Kawaii Ice is my absolute favorite shaved ice in the whole world! OK, it’s the best one I’ve had so far, and you better believe I’m putting it to the test. I grew up in Austin, eating snow cones all around town. I have had them all and they were all all-​right. Until I discovered this hidden gem north of I-​35 in a suburb of Austin called Round Rock.

Haven’t had a snow cone or shaved ice in years. This is no ordinary snow cone shack. They throw down lots of flavor options. They don’t skimp and drown the ice with syrup.

This is a really good shaved ice place. They have a great set up with both a drive up window as well as a walk up window, (and plenty of parking near and around the building). They also have a decent porch with lots of lovely palm trees for that tropical island feel.
They have tons of flavors and different options, which was really nice. The prices weren’t too bad, and the ice was decently packed. They weren’t stingy on the syrups — a good combination for a shaved ice establishment. Four stars — we’ll be back!

My sister recommended this place and I am so happy she did I love this place I crave a icy or shaved ice every weekend my son loves it the flavors are so fun and so good this is a must try and round rock! The line is definitely worth the wait! You just try the kawaii special, there’s no other way to do it

The snow cones are good but the customer service is terrible. Pulled up a little before 8pm and checked the sign that says they close at 8:30. Other customers were there so we ordered. We sat down to eat the snow cones so we wouldn’t spill in the car. After being glared at through the window at 8:16 we were asked to leave! I’ve never been treated so rudely in a customer service business!

Great concept except for the unfriendly staff and seriously stingy syrup on the snow cones. I worked at a snow come stand and a typical cup with enough syrup to go all the way through cost the company about .50 to include the dang cup. We have a place in Hutto that ROCKS the shaved ice a syrup!

What’s not to love about shaved ice! Kuwai Ice has tons of flavors and you can add a scoop of ice cream to make it extra awesome. The negatives would be their cash only policy (I almost never have cash on me) and the limited seating area coupled with the aggravating bee problem (bee issue is not really their fault). The service can be a bit slow, too, but the shaved ice is amazing on a hot summer day and it is close enough to to enjoy regularly, so maybe I’d only give it 3.6 stars, but Unilocal will round it to four.

Was really looking forward to trying this place but when we found out they don’t accept credit cards we had to get back in our car and leave. Shame. It’s hard to imagine how any business can fail to offer credit card as payment method this day and age.

Always a great place for Shaved Ice on a hot Texas day. Even come here for a snow cone in Dec. Only closed for 2 months out of year! Great prices! Even better than most shaved ice places in Hawaii, the home of the shaved ice!!!

First visit. I liked it I wish I knew they had a drive thru before I got out the car limping. I hear many people talk about using the cream but it didn’t make mine taste like ice cream, and I thought it would be on top from other places I’ve seen. I’m getting used to these types of snowballs bc we didn’t have anything n like this in the VA/​MD area. Again I like it but it’s not my #1 yet. I have two other places to try
I have go back and change it to 3 stars bc I went the following day to try one with no cream. As soon as I pulled off from the drive-​thru I saw a piece of hair wedged in between the spoon and snowcone! I took it back immediately through drive thru they were very nice about it and they made another 1 for me but this time has turned me off and I can’t say I will be returning… They only get 3 based on the customer service because typically that would give them a one star

Hands down, best snow cone I’ve ever had. Not sure what it is — but this place is my favorite. I do wish they had more tables on the patio area (there are three), but the quick service, low prices, and drive-​thru are all awesome. Nothing beats a yummy snow cone on a blistering, Texas summer day!

I have been coming here since I was a kid and they were in a little shack. They will also be my favorite shaved ice place, I have NEVER had anything better no matter how much other people try to convince me. I wish I didn’t live in Austin, I miss coming here in the Texas heat. The shaved ice here just melts in your mouth. I know what you’re thinking, No duh, it’s ice! But for real, there is something different. I have also read other reviews that say they didn’t get enough syrup. I personally have never had that problem and have been coming dozens of times every summer for 10+ years. The only thing that sucks is they are cash only so don’t forget that when heading there! The water place next door is also great, the filtered water tastes delicious. It’s all that we use at home and in the office.

Cash only! This is definitely a good treat to cool off on a hot day. The atmosphere of this place is probably the best part. I love the outdoor seating, tropical trees and fun little signs. It’s definitely a good place to find shade and enjoying shaved ice. I got a medium shaved ice with cherry and kiwi and it was great! I’ve had shaved ice Matsumoto’s in Hawaii and this was just as good if not better. By the time I finished and got to the bottom, it was still shaved ice and not a puddle of syrup. I will definitely have to come here more often!

I’m being a bit of hypocrite because service always weighs in on my rating but this place has the bomb dot com, legit snow cones! It’s snow with yummy sugary flavor. The drive thru takes forever when it gets busy. When I mean busy they’re slammed at the drive thru and at their walk up window.
I don’t even want to think about all the artificial flavors and colors that are in the syrup but it’s a great summer treat. The ice is finely shaved so it’s not chunky. There’s flavor in every bite. My favorite is always to add cream too. It’s like eating ice cream at that point.
During my recent visit I got a medium Pina Colada with cream and hubby got Grape with cream. Hubby enjoyed his first taste of Kawaii’s shaved ice. He said his reminded him of the grape Popsicle with the cream in the middle. After such a long wait we still enjoyed it. Totally worth it.
