I like this course mainly because it was the first course I ever played at when I first got introduced to this sport about a year ago. I’ve since then played mainly at this course, with a few runs to other courses as well throughout the year, but 99.9% of the time I’m here. I like how there is a combination of different holes here, ones good for lefties, righties, long and short holes. No water hazards to lose your disc in… although a few holes are dangerously close to some fenced backyards(I’ve given some free discs to those people during my first few months of play due to some stupid throws). The central part of the course has A LOT of trees, so be prepared to bang up your discs if you aren’t the most accurate thrower! My favorite holes are always the long open field ones, where you don’t have to throw dead center and still get some decent results… since I’m more of a power thrower. Holes 4, 5, 10 and 11 are my favorites, as I can make use of my understable discs for maximum glide without worrying about nailing those damn trees. Almost aced hole 13 once, first throw ended up hitting the base of the basket(DAMNIT). All in all, I enjoy this course a lot. I come out here every week to get my exercise that I’ve lacked for the past 10 years of my life :/ Update: I aced hole 2 on March 5, 2015 with my 180g Champion ROC3, 2x Paul McBeth edition! :D

This is a really great course and offers a lot of variety. The holes can challenge you with their incredible distance and a couple will boost your confidence. The course is generally well laid out for the area, but can be challenging to navigate your first time if you don’t have someone helping navigate. Each hole gives you the distances and hole locations on a wooden sign. The course as a whole has good replay value. I’m also a lefty and am sensitive to courses that are biased for right-handed throwers. This course seemed to be well balanced for both lefties and righties.

Great course. Mostly wide-open holes, with a few twisty narrow ones for variety. A good amount of elevation change with several elevated tees(although not a single uphill hole). No water whatsoever, unless it has been raining, in which case there’s a small drainage ditch but nothing you could lose a disc in. Moderate level of difficulty — a good course for people ready to move past those easy nine-holers. It’s generally very easy to find your way around — around hole 5 being the big exception. This is a good park to bring the kids along. There are no major roads close to any of the holes, and other than disc golfers, most of the park users are joggers, oftentimes themselves with strollers. On that note, though, holes 6, 7, 8, and 16 are largely inaccessible to strollers due to very rocky terrain, although the rest of the course is fine for an off-road model, and there are easy paths around the holes.

The course and community are great, it was one of the reasons I moved to this neighborhood. I play Disc Golf often, so I know the courses. This is a good introduction to your DG Game by providing you varied shots and distances. This course may be simple when you«play it safe,» but it has a good risk & reward payoff system when you perform well with the risks; if not, it will break your heart when you are«in the rough.» It is a good course to play, walk, or follow others with. Lots of running and riding paths through the area, and they have recently added a parking lot for Disc Golfers, so please use it to eliminate parking congestion on the roadway.

Nestled among the Cat Hollow subdivision’s cacti, cedar trees, and rocky limestone ground is very good disc golf course. This well-designed 18 hole course meanders over a massive greenbelt. Holes vary from short and technical to long, open«field» holes. Overall difficulty is easy to medium. Beginners will have fun and more experienced players will be gunning for aces on about a third of the course. Because the site serves as sunken drainage for much of the Cat Hollow neighborhood, many elevation changes are possible. Several greens are elevated, and overzealous throws will lead to challenging uphill putts. The grounds are generally well-kept with good signage, benches, trashcans, and shade at nearly every hole. My biggest complaint is that tee-boxes are seriously eroded, exposing jagged limestone rocks that seriously impair wind ups on drives. Crowds are not as bad as most courses, and most slower groups yield for faster players. Summer evenings do get pretty congested, and there appears to be a pretty large Thursday night tournament that fills up the course. If you can handle the resulting heat stroke, the course is blissfully empty during mid afternoon. Highly recommended course for beginners and veterans alike. Holler if you see me. I’m the big red-headed goon throwing two yellow discs and carrying no bag.
