TKO Nutrition

TKO Nutrition has a very nice staff but the «Island Breeze» 16oz smoothie unfortunately didn’t taste well at all when compared to other well known smoothie establishments like Jamba Juice. It tasted nothing like fruit and was too sweet (29 grams of Sugar). I understand this smoothie may have other benefits like high protein (23 grams), carbs (32 grams) and vitamin c but I was expecting more of a fresh fruit smoothie place.

Definitely my favorite and 1^st stop after the gym. Very knowledgeable, great stick of supplements and absolutely bed smoothies! Get the Elvis Presley.

Rich and the whole team at TKO are the most educated people in their field. Every time I go in there they have answers to all my questions along with suggestions about how to better achieve my goals. I haven’t found another store that can touch their prices either. TKO Nutrition is the most straight-​shooting supplement store I’ve ever walked in to. There’s no gimmicks or false advertising. You know exactly what you’re getting. I’ve been a customer for 5 years and don’t plan on going anywhere else.

I never go to GNC since I discovered TKO. The prices they offer are always competitive with, if not consistently lower than everything else that I’ve seen out there. The people who work there have a good idea of what they’re actually talking about and the products they’re selling in comparison to what you might get at other nutrition shops.
When you make big purchases you’re always valued and get something like a free shake, shaker cups, free shirts or free samples of other products. It’s not a huge deal but it’s icing on the cake of an already well priced store that actually seems to value your business.
They must treat their employees right too since I’ve seen the same handful cycled around locations in the past couple of years I’ve been to them.
No other nutrition shop in Austin will get my business or a recommendation from me before TKO!

I went in as a first time customer and asked for the Lean Effects. The gentleman was polite but did not go out of his way to help with any suggestions for weight loss when asked. Seemed preoccupied with merchandising store. Wasn’t bad but did not seem concerned with making a long term customer.

I’ll start off by saying that I’ve been going to TKO for about 3 years and I’ve been to every location. The main reason I go is for the smoothies… I lived in CA the past year and tried my hardest to replicate them, actually. Utter disasters. Yes, I can mix water with powder, but even with rice milk, soy milk, real fruit, fruit purée, etc etc, I couldn’t get it even close! And that explains why I’m basically addicted… they don’t even taste like protein!
Pricing is expensive but tolerable. I will say that before I left Austin they were a lot cheaper, considering I buy my own tub of protein and am really only paying for water, rice milk, and pureed strawberries. But since I’ve come back they seem to have gotten more consistent and strict on pricing. $ 2.50/smoothie no matter the size; I’m sure they’re more expensive if you use their protein (I think it’s $ 5, which would make my price seem a lot more fair, but I’m not positive since the last time I asked was about 2 years ago)…
The staff, for the most part, are personable. I have a few favorites that always greet me by name, ask how my day is, and even remember other select information that I wouldn’t expect anyone to keep track of… like getting married, trips out of town, random tidbits. Some are a little stand-​offish but not in an offensive way, and I’m a quiet person so sometimes silence is welcomed. I’ve also overheard conversations re: supplements, workout routines, and dietary advice and, at least to me, they seem overly knowledgable.
Overall, I would definitely recommend TKO if you’re looking for a **TASTY protein shake**, wide variety of supplements, protein powders or packaged healthy snacks. They’re never busy (any locations), and are relatively quick with convenient locations… especially after a post-​workout :o)

I cant say I agree with the other review. In fact, everytime I have been here to purchase products theyve been very helpful and nice.
Its a tad more expensive than online but thats the price of getting products right now.
As for their smoothie service, I cannot review because I have never tried them but if you want them to be stoked to make you a smoothie try JambaJuice, theyre all jacked up wheatgrass!

This place is one of the best! I am very much for saving money and supporting local business, so shopping at TKO is a win-​win for me.
They always have new supplements, and interesting products that I don’t see at some of the bigger name corporate chains; all top of the line. Their staff has been super helpful every time I go in also… Specifically, Evan and Des really know there stuff and always give me really good advice. I’ve never been unhappy with one of their recommendations…
My biggest reason for shopping with TKO is their prices are reasonable, and if someone else happens to have a sale, THEY ALWAYS PRICE MATCH FOR ME… Half the time they beat the competitors price. For this reason, I won’t shop elsewhere. My loyalty lies with TKO.

EVERYTHING IN THIS JOINT IS OVER PRICED!!! Workers attitude? They act like they’re doing you a favor by making you a smoothie. Please! Cocky people overhere! I save my money and make my own power shakes. Don’t know how to make a good recipe for shake? Go to youtube. Lots there.
