Gone!!! We went to my go to Noodle joint today and they were closed down. I’m totally crushed the place is all papered up in the windows and from a small opening I can see the inside is under major construction. They already have these photos of designer dishes posted on the interior of the window but NOTINTERESTED! What happened to unique bomb noodle and dumpling. If anyone has any information as to where the cooks and service staff went reach out! AATF would like to see my old friends. Sad and hungry!

The pork bao zi here are good, some of the best in the area. But the service is ruder than most Chinese restaurants and this is coming from someone who speaks Mandarin and frequents SGV restaurants. I’m guessing that’s why their rating is relatively low. So if you don’t mind possibly getting yelled at, definitely come try the food.

Very good northern Chinese restaurant. We ordered Dalu noodle, green onion pancake, bao zi, and potstickers its a good quantity for 4. Very pleasent environment, the taste is localized so won’t be too salty or greesy. We’ll come back.

This has to be the most underrated dumpling house in Rowland Heights. Hint: Don’t compare it to xiao long bao because this is not a xiao long bao restaurant! Come open-minded! This restaurant offers a large variety of dumplings that are fresh made upon ordering. The visible dumpling making area gives hungry customers something to look at while waiting for their food. –Service: can be rude and unhappy. It depends on their mood for that day and time. –Ambience: Mm… ALMOST never crowded and great AC. –Food: Yum. Noodles are okay. The spicy beef noodle is fun to eat since they offer the hand-cut noodles, but be warned, the soup is thick, very spicy, and quite salty. I believe it is meant to be that way to compliment the thick cut noodle. Dumplings: Pork and leek(Pot sticker & steamed): Both VERY good. Lamb and wolfberries(Steamed): Very good, but they’ve been skimping on the lamb lately, so it’s a small nugget of meat in a pocket full of lamb herb juice. Still good. Pork and mushroom(Pot sticker & steamed): Okay Pork and pickled cabbage(Steamed): Okay Appetizers: Green onion pancake here is thicker and contains more green onion than other restaurants. Good Pickled cucumber: standard Cold bean curd: Refreshing and good

This place is definitely a miss. Noodle broth was full of soy sauce, thick dumpling skins and fillings were not delicious. Wine chicken was bad too. I did not enjoy my experience at all other than getting out of here. Try the places next door for better food/dining experience!

There is a time and place for everything. The time was today. The place was FFY Noodle House. Deco: 3 stars Inside this glass menagerie of handmade noodles lie a clean looking restaurant with all the designs and trappings of a pricy meal. Bold colors liven up the walls. The tables are of dark stain hues and modern lines. The servers are in black. And most impressive of all, a stark clean window opens up a kitchen of steel and shimmer for all restauranteurs to see what makes this place so unique. Like a magic mirror to a world forgotten, all diners are welcome to view the ancient, and almost extinct, art of noodle making. Food: 4 stars No one makes noodles by hand anymore. It is tedious and painful to do it by scratch; however, the result of eating such artistry is incredible. The noodles are chewy and bounce back with each bite. The love and kneed of the dough can be tasted with each roll of the tongue. The flavor is unparalleled and though you might have had noodles before, you’ve never had real noodles till it’s handmade. It is both a tasting and a texture experience to remember. From the different broth noodles of stewed beef and dry minced pork to the classics of pork & leek dumplings or beef rolls, the attention to flavor is memorable. Service: 2 stars What isn’t memorable however is the service. Like most Chinese restaurants, the service is to the point and a bit lacking in any compassion. They are there to get you food and get you the bill and that’s about it. Everything else is luck and special care. Price: 4 stars As mentioned previously this place looks like the food would be sky high but it is very modest, especially for the quality of food you get. Each dish hovers under the $ 10 price point and if you share some buns, 3 noodle plates, and an appetizer, the most you’ll likely pay is $ 16 a person for a great meal. This is what real value is. Conclusion By the musings of a good friend who smiled ear to ear when speaking of this place to the actual mastication of the dishes, FFY Noodle House is a great reminder that not all dishes are created the same. Though you might be able to get noodles just about anywhere in Southern California, it doesn’t mean they’ll all taste as good as ones made of love and skilled hands.

Pretty good place to get dumplings! Pretty fast service and the food also taste pretty good! They say they don’t use msg in their food, which is a good sign! I came yesterday with a bunch of people and we thought the easiest way to share among 7 of us was to just get a variety of dumplings hahah! All of them we got were all pretty good! I think our favorite was the shrimp tofu and the pork cabbage. Personally I like these little guys pan fried lol extra delicious and crispy! As for the other foods, I cant say much. I came here years ago when the first opened up… I wasn’t impressed with their noodles or dishes. So I stayed away from here till my friends wanted to come here to eat.

Tofu and shrimp Pot stick is very good, onion cake is good as well. Service is so so. Steam dumpling is too big, I rather have it smaller. Don’t care much about spicy beef stew noodle.

Came here with a friend for a last minute dinner. We were in the mood for a new Asian place and just happened upon this place and I’m sure glad we did. We ordered a whole mess of dumplings, potstickers and hot and sour soup. It was all great and very reasonably priced.

Really great restaurant. It’s rated A. The food are fresh and the service here is great. The quality of food is awesome. This place is really undervalued because it is so much better than din tai fun. Everyone should come here for lunch and dinner because this is the best restaurant in rowland heights.

Came here for a late lunch with some friends. Because they closed in the middle of the day to prepare for dinner, we sort of felt rushed. They made us pay before we were even done with our food. The food was nonetheless really yummy. I really liked their hand pulled noodle in their beef noodle soup. We ordered the thick ones with the beef noodle soup and 1 noodle was enough to fill our small rice bowls. My favorite items out of all the food we ordered were the Fish & Leek Dumplings, and the Green Onion Pancakes. The green onion pancakes were STUFFED with green onions! Best Green Onion Pancakes I’ve ever had! I also really liked the Fish & Leek Dumplings because the meat inside were really moist and they gave me the option of having them pan fried, or boiled. I got them Pan Fried. The meal comes with free chinese tea and the food came out super quick. I would totally recommend anyone to come here for a quick home style Taiwanese meal!

BAO for days. A hidden little gem inside the home depot plaza. this place has delicious bao(pork and leek). Everything else we had is decent, but the BAO. im telling you is addictingly good. I havent had anything like it before. Its not very busy, which i like. I can always go and get what I want, when i want. The food is cheap, the people are friendly. BAOFORDAYS People!

Arrived here on a Friday around 930 ish. They close at 10:00 pm but you think if you arrived early they would let u enjoy your food. Wrong — Once I sat down and ordered the waiter was advising me they kitchen closes soon so I need to order right away. WTH! I ordered the beef noodle soup and a order of dumplings of mushroom & pork steamed. The beef noodle soup arrived first and looked yummy. To my disappointment the beef was not cooked enough — tough & chewy, hand pulled noodles too thick, but the broth was decent. The dumplings had the same issue — too thick of skin but the inside was decent. What was very irritating is the waiter when he brought the food requested payment since they close at 10:00 pm I immediately advised him I wasn’t going to pay until I ate my food firstly! There were several other parties dinning here and non Asian and he was advising them the same which I thought was total crap. I wouldn’t return here in the future but would go to Sam Woo where they open later and are much friendlier to the customers. This place does not know how to treat customers!

CARBSCARBSCARBSCARBS. Dumplings, Noodles, Baozi, starchy, glorious CARBOHYDRATES… MMMMMM… Location: In this plaza with all the other Chinese restaurants. Though, you have to realize that there isn’t a clear sign that says«FFY Noodle House». The name is in Chinese characters and I forget what the characters are at this moment. However, it’s one of the most popular restaurants in the plaza and just look for all the ladies in the back who are rolling away hand pulling your noodles and hand folding your dumplings! Parking: Plenty Ambiance: Super clean. Great for couples and big parties. Dumplings: Steamed:(水饺) Got the cabbage and pork. Yummy. Pan-Fried:(锅贴) Got the cabbage and pork. Yummy. Noodles: They have your typical variety of Chinese/Taiwanese style noodles. Though, what I love is the fact that you can order«刀削面». Hands down my favorite. I ordered their 担担面. The sauce was alright… I’ve had better. Nothing compares to the peanutty taste at Lucky Noodle King. However, their 刀削面 was on point. Super Al dente. The waitress actually told me not to do it. But I was like HELLLZNO. I’m gonna do it. BESTDECISIONEVER. Make sure whatever noodle dish you get to get(Daoxiaomian A.K.A. Hand Pulled noodles) *Good spot. Worth checking out if you’re a fan of dumplings… *Shoutouts to the JYANG crew.

Not bad, not bad at all! Ive had my share of terrible chinese restaurants but this place gave me some hope. Not only were they polite and helpful about helping me, a vegetarian picked the best yummy veggie option but they were actually REALLY delicious ! My favorite were there hot and spicy soup! My veggie dumplings were not bad but the skin were pretty thick that made me full quick! My friends beef noodle soup looked so good– they make all their noodles by hand, being that its handmade it really makes a delicious difference! good food, great friends equals a wondrous time!

If you’re looking for good customer service to be paired with your meal, this place will not be up to par with your expectations, unless what you’re expecting is a non-smiling face that will do as you ask, but does not look happy doing so. Other than that, I would say this is a go to place especially for good(steamed & boiled) dumplings, and potstickers(pork & leek, especially). My personal favorite from their menu: their Spicy Beef Thick Noodle Soup, there’s two different kinds of beef noodles, but the one I’m mentioning is the first one listed on their menu under«Soup» — thick noodles, a generous amount of beef, topped with bok choy, a boiled egg, simmering in their spicy soup base with dried chili. Their Green Onion/Scallion Pancakes are softer than most places, not as crisp as some would like it, but I enjoy them because they’re actually not stingy with the amount of chopped green onion/scallions that they have in each slice of pancakes. What I love overall about this place, it’s MSG Free, so you’re not feeling dehydrated after your meal. Which is a big plus! Oh, but please note, just in case anyone is coming from afar wanting to try out the place, they close on Mondays. Only opened Tuesday-Sunday!

So I’ve visit 2 power house chinese restaurants this past week in the 626 East. One of the place being here, the other being Earthen. I’m glad I got to try this place first before trying Earthen though. Really put my opinions in prospective. Located in a strip mall with a bunch of other Asian restaurants, this place is definitely not one of those fancy smansy places. Not that it poses a problem for me, but wondering if a place like this had people that spoke good English is a little suspect. Seafood Steamed buns –For $ 10, they give you a like 8 of these. Filling was good. The buns were nice and fluffy. Pork dumplings –Traditional pork dumplings with cabbage. Fillings and dumpling skins were on point. Tastes just as good if not better than the ones my mom makes. It’s $ 8 for 10. Small price to pay for some fresh dumplings. These things are super tedious to make. Beef potstickers –Unlike Earthen, they use the same dumplings to make potstickers. The filling was juicy. Meaning when you bite into it, there were juices everywhere. It’s fantastic. Service was pretty good. The dumplings took a little time to come out. I want to believe that they are making everything on the spot. The dumplings do taste as if they were just freshly made(unlike Earthen). My parents actually recommended this place to me once. They are old timers, so it’s hard to impress them. And they really like this place.

Pinky felt like taking me to eat some dumplings last week, being underwhelmed a while back at Ding’s and him having gone here a few years back, he decided to take me here hoping it was as good as he remembered. Service was okay, nothing horrible or stellar just satisfactory. For the size of the place the restaurant was pretty empty which was either a warning or just a slow night for them. We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup with Wide Noodles, Pork & Leek Buns, and Pork & Scallop Dumplings — panfried. Spicy Beef Noodle Soup — when they say *wide* noodles they aren’t messing around, those things were over ½ inch wide! And pretty damn thick… I’d say almost as thick as a Wheat Thin. Which would be okay if the noodles weren’t so wide, but because they were super wide and thick it was just a shit load of dough for me that I found kind of unsettling. It all just tasted like the noodle was undercooked and the more I chewed on the noodle the more I lost my appetite. However, everything else in the soup was yummy and I would order this again only if I can get it with thin noodles. If not, what a waste of a flavorful soup. Pork & Leek Buns — these came out second and with so many in one order! The bun to filling ratio was well balanced and the filling was tasty, flavorful and juicy. I would definitely come back to get these for my parents. Pork & Scallop Dumplings — the dumplings came out hot & crispy while the filling was juicy and packed with scallops. Pinky however mentioned that he would have liked some vegetables in the dumplings because it would make the dish lighter. I’m always down for some more veggies so I agreed, however it would have also been better if the skin on the dumplings were rolled out to be thinner, even though the outside was crispy, the inside reminded me slightly of the wide noodles from before. In conclusion, I’d only come back here for the buns… the soup of the noodles was tasty, but I’m not that big of a fan for the Chinese beef noodle soups as I am for say… bun bo hue. Yet like I said before I’d order the spicy beef noodle soup if I can change out the type of noodle. In the end, it’s not a go-to spot for me.

The green onion pancake was very soft. I was expecting a bit more of a crispy outer edge. The dumplings were average. Nothing as what others have hyped about. The skins on the dumplings were very thick and when they cooled down a bit, the skins got to be a bit tough and doughy. It no longer had its soft outer layering. Though the one thing I do agree with other Unilocalers would be the portions. They have big portions and it was very filling. The hot and sour soup was okay. Not the best but not the worst. If it had a bit more salt, it would even out the acidity in the soup. Though I must admit, it was full of ingredients! The pan fried squash dumpling was interesting. Thought it was a vege dumpling but it had some shrimp as well as pork as a filling. Also, be warned, the pan fried versions are very oily. The beef noodle soup was pretty good. Wished it had a bit more vegetables in it though. Overall, it was a filling dinner. Not anything special, just a casual dinner. I do like that it is very spacious and clean. Bonus on the window of workers making the handmade dumplings. That made it a bit more authentic than others.
