DONOTGOANYWHEREELSEFOR A BRAZILIANBLOWOUT. I went by Unilocal reviews because people say they drive here from out of town, they get a better price, Shamara is professional, and guess what? They’re all correct! I’m white, so you may think my hair is easy peasy but since I had kids some weird, funky kinks came in that don’t fit with the rest of the growth patterns. Plus, my hair frizzes something awful in humidity. I got my first blowout in June 2015, a couple of months back, and just booked another for Sept. My hair was pretty flat-ish the first 10 days and I was starting to wonder if I really like it and then BAM it was suddenly like my old hair, but smoother, easier to manage, easier to dry. I do use Paul Mitchell heat seal plus the sulfate-free shampoo line Pureology on it to help it last. PS: it takes me roughly 1.5 hrs for the whole deal, start to finish, just so you know.

I love Shear Envy, Shamara, and her Brazilian blowouts so much that I drive from Dallas to get my hair done! I’ve been going to Shear Envy for 4+ years of which 3 of them I’ve lived in Dallas and make the trek down south to spend the best 90 minutes and $ 150 of my life on my hair. My hair dries faster, looks shinier, and feels healthier. I cannot live without a BB now! Shamara is so sweet, funny, flexible, and a true gem. I can text her my schedule as to when I’ll be in Austin and she finds the way to fit me in. She’s professional but also very personable. The salon is comfortable and easily accessible. The space is not the typical salon wherein you hear other conversations, blow dryers blaring all around, and/or rushed in and out. We like to watch TV and laugh at reality shows or talk about the cute new movie stars. I’ve had other BBs before but they’ve cost more, aren’t as straight, and/or don’t last as long. You cannot go wrong with beautiful hair at a very reasonable price from the best stylist!

My experience here was fabulous. The price is affordable enough to keep you coming back($ 150 for a brazilian blowout) Shamara is professional and hard working. If you need to come in, she will find a way to squeeze you in to her schedule. Someone who values my time earns my business. The actual blowout gives great results as well. Be sure to use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. I switched out to my old one, and noticed that my blowout started fading. Should have listened to Shamara! Hidden gem in Round Rock.

I loved this place. The owner was super super nice. I had my little chihuahua with me and she let me bring it in. I was glad because I didn’t want to leave her in the car. The owner was very attentive to making sure I felt at home(if the temperature was okay, if I needed to change the channel to the tv, if I would like a soda or wine to drink while she finished with my hair). Very nice lady. And quaint little place. I purchased a groupon for a brazilian blow out, which is why I came to check out the place in the 1st place. This was my first time doing a brazilian blow out(I have very thick long black hair). It was amazing. My hair was done so well, super silky, super smooth. 3 months later my hair is still looking good, but I’ll probably need another bbo pretty soon. Great quality hair treatment and very nice place.

I admit I am a deal jumper when it comes to Brazilian Blowouts… they are costly, even at $ 100, but so worth it. I usually get a couple a year in the warmer months, but when Shamara posted her last deal on LIving Social, I had a credit and jumped on it. Funny that it was raining last Wednesday when I went in, so it made it more worth it knowing I’d come out not looking like a fluff ball. Of the four stylists who have performed it on my hair, Shamara has definitely been the best.(One was overpriced, one left the solution in my hair which lead me to have to wash it out in the middle of the night, and one was a drama queen with masks and fans all over the place). Shamara has a great sense of humor and the time flies by with witty conversation as she does her magic. She charges $ 10 for a trim and even tapered my hair in the front and went back and fixed the trim when I discovered it was a little uneven. She said she is not doing the deals anymore, but even at $ 150, it’s reasonable enough that I am pretty sure she will be doing my next one. Since I live way south, it’s an excuse to sneak over to Ikea while I am up in Round Rock. :)

I’ve been going to Shear Envy for several years now and have never been disappointed. Shamara is wonderful. Can’t figure out why she has almost 50 reviews, all 5-stars, falling under«filtered». That many people can’t be wrong! You won’t be disappointed at this salon.

I have been a client at Shear Envy for 3 years now and my hair has never been healthier. Shamara, the owner, takes her time and is sure to be available at my appointment time. I am in and out in a reasonable amount of time and receive compliments on my hair after each visit. I also take my daughter who has had some breakage and her hair is growing back quickly and healthy. I strongly recommend this salon! I have an appointment tomorrow and will be sure to post a pic.

Look no further if you want the best priced and longest lasting Brazilian Blow Out in town! Earlier this year I bought a Groupon for the treatment and had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Shamara and getting hooked up with a fantastic blow out, tips for maintaining my long, curly hair and a stomach ache from laughing so much! I hate when stylists try to push a ton of products on you or add services on that you don’t need. Shamara was completely friendly, natural and talented. I went again last week to get another Brazilian Blow Out for the winter holidays and my hair looks like a million bucks! I will be coming back as long as I live in Austin for the stellar service and great company!

I originally started going to Shear Envy Salon about a year ago because I couldn’t pass up the Living Social or Groupon deal(I can’t remember which one) and now I’ve had my 3rd or 4th Brazilian Blowout about a month ago from Shamara. She’s awesome and I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do this process on my hair. My hair before: Crazy curls with the usual friz that accompanies it. It would take me a really long time in the morning to tame them. Even once I did get my hair straight, it would all go to crap once I stepped foot outdoors and the humidity it. My hair after: The first few days my hair is stick-straight. It’s so much easier to manage. It cuts my get-ready time in half. After about a week or so my hair has those«beachy waves» as mentioned by a previous reviewer. The friz is definitely under control and that’s my main goal and I’m extremely happy. I’ll see Shamara again in a few months. She’s absolutely great at what she does. She’s super nice and makes sure you’re doing well the whole time you’re sitting in her chair. I highly recommend her.

Shamara was one of the best stylist I’ve been too. Her customer service is amazing. I felt like we were old friends! Even better… I love my Brazilian blowout!!! I had it done before at other salons but she spent the time to do it right. I plan to return to get my Blowouts in 5 – 6 months. I will be sharing the word of her beauty services. So glad livingsocial lead me her way.

Used my groupon deal for the Brazilian Blowout. I am sad to see some of these horror stories as I had similar experiences at other salons before going to Shear Envy. The BEST blowout I have had yet. Almost two months and still frizz free just getting a little bit of curl back-but it looks kind of beachy which is nice. Time to set up my next appointment, I will definitely continue to go to Shamara! p. s. I liked watching TV versus myself in a mirror for 2 – 3 hours. She does have a handy hand held mirror and is always happy to take it out if you want to take a peak. I also like that she actually calls back promptly and kindly to schedule an appointment.

I love Shamara! She straightens my hair and recently gave me a whole new style. She made lots of suggestions for maintenance and it has been a great do. Plus, her cost and schedule are all very reasonable and I typically have a pretty great time when I ma there.

I was on Unilocal looking for a stylist who had reasonable rates as well as knowledge and confidence to do my hair. First off, I was going natural with my hair but decided that it would be best for me to get my hair relaxed due to the career that I am in which requires me to keep it up all the time… I read all of the reviews on this salon as well as the comments Shamara the owner made in reference to some of the negative feedback that she received which I believe had more to do with other salons/stylists bashing her… but anyway, I had an appointment… Shamara saw me promptly as well as offering me some wine. She relaxed my hair as well as insured me that I would not have to stay under the dryer longer than needed(I can’t stand sitting under the dryer)…Once she finished relaxing my hair, she educated me on the damage that I had. Not only did she try to salvage my hair by not cutting it completely off, but she also offered me a game plan as to how we were going to get it healthy again such as products, appointments that I needed to set up as well as reassuring me that we would work things out around my schedule and financially. Shamara really cared about not only me but the health of my hair. I plan on sticking with her for as long as I can and will promise to show updates on my hair status…:) Check out my photo under my profile to see the«Do»! Thanks Shamara!

Very disappointed because I bought two groupons for brazilian blowouts — I used one right after i purchased it. My brazilian blowout went okay, however, I was disappointed that it seemed to grow out very qiuckly. Since then, I went to another hair stylist who did a Matrix relaxer on my hair — this has been a lot more successful. Since I didn’t need the second brazilian blowout, I gave the 2nd groupon to my daughter. She called and tried to get an appointment, and could not get one before the groupon expired. It was as if Shamara didn’t want to work with her. She wanted her to come in on a week day, but my daughter works at a school and could not come in during the week. As a result, the groupon expire — I guess I’m out $ 99. This was a very disappointing experience.

My first experience with Shear Envy was because of a Living Social deal for the Brazilian Blowout. I had been hesitant to invest so much in a treatment I hadn’t had done before, but I will be back and happy to pay full price after my experience. Shamara was awesome… and so is my hair. As a mother of 3, I’m looking forward to not having to worry about straightening or even styling my hair for that matter for the next 2 – 3 months through the summer. I know we’ll be at the pool, and I hate feeling like I look like a drowned rat when I leave; now, I won’t! Her prices are more reasonable than I’ve seen elsewhere. She has a new client!

I had gotten a Living Social deal back in the fall to get a Brazillian Blowout from Shear Envy Salon because there was a deal for $ 99, which is a really great price in terms of Brazilian Blowouts! I have had a Global Keratin Treatment done before, and I was under the impression that this was fairly similar, but I prefered the results with the Brazilian Blowout. I normally HATE going to get my hair done at salons, as I can’t stand the small talk that stylist push on you. Normally I’d rather sit on my phone or read a magazine, instead of being constantly asked about my work and life, things that I can only assume most stylist really don’t care about. Shamara was probably the first stylist I REALLY enjoyed my time with! We talked and joked for the full 90 minutes the process takes, and the time went by really fast. She did an awesome job on my hair, I left with super silky smooth hair, and a bonus I didn’t know was that with the Brazilian Blowout you don’t have to wait to wash your hair like you do with the Global Keratin treatment. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

Went to Shear Envy for my Brazilian Blowout and am super happy! Love love love it! Shamara was very cool, and fun to talk to, and the procedure was quick and painless. Plus I came out with silky smooth, awesome hair! The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars is because live WAY down south and the salon is WAY up north! So far!!! It’s also kind of hard to find, but that could be the fault of my GPS… who knows! If they had ½ stars it would be 4 ½ ;) I will be back for my next blowout! ** Updating My review because I moved and now I live super close! 5STARS! :)

Alrighty, so this is an update to my original post. I did return to Shear Envy for my Brazilian Blowout– and I’m glad I did! My poor hair was in sad shape, because I have an illness and my hair is fragile– but the Brazilian Blowout made it shiny and many people complimented me on how healthy it looked after Shamara did her magic. I don’t know if I’ll ever relax my hair again– but I don’t need to if I keep up the BB. Thanks, Shamara, for doing a wonderful job! ps– time to color again… see you soon!

As another reviewer said, the location is pretty odd(right by a convenience store in a gas station, got late trying to find it). However the service beats any location drawbacks and the interior, while basic, is quite clean and nice. I too bought the Living Social deal for Brazilian Blowout and it’s amazing how well my hair turned out. The stylist Shamara is very friendly and did a great job. She also trimmed my ends at no extra cost. Loved the free wi-fi in the salon. Will definitely be going back any time I’ll be in the area.
