Breezeway Bar & Grill

So, I wanted a meal that wasn’t from a pizza joint, and wasn’t too heavy, that was within walking distance.
I had heard that Breezeway had a kitchen and menu (who knew?), I was skeptical, as I only knew Breezeway as a very troublesome, rough club.
I went on a Sunday afternoon. What a pleasant experience. All the lights were on, and I actually got to see the space, it’s really small. Tiny. Anyway, it was clean, no bar odor, and there was a Chicago Step class happening. Very cool people, no problems, and the area really isn’t all that «sketchy», anyway. It’s an urban neighborhood– geesh.
I checked out the menu, lots of choices– appetizers, pastas, steaks, salads, etc. I chose an appetizer plate, and a beer.
Very tasty fried goodness. Salad was ok, they used iceberg lettuce which doesn’t work for me, I must have field/​mixed greens. I’ll definitely try a steak or pasta dish next time.
One complaint: I told the limited English speaking waitress that I didn’t like or want «those big, full chicken wings». I prefer the buffalo wings or drumettes, or mini buffalo wings, or whatever you call them. She said these would be buffalo wings. Well, they came out and were just what I didn’t want: the huge, full chicken wing that you have to actually break up– uggggh!
I had a blast watching the step class while I ate. Cool.
I’ll be back to eat, Breezeway, but of course, it will be during daylight hours!

Excellent wings. My margarita tasted like dishwater. I dont usually send stuff back no matter where I go. Yea the place is in the middle of the «hood» but hold your own and you’ll be ok

The food was good here and they have a fairly nice setup (except for the pool table room-​wayy too cramped), but like the previous reviewer stated, be aware of your surroundings. Pretty sketchy crowd/​area. A member of the staff made me feel quite uncomfortable while I was here and I left pretty quickly after that.

Good place to just sit and chill, Alot of roxburys finest go here so just be aware of your surroundings, other then that i went there 2 weeks ago at night and had a few drinks and had the Sampler Platter was really good tasted like somthing you would get in TGI FRIDAYS, APPLEBEES Chils etc, its kind of small place but not too bad, The bar looks really nice and has a unique feel to the dining room area, if your ever in the area of good olé Roxbury check it out…

If you want the best wings north of the south this is the place for you.
Huge, Moist, lightly breaded wings are the star of the show!
Spiced just right, served either regular or smothered in homemade hot sauce.
Wash it down w/​a cold beer= heaven.
