This place is ridiculous. Staff are rude and they change their name and menu about every 3 months. Apparently this chinese restaurant sells, subs, pizzas and mexican food too.(Its a lie but they advertise it in their menu). Don’t even bother asking for their updated menu because they increase their prices all the time for the same damn food. I don’t even know what their name is now. I think its called 2:30am based on the last menu I got from them hahaha

The food is okay, but it doesn’t make up for the terrible service. The delivery man was extremely rude, almost so much that I didn’t want to pay for the food and send him back with it. He called me at 2:20 telling me my food was here, and at 2:22 one my way down the elevator, he calls again yelling«YOUORDEREDCHINESEFOOD?» I reply«yes» and he yells«THENCOMEGETIT». I’ve never been so angry with a delivery man. I literally wanted to hurt the man for being so rude.

Disgusting! The rice is nasty. No flavor whatsoever and it’s red. I have NEVER seen red fried rice. What the hell is that? 22 dollars My order cost Me. The chicken was greasy and tasteless. The ribs tasted old. The crab ragoons had minimal stuffing. You have to pay extra for different soda other than pepsi. They charge too much money for such nasty food. Will never order from them again. I guess they don’t think they have to put an effort to push out good tasting quality food due to the area. Save your money and go somewhere else. The entire order is going in the trash! Keeping the pepsi. The only thing good about the order. Although it was warm and going flat. China Bo NEEDS to do better!!! GIve better food for their customers. They seem not to care. Perhaps a huge reduction in business will change that but there are those out there who lack taste buds who enjoy the taste of slop.

Food is average and the delivery took over and hour and a half… in fact, as I write this I am still waiting! This is the second time this has happened to me. I won’t order from them again.

I’m giving them two stars because the cheesecake bites saved my night. I just finished eating literally 6 minutes ago. First off, the driver got lost because the person who wrote down my address apparently can’t spell. As a result I had to wait 30 minutes longer than they said it would take. After waiting I not only find that they got my order wrong, but my chicken was NOT cooked all the way through. I’m giving them 2 stars again, because of the cheesecake bites.

I can’t tell how good this place is. not because i haven’t eaten here, but because when i ordered take out, they brought me everything(bubble tea and scallion pancakes) but my fried rice. And when i called the delivery guy back to see if he’d just made a mistake or something, he proceeded to yell«cannot do» at me about 20 times. what does that even mean? scallion pancakes were alright. a little hard for my taste. the tapioca in the bubble tea was a greyish color and mostly deflated and tasted like something from an eating competition off fear factor. yikes. definitely not the best experience, but they are open til 3 am. YAY!

WHEREDO I BEGIN? I gave this place a one star just for being opened at 2:30 in the morning. I work in a hotel and I know what it’s like to be hungry at midnight and nothing be opened. One of my guest stubbed upon this place by going on Unilocal. When the food came I was amped to know that there is someone opened this late. I figured I would try it do I would know if it was good if a guest asked me. So I called and placed my order. First they put me on hold for fifteen to place my order. After placing my order, they informed me if I want to use a credit card it’s an extra dollar fee. No biggy, I was cool with that. Once my order was paid for they didn’t tell me how long it was gonna take, they just hung up the phone. Now mind you, it’s one in the morning. So at like 2, I’m like«where is my food.». I call them and they he’s twenty minutes away. So I wait the twenty minutes but my foods still not here. So I’m pissed. At 2.45, I’m pissed and hungry, so I call them again. They put me on hold to call the driver to see where he is. Once again they say he should be there in two minutes. So I tell them to just forget I don’t want the food and I want my money back. The man on phone says just hold on the driver will be right there. Once again I tell him I dont want the food and I want my money back. He hangs up on me. So now I’m extremely pissed and the driver shows and he laughing saying we were busy. I told him I don’t want the food and to take it back. I told him I don’t think having to wait for an hour and a half is very funny at all. He says we were busy and that I only waited for an hour. He’s still laughing as he leaves the hotel. Moral of the story, I will never order from them again and nor will I recommend them to any of my guest. Now I have to argue with them and back about getting my money back. WTF!!! All this just for Chinese food on a Wednesday night. I DON’T THINKSO!!!

So its been a couple years since I’ve revisited this place. I’ll admit, I was hungry one night a week ago and it was late. So late that there were like three places open. I had ketchup, pickles, and some pepperoncini in the fridge with rice and pasta in the cabinets. For the life of me, I couldn’t come up with anything I could make with that, so I thought I’d give China Bo(aka No.1 Chinese Food(on Foodler), and Chinatown No. 1 on some other menus) another shot. So my late night excursion went well. It only cost me $ 14, and for a reported 45 minute delivery time, the driver was there in 12. I was amazed. I was like wow. This is awesomeness at its best. The food was the same as I had remembered. Nothing special, but it hit the spot. It hit the spot so well that I thought I’d order from them again. So that brings me to tonight. Its wet and miserable outside. I have, once again, no food in the house unless I want to eat my dogs yummy lean lamb dried food so I placed an order. My order was placed at 6:11PM with a promised time around 6:55PM. So I got to chatting with a friend of mine and before I knew it it was 7:33 and there was still no food, so I gave them a call. The gentleman answering the phone was curt, and I could hear a woman repeating my address in a distant echo.(probably irrelevant to this review, but it was odd and worthy of mentioning). The call lasted seconds and I was told my food was on the way and that the driver had already left. So I finally get a call from the delivery guy at a couple minutes past 8. He’s speaking Chinese to me on the phone. I don’t speak Chinese. But I am reasonably confident that this is my driver and my food is outside waiting for me. A quick look out the door and yes a car is in the delivery slot on my street so I go and pick up my food. The food was not cold. But, it wasn’t exactly hot and everything I was hoping for. I will admit I was hoping I was going to be able to give them a 4 star review – I mean, what other Chinese restaurant actually asks you how you’d like your Scallion Pancake cooked(Not hard is my choice)?! But alas, its time to put China Bo on the back burner for a while again. Maybe I’ll give them another go in a few months, or if I need something to eat at 2AM on a Wednesday.

This place is alright as long as you stick to the basics. The Beef Teriyaki was really good, fried rice was decent, crab ragoon was ehh just ok, and the chow mein /chop suey was nasty. Delivery was pretty quick too and they stay open very late which is a plus.

Rewind six weeks: LK: HOLYCRAPGUYSLOOKATTHISMENU I JUSTFOUNDOUTSIDETHEYDELIVEREVERYTHING! CHINESE! MEXICAN! ITALIAN! AMERICAN! MAILORDERBRIDES! Laura J/Erin K: WHAHAPPEN!!! LK: Yeah. I would NEVER. It doesn’t even have a name — just a phone number — to nowhere. Flash Forward to tonight: LK’s inner monologue: I would very much like to eat some buffalo chicken wings while I watch the end of the Pat’s game, but I’m at work ’til 9PM — let’s see who will deliver. StubHub Query results: One restaurant matches your criteria. #1 Chinese, Roxbury. LK’s inner monologue: Hmmmm. Let’s check you out, #1 Chinese. Oh, you do have Buffalo Wings… and tacos? And burritos, BBQ wings, hotdogs, burgers and garlic bre… OHMYGOD… IT’S YOU. Dilemma/Life Crisis: I can’t order from you, but I can’t order without you. On the phone, 14 Painful Minutes Later: LK to EK: Hi, if I order buffalo chicken wings will you and LJ eat some? EK to LK: Where from? LK to EK: Don’ worry ’bout it. EK to LK: Sure LK’s Inner monologue: OK, so buffalo wings are $ 7.75. $ 10 minimum for delivery… so… I’ll just add this small order of Crab Rangoon… and this garlic mozzarella bread… and this large order of Loss of Dignity. Mmmmhmmm, I think that’ll be all. Thirty minutes later food shows up almost hot and surprisingly better than just edible with the following sides: Sweet and Sour(Crab Rangoon, OK, cool) Bleu Cheese(For the wings, about 2oz. Way to be stingy) A complementary order of white rice(Wha?) Soy Sauce(OK, for the rice?) Several packets of Ketchup(WHA?!?) This is not an excellent takeout establishment, as I decided early on when I found their menu adhered to my North End sidewalk with the aromatic glue of Trash Day. The garlic mozzarella bread had a weirdly spicy kick to it, the Crab Rangoon was about standard for mediocre takeout in Boston and the wings were Chinese-style wings doused in Buffalo sauce — all of which served its purpose by filling my belly. Buffalo beggars can’t be choosy, right? Nebber say«nebber.» Available on StubHub! $ 10 minimum. No Delivery Fee!

So it’s Boston, I was lucky that one place was open at 2:00 and delivered. I can’t remember the last time I ordered from this place… probably because I was drunk and it was 2am. Considering the circumstances, the food was pretty darn good. I just ate some leftovers(sober) and they were okay! Everything was identifiable and pretty fresh looking. The beef teriyaki was actually better than most I’ve had! They even included 2 free sodas and the standard rolls(always makes me go hmmm). Free soda=Good shit, though. The delivery guy did make me come downstairs and did not come out of his car, but maybe he’s had a bad experience considering the neighborhood they are in. The food is kinda expensive, they charge a delivery fee, but they are the only place open until 2:30am that delivers to my house. I would recommend them after midnight when you’re starving or in need of cigarettes and crab rangoon. (note: they always leave menus on my door that say«Chinatown #1» not«China Bo» but they are same address, same phone number)

China Rice, as far as I can tell, is the ol’ standby Chinatown #1. I say this based on the sketchy delivery menu and the speed at which ‘Take out Available open to 2:30AM, ask for Sushi and cigarettes’ is delivered. Most of the food is pretty on par with mediocre delivery with a few outstanding touches like the can of Pepsi OR Coca-Cola and the fried pork egg roll which will instantly clog your heart and make you smile.

Okay, I didn’t get sick while eating there so I gave it a bonus star. I would give the food quality a 1 star. Bleh. I ordered food from there for one reason: they deliver cigarettes at all hours of the night… To be fair we have only ordered from there after a night of substantial drinking… Although, you’d think that would improve our opinion of the food… huh I have gotten a few items there and every time I feed them to the dog and cat-no really, literally. Bleh honestly, dunno why anyone would order from there except that they deliver at all hours.

What makes China Bo amazing is they deliver very late. It isn’t the best food around, but when you’re getting back from the bar and have a hankering for some crab rangoons, China Bo is the best place to call. They are fairly cheap and a quick delivery. Not satisfied with your meal? They will actually go out of their way to make it up to you. I have much respect for this little place for satisfying my friends’ beer munchies.
