This place is unbelievably dumpy. I have unfortunately had to come here for a family reunion A few times, and it never gets any better. The one saving grace was the food but this year it has gone down hill. At least the kids could be occupied in the arcade bowling alley, but this year they decided not to open it during the day. I assume its so they don’t have to pay someone five dollars an hour to run it. The woman at the front desk is terribly grumpy and has zero customer service skills. I hope I never have to return to the expensive dump. can you believe that after all I wrote that this place is actually expensive? yes it is! And expensive dump.

This will be my fourth year in a row venturing to Winter Clove in the winter with my friend’s family and«extended family» and it is nothing but a wonderful time! The original farmhouse was built in 1863 and the owners have chose to keep it homey and nostalgic. It’s like a humongous bed and breakfast only they provide all three meals if you choose to have them. There’s no TVs except in the common rooms on the first and top floor so you’re inclined to spend time with whomever you come with, whether it be hiking the wonderful trails behind the house, playing games or reading in one of the common rooms, or enjoying their indoor pool or brand new gym. They also have an outdoor pool, tennis court, volleyball court and golf course but I’ve never been there in warmer months. Let me not also forget they have a bowling alley and rec room across the house that’s open after dinner. It’s a wonderful place for friends and family and in the heart of the Catskills worth the drive and money for a fun weekend or week. There’s also plenty of fun stuff within a half hour to hour and a half from the place but you can easily lose the whole weekend there. Can’t wait for next year!

This is an awesome place to be. I went there with my husband during the halloween weekend recently and it was indeed a pleasant stay. We did the dinner, breakfast and stay for only $ 180 and the owner was just so sweet, she told us there is no rush to check out because she knows we are in vacation and are there to relax, the check out time was 11 but we actually checked out around 1 pm without any issues. Its like a family being there:) they cook for you and wait for u in the breakfast table :) everything was good. The food was yummy too… the only thing i would say is if you are a vegeterian, you might need to look out for another option for food, since they had only non-vegetarian choices for dinner. There’s a swimming pool and a bowling alley too and you are sure to enjoy your stay there. Rooms are clean and well decorated. we went hiking and the trails are well marked and going there during the fall adds to the beauty, there were awesome colors. I am sure to return there again :)

We got married at the Winter Clove and had an incredible time. Our family and friends could not stop talking about how beautiful and peaceful it was and how much there was to do on the grounds. Lenore was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with, and the wedding package was definitely reasonable. Vanessa, the chef, made great suggestions about the food, put out a great spread, and even threw in some extras that were perfect. The staff was professional and fun to be around. The whole atmosphere was really comfortable, and we look forward to returning for years to come!

Winter Clove is a tradition for my family. It is a truly relaxing place that makes you feel transported back in time to a simpler era. I have been coming since I was a kid and now bring my own child who loves it. The food is good, the accommodations cozy, the staff friendly, and the cost can’t be beat, especially with young children in tow. I recommend Winter Clove Inn for anyone visiting the Catskills.

I started staying at the Winter Clove when I was a kid growing up on Long Island — I believe an old ad in the«Long Island Catholic» was the impetus. I’ve now returned as an adult with a family and we enjoy Winter Clove all over again. Realize that its not the fanciest place, the food is okay, but the kids love it(and they are now in their 20’s), the activities are varied, there is entertainment, we love the golf and there is a lot to do in the local area(see the Mountain Brauhaus). Lots of places in the Cairo/Round Top area are long gone(Pickwick, Dellwood) but the Winter Clove endures.
