Omni Environmental

We recently had Omni Environmental test some samples of our ceiling for asbestos. Steve was great to work with — very friendly and prompt to respond to every question! The instructions for sending off the samples were quick and easy and he made every step of the process a breeze. Our results were emailed 10 days after we sent off the sample in the mail. Yay! I’m asbestos-​free!
I highly recommend the folks at locally-​owned Omni Environmental for any of your asbestos testing needs. Although my home was built in 1985, I didn’t want to take any chances of having asbestos before removing the popcorn from my ceiling.
The entire process was easy. I dropped off a small sample of popcorn ceiling, and they conveniently emailed the results back to me in less than a week. The service was friendly (both on the phone and in-​person), and when I had questions about my report, I was pleased to receive a timely (same-​day) phone call from the owner himself. (Wow! That’s a way to win over customers!)
My friendly advice to Omni would be to (1) add a one-​line summary of the end results, (2) add 0% in any columns where 0% applies (vs. leaving a blank space), and (3) add a legend for any acronyms used on the report for clarity.
So glad I found this place! Keepin’ Austin weird — and asbestos free!
Pro Tips:
+ You only need a 1−2-teaspoon sample of popcorn ceiling in a zip-​lock bag.
+ It’s best if you remove the sample when it’s dry (ie. not watered down before you remove the sample).
+ Omni Environmental is cash/​check only.
+ «NAD» stands for No Asbestos Detected. (Woohoo!!)
