Went here for breakfast for the first time today. It was packed but we were told the wait was 15 mins and it only ended up being a 5 min wait, which was great! Food takes awhile to get to you but it’s home cooking, so that’s to be expected. Food was pretty good! Staff is prompt and friendly. We sat at the counter and I found it ironic that their sign up front says to «…leave your problems outside and relax.» Apparently that doesn’t apply to the wait staff, as directly across from us, one of the waitresses was on her cellphone bawling her eyes out with makeup running down her face. According to the other waitresses it was about working… blah blah blah, take it outside like the sign says! Other than the crying waitress, good food and we will go again. Would be nice if counter had purse hooks underneath.

Love Hubbard’s Texas Café & Grill. Get the grilled pork chops & eggs, yummy! Awesome service and the owners work so hard to ensure all is great. They truly care about what you want and take everything, good or bad, to heart. Got to love them!

Most of the time our experiences are good. We like to come here for breakfast every other week. The day sometimes varies. However the weekend it is always so so packed. If I was to complain about anything, they fill up your coffee constantly! I have a sugar and cream ratio that I like. Every time you top it off, I have to figure it out again! Lol thanks for being an awesome restaurant though!

Saturday brunch was so good! Service was great, they sat us quickly at a table and kept my coffee cup full and hot! Had 2 egg breakfast with sausage which was very good. The biscuit and gravy was good. My daughter had blueberry pancake short stack which were a good size. She had a side of bacon which came out crispy and very tasty. Overall very nice staff, fast service, and some really good food. Can’t wait to go back and try lunch!

We’ve been dining here for over a year. We mostly go for breakfast, which is their busiest time. But the AYCE fried catfish draws us in on Friday or Saturday evenings. Breakfast is noisy and crowded but in a good, hometown way. These kind of diners are harder to find than they used to be. The waitstaff are primarily local highschool kids so while they can take your order for adult drinks, someone over 21 will be serving you. Everything is good. When I want a healthier breakfast besides my usual chicken fried chicken with eggs, bisquits & gravy I can order a build your own omelette with spinach, tomato, and swiss cheese. It’s a true Texas diner from the atmosphere to the fare. Very reasonable prices. Rarely have we had to wait more than 3 minutes for a breakfast table and lunch and dinner are much less crowded, although I don’t understand why because the food is good at anytime. I would have given 5 stars but I always find the salad bar somewhat lacking in variety. But the homemade pies more than make up for it! Comfort food haven!

Tried lunch this time, it was kinda awful. Slim selection. One of us had the club sandwich and the other had chicken fried chicken w mashed potatoes. I would not go here for lunch. The breakfast on the other hand is outstanding and I highly recommend their breakfast.

I am so angry with the red headed lady manager, if she is called that,. I go to breakfast by myself every Sunday and then go on a do errands. She refused to seat me today because I was alone. How rude! The food is usually just ok, prices a little high, but very convenient. They will not get another dime from me. Discrimination is against the law!

I’m kind of surprised by the ratings this place has. Having moved to Rowlett it’s pretty conveniently located right off 66. Now I’ve been here at one of the worst times(Sunday brunch– all restaurants are packed with a mix of church families and hung over people) for a restaurant, and at a dead time(2pm on a tuesday). Both times we were sat immediately. Ample seating and a ton of pretty servers constantly rotating with pots of coffee for refills. I would describe it as a southern diner that serves breakfast all day and happens to cook some dinner items. It is not a fine dining establishment. It has typical breakfast foods, and in a true Texas fashion a whole section of Mexican breakfast dishes with a case of pies as well as house made tamales. This restaurant is a gem. It’s decorated in tons of tin signs, sports memorabilia, and takes a nod to roadside diners of the past and has a country feel to it. Most of the servers are obviously young, so be patient and just clearly explain what you want. I have not had any issue here. You pay at the counter when you’re done. Go for breakfast, drink coffee, and if you have reasonable expectations and a positive attitude everything’s gonna be just great!

I think this place is great! My choco milk was tall and flavorful like keri hilson except the tall part. My pancakes were fluffy, warm, and orgasmic to the bite perfect pancakes. For some reason the waitresses there were young and attractive so that’s a plus too. My little cousins thought this place was aight. if I’m ever back in rowlette I’m eating here!

Worst eating experience ever! All of our food came out about five minutes apart from each other. They forgot my son’s breakfast. There was a hair in my daughter’s chicken. Hubby’s grits were cold, lumpy and out of a box. I had a salad and they even managed to screw that one up! Horrible service, friendly but that’s about it. Asked for a to go box three times, never got it. First time ever visiting, got griped at for paying the waitress instead of at the not visible, unmarked cash register. I was a waitress for five years and am always very forgiving of things. Literally every time a plate of food came out, something was screwed up with it! Will never ever be back!

Hubbard’s in Rowlett Texas We stopped in once for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfast was great. Huge portions fast excellent service and tasty. Lunch was a busier time of day so the wait was longer, but I’m okay with that if the food is worth it. My burger was pretty good, but the onion rings were really chewy tough and tasteless. The chef’s salad my husband ordered he described as having no heart. The quality and care in preparation left something to be desired. Oh and if you want more than 2 lemon slices for your tea be prepared for an extra charge!

We do brunch on Sunday as often as we can. I hope they expand the building. Parking is always overflowing when we go. We love the owners. They are both friendly and run a great café. Food is delicious. We had Western Omelet and French Toast. The food is wonderful then we also ordered the Memosa it was good too. The wait staff are beautiful, I hear some of them are Cheer leaders for High School in Rowlett/Garland. They are dressed casual and they are very attentive and friendly. I Love this café.

This place is so awful, one star is being generous. I had the hamburger steak with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was extremely over done. The gravy came from a jar and was too salty. The mashed potatoes were nothing to write home about and full of lumps. The green beans came from a can and had no seasoning whatsoever, not even a simple grain of salt. The only thing left to look forward to were the big, fluffy rolls and they were a massive let down. They were tough and had no flavor at all. They needed a healthy pinch of salt in the dough before they were baked. If you’re looking for some good, home style, Texas cuisine you’ll want to pass on this one. This place would be a great project for chef Robert irvine on Restaurant Impossible.

We haven’t been to Hubbards in a few years because the food was either under or over cooked, cold or seasoned too much. I thought we would give them another try, it had been three or four years since we’ve been there but things have not changed our breakfast was ice cold we will not be back
