Storagemax Boat & RV Storage

This was by far the worst encounter with U-​haul we’ve ever had. We reserved a U-​haul about 2 weeks ago for our move this past weekend. Things were filling up so we ended up with a reservation at a dealer, Storagemax instead of one of the actual U-​haul locations. We had it set up and got email confirmation for our reservation for 8am Saturday morning. Friday night (before the move) my husband gets a call from the Storagemax location asking if we were still coming for the truck. My husband explained that our reservation was for Saturday morning and we would be there then as indicated in our confirmation email. They guy responded that they would make note of that and the call was ended. Saturday morning (day we are confirmed via email and reconfirmed via phone call for our reservation) my husband is there right at 8 to pick up the U-​haul and there is no truck available. They gentleman there says he sees our reservation but simply can’t help us as he has no trucks available. My husband inquires, what are we to do now and the guys just responds, «I don’t know, I can’t help you.» No offer of refund of our deposit, no offer of assistance of any kind locating a truck, and no offer of reimbursement of the mattress covers we prepaid for with our online reservation. We had to contact U-​haul to get our money back (which is fine, had the gentleman even given us that information). Overall, this experience was extremely frustrating as we had our move planned out with that truck in mind. There were no trucks available anywhere else so we were left empty on the only possible move day for us. Very disappointed in how this was handled. It seems the guy running the place on Friday knew full well they weren’t going to be able to assist us and left it to the guy in the morning to deal with. We will not go back to this location especially considering there was no effort made to correct the issue, AT ALL.

We used Storagemax to rent a U-​haul trailer for a family vacation. Staff were very friendly. Check-​in and check-​out went without a hitch (no pun intended). Trailer was in great shape and worked wonderfully! No complaints at all!
