Had a very good experience from the moment I walked in. Ryan was extremely helpful and knows a lot about running shoes and foot issues, and is professional, genuine, and friendly. The shoes and inserts were a bit on the expensive side, but the last place I bought them at was Costco, so I’m not up on retail pricing. The store is going by the Karavel name now, so Brooks and other brands are available as well.

Our shoe guy, Kevin, was a big help. Very quick and professional, not to mention good suggestions for what I should/shouldn’t wear all day when I’m standing on my feet at work. I will definitely use this store again.

Small store Very limited selection. Much better off driving to the Burnet Rd location rather then waiting on them to order it in from the other store locations. Was pretty disappointed when they took my order but never fulfilled it.

Wow. We stopped here after checking out Rogue Running, and while the NB store is less hip, lacking spiffy industrial chic fitting stools, the employees were waaaaay more interested in actually helping us. We got greeted within a few minutes of walking in, and the guy helping us was all about finding out what we needed than cultivating his Austin ‘tude. We ended up walking out without new shoes, but mostly because my best friend has duck feet, not because the salesman was too busy being cool to help.

On 12⁄31 I bought a pair of running shoes from the New Balance store. I have been wearing New Balance for several years, but I had never purchased a pair from NB store. The staff took time to size my foot properly, come to find out I have been wearing the wrong type of shoes for years, which wasn’t a huge surprise. Yep, I paid a little more for this pair than the last pair I picked up at Academy. But the first time I hit the treadmill and realized what it was supposed to feel like to run in well-fitted shoes, I knew what I had purchased. But the story didn’t end here on 12⁄31. These guys didn’t earn their 5 stars just for selling me a decent pair of running shoes. They earned their 5 stars today, when 3 weeks after I purchased my shoes, and wore them nearly daily, I found that the sole of one of the shoes was coming unglued. Now, I have probably owned 10 pairs of New Balance over the years, and I have never had anything like this before. I packed up my shoes, found my receipt and prepped myself mentally for having to play a little customer service hardball. I had my sidestep rebuttals lined up in my head, my righteous indignation practiced, and even thought up my demand to speak to someone in charge. But when I walked in the store, the manager greeted me and immediately noticed the box in my hand. He asked me if I had some trouble with my shoes. When I showed him the shoe, and said I would like the exchange them, he immediately said«Yep, we can definitely do that.» He didn’t ask me anything about how it may have happened. He didn’t second-guess the wear and tear on the shoes. He said that defects were rare, but they do happen. He immediately went to the storeroom to grab another pair. He re-sized me to make sure I was happy with the fit of the new pair and handed me an updated receipt. That is customer service and the reason that I will definitely return there for my next pair.
