyone really in charge. Just a bunch of people working with no leadership towards an imaginary finish line. Does’t matter how they get there. Just that they get there.
I also believe that placement is gamed a bit by those with connections. Be it here or the participating schools. I’ve seen folks, who sign up their kids days after birth, get ridiculous placement (invites) miles and miles from where they live. While those who are connected via their position in govt or have a buddy at METCO or a participating school system sign up their kid 1 year before and mysteriously get placement in neighboring communities, think newton/​brookline. I’ve seen it time and time again, so it’s not just coincidence.
They can deny it all they want, but there is no transparency at all. At least the charter schools have a lottery which is held at open events (although I’m sure there are ways of gaming that. Think multiple entries for the same kid).
So if you want to try this, go ahead. But don’t hold up hope if your not connected as mentioned above.
I would suggest this be your avenue of hope, Charter School (apply to any and all), Move, METCO, BPS, Private School.
