Thier gun department employees are a joke. 4 occasions within 1 year where i waited for someone to come help me to look at a firearm in the glass case and not 1 even acknowledge i was standing there, no eye contact, they just walk right past you. There always 5 – 6 guys standing behind the glass case acting like they are busy. I was the only customer waiting because it was early morning. Because of thier poor customer service I ended up purchasing all my firearm at other local gun shops which are very customer service friendly and they will work with you on the price.
I now just just go to gander mtn to look at thier gun sales then go to the local shops to price match or better. Still to this day, not even an acknowlegdement or eye contact when you browse thier guns in the glass case.
The more elsewhere i look I notice they over mark thier guns price super high. May want to price check your local small gun dealer before buying at gander mtn.

Stopped here en route to the ice caves. The staff was wandering around re-​arranging for the new seasons. We had to seek out help, but once we interrupted them, they were friendly and pointed us in the direction of things. They were quick to put a barcode sticker on everything we had (perhaps to track customer service?). It left a bad taste in my mind — like the employee was trying to get credit for selling me something I found on my own. I have worked retail in the past, I understand the pressure to sell things, but this lacked taste.
Aside from those comments, like any Gander Mountain, they tend to have most things you are looking for when it comes to outdoor adventures. And it was conveniently located off of the freeway. Glad to know it is here for next time I’m in Wausau.
