Decided to try it out for the first time made a reservation only to be kept waiting for an hour to be seated by a bunch of snobby bitches. After waiting for my app and entrée(that arrived late) the girl were so rude. Once i got my steak it was not cooked to my perfection and tasted like a Long Horns cheap steak. Not returning to this location again. Oh btw u better like cinnamon because they put it on everything! !! Cinnamon butter on steak, potatoes and cinnamon bread.. almost feel like I’m in a European coffee house.

Had dinner this past weekend. The restaurant reminds me a lot of Houston’s, even the formatting and lettering of the menu’s are similar. I was happy to see they had Jordan on their wine list, one of my new favorite red wines. We started off with some usual appetizers, nothing adventurous, crab cake and lobster bisque. The crab cake was wonderful, very light on the breading, packed with chunks of crab. The lobster bisque had actual pieces of lobster, so that’s always a good sign. My main dish was the rib eye, accompanied by a loaded potato and cream spinach. While the cream spinach was really good, the rib eye left much to be desired. To be frank, it tasted more like a NY strip than a rib eye. I might come back and try another steak, but for now I won’t be in any rush to go back.

If you haven’t been here for brunch yet you’re missing out! Amazing food and service, large portions of very high quality — you really need to go.

First time trying brunch here. The best in Atlanta! It’s NOT a buffet. We all ordered something different so we could sample everything, and it was all fabulous! If you haven’t been here you’re missing out. My new favorite place.

It was started out as questionable after waiting to be seated 25 minutes past our reservation, but once we met or server Haley our experience quickly changed. She was awesome! She was personable and attentive. Charming and intuitive. Then there is the food. OMG! For starters, I had the best Cesar salad I’ve tasted. My wife ordered a cup of lobster bisque. It was fabulous. For an entrée, Haley suggested the trio filet for me. A sampler of the three filets, cooked to medium rare perfection, with three of their famous toppings. Yummy stuff if you’re a carnivore. My wife ordered two started, the kale salad and mac and cheese for dinner. I told Haley we’d kill for the mac and cheese receipt. No luck. Apparently it’s a guarded secret. So we are pretty picky when it comes to service, food quality and quantity. Stoney River surpassed all of our expectations. A great place for great food.

Went back tonight after several years’ absence to celebrate our 10-yr Anniversary(made an Open Table reservation & noted that on it). The rolls were good but not quite as great as they’ve been in the past. Started with the blue cheese chips. Tasty but a bit greasy in spots. We split the Legendary filet(12 oz) served Oscar style. The crab meat & asparagus on top were fine, but nothing great. Our steak was supposed to be medium but was definitely medium-rare. We didn’t complain but did mention it to the server at the end. The weird thing was that for being underdone in the center, it had a crust to the outside that I don’t remember at all from previous visits. The filet was nowhere near as tender as I noted in my previous review. The mac-n-cheese side was fine but wasn’t quite as good as at Brookwood Grill(the step-down restaurant owned by the same Co). They did give us a complimentary slice of their white chocolate cheesecake with dark cherries on top. That was *wonderful* & made a great end to a meal that had actually been a bit underwhelming to that point compared to my many past visits. Service was great as usual. Likely won’t return for a while due to the fact that the food quality seems to have declined over where it was in years past. Maybe the chefs were just having an off-night or something. And I was surprised at how un-crowded they were for a Friday night. We left just before 7:00 and I would say it was maybe half full. Service — 4.5 stars Food — 2.75 stars Price — 3 stars Ambiance — 4 stars Overall — about 3.5 stars

Heather, our server, was amazing. The food, as always, was really good. The bartender makes a perfect Belvedere martini that lasts throughout the meal. Don’t forget the cheese stuffed olives!

We came here on a Thursday night and the place was absolutely mobbed. There was absolutely no parking; it was valet only. Don’t worry about bringing small bills, the valet guys can give you change. We had a 7pm reservation but probably were not seated until about 7:20 or so. I can see how that could be a little annoying but we were in no rush so it was not a big deal. I was a little surprised to see that it was mostly young kids running the show here. You don’t see that at some of the more higher end steakhouses in the Northeast but I had absolutely no complaints with the service throughout the meal. In fact, it was actually pretty good. We were seated at a booth and they bring you out some complimentary rolls. These rolls were definitely deep fried and then almost glazed over with sugar and honey. They tasted almost like donuts. They were pretty good but definitely not something you can eat more than one of. I went with the caesar salad to start and everyone else I was dining with had the Stoney River House Salad. When the salads were served, I realized I made a bad mistake. The house salad looked amazing; it was huge and kind of looked like a cobb salad sans the chicken. However, my caesar was pretty good. If I’m back, I’ll definitely be going with the house, though. It’s a pretty extensive menu. They have a lot of different steak and seafood dishes to choose from. I was drawn to their coffee-cured filet mignon. It is cured in coffee, brown sugar and molasses. I’m always a big fan of going with a house specialty so my mind was made up pretty easily. I went with the 10oz filet. Unlike other steakhouses, all of Stoney River’s steaks are served with your choice of potato. I swapped out my potato for a side of the creamed spinach. I think it cost an extra $ 1. Apparently the potatoes au gratin are a big hit here. My steak was served and it looked excellent. The great part was that it tasted even better. The rub was awesome and the filet was incredibly tender. I barely had to use my knife. It cut that easily. It was definitely one of the better steaks I’ve had in a while. I would highly recommend it. If I’m back, I will be ordering it again, no questions asked. My side of creamed spinach was good, as well. It came in a baked dish with melted cheese on top. It was definitely rich and creamy. Creamed Spinach is my favorite steakhouse side. I’d recommend the creamed spinach, too. Overall, it was a great meal. Very enjoyable and the food was great. They have a decent drink selection and the service was prompt and efficient. It’s a cool place. Apparently, the Real Housewives of Atlanta has been filmed here. It has a bit of that trendy style going. For the type of fare they serve, I actually thought the prices were reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. Give this place a shot. I can’t imagine you’d be disappointed.

It’s good! Ribeye was beautiful, shrimp were huge! It’s not a small pocket place but it is good food and good service. You actually get sides with your steak… not a la carte. I also order the lemon drop Mojito, it was decent in taste but small in amount. Service was great and fast. However the restaurant was not full. The place is beautiful! Free valet, but parking was available up front. The little small rolls are delicious with the cinnamon butter! I would recommend this place over Flemmings or Ruth Chris because the quality is there and the value is better! U get more bang for ur bucks u gonna shell out! I have eaten at both Flemmings and Ruth Chris and still think Stoney River is better.

I’ve been here a couple times, and this place is a solid performer. It definitely doesn’t exist in the top exclusive steakhouses in Atlanta but it is definitely up there close to. This past trip decided to hit it up on Easter Sunday, enjoyed the blue cheese chips for appetizer, chunks of blue cheese and blue cheese dressing(4 stars, slightly greasy even though these are thinly sliced chips) and hit up the eggs benedict and the steak biscuits for meals. The eggs benedict came out very flavorful, seasoned, ham done well and the muffin still crisp but the eggs were slightly over poached, they did not run on the plate like you would expect(4 stars). The steak biscuits were amazing! The flavor of the steak and the biscuit together is imaginative and flavorful, however, one of them was a little overdone(4 stars). The service was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere is dark, be prepared for this if it’s a sunny day you’ll be a little let down when you walk in, but the décor is very upscale and warm, with a gas fireplace. Definitely cozy. 4.5 stars for décor and atmosphere. A large U shape bar in the middle for socializing and the like, this is a great place to meet co-workers after a long day. I will definitely return, would love to try the desserts — they look amazing.

I just recently went back to this place after awhile of not going bc it seemed as if they had changed the management and the food wasn’t so good. But after my recent visit the food was excellent I ordered A ribeye(with blue cheese crumbles) with caramelized onion mashed potatoes

As steakhouses go, this is good and at least unique. There is the«coffee cured filet» that was cured by decaf coffee, brown sugar, and molasses. I was suspicious, thinking it will be sweet: only slightly so. But the tenderness of the meat, remember this is filet mignon to begin with, was literally melt in your mouth. The«cure» added a crispy crust on the steak and made it quite interesting. My companion had«Hong Kong Style» sea bass and it was very delicious. The namesake is more for the Asian vegetable bed and some soy sauce seasoning. We Chinese like to have our fish«whole» and it was not. We were too full to have desserts.

We made reservations via open table —asked for seating by the fireplace and advised them we would be celebrating our son’s birthday. Both points were noted, and upon arrival we were seated immediately as requested and the birthday greeting began. We had confirmed that they allow one bottle of wine to be brought in with no corkage fee — so we brought a 2010 Duckhorn to compliment the steaks. It was not on their wine list. We ordered the steak rolls at the suggestion of our server. Presentation was great — the rolls themselves were cheese steak egg rolls… we were somewhat underwhelmed. I had a crock of French onion soup — delicious! We each had steak. Our son had the 16oz NY Strip –seasoned and cooked to perfection. It came with s huge mound of mashed potatoes. There was nothing left at the end Husband had the 12oz Filet Oscar style with a loaded giant potato. The Oscar was a delicious twist, although he admits 8oz would have been plenty I had the 3 Medallions with scalloped potatoes. They really weren’t encrusted — the blue cheese and horseradish concoctions were mounded on top of the filets. I found them to be tasty but dry. The bernaise topped filet was the best. The side was like white potato lasagna — ok, but a little cool in the center. They brought fudge cake with ice cream for my son’s birthday –a nice end!

It was our 20th anniversary and we came back to GA to where we got married and to see our son, his fiancée and our granddaughter. We would normally go to Ruth’s Chris to celebrate as it is a favorite. I saw Stoney River as we were driving and it looked nice so I went online and looked them up. The menu looked about like RC and the prices were about the same but you do get one side with your entrée at Stoney River. The reviews looked good and it was even mentioned they liked to celebrate occasions there as the staff made it special. So I went on Open Table and made reservations for four on 2÷17÷15 for 7:30pm. We arrived a few minutes early, Gave our name and were wished Happy Anniversary by the hostess. It all goes downhill from here. We were seated AT A BOOTHINTHEBAR when there were clearly nice tables with beautiful white linen tablecloths open. We were waited on promptly, ordered appetizers and drinks(2 with alcohol and 2 iced teas) No complaints there(of course we WERE close to the bar!!!) We ordered dinner and I ordered the bone in ribeye, medium rare($ 40.00 steak). When it arrived, it was clearly overdone. It was definitely a Medium or more. I advised our server and they immediately took it to replace with their apologies. When I got the replacement, it was Rare. Obvious by the grill marks, it was just slapped on and served. I did not even say anything other than to give me a box. We asked for our check and that’s it, folks!!! Happy 20th2nd marriage for both to you!!! Oh and here’s your check for 183.00. My son asked the hostess as we were leaving if she would take our picture(older lady) and she actually looked ANNOYED!!! Imagine my nervousness when I asked her to take one from my phone!!! HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT!!! What a horrible way to spend an evening like that for what really really meant A LOT to me

It was Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy. We sat at the bar to eat. This was okay, but the bar was really too busy to have to serve food as well as drinks. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It was very good, but it cost $ 10 for about 6 ounces of drink. Disappointing! I ordered the bisque which is always perfect, and the beef medallions. I asked if all the beef could come with bearnaise sauce and was told no there were three different toppings. I ordered the meat cooked medium. The meat was well done, mealy, dry and cold. Each pice was about an inch thick. There was at least ½ in of toppings on two of them. The one with Blue Cheese tasted only like Blue Cheese. I had to scrape it off. The Horseradish crusted steak was also overwhelmed with the topping, and I love horseradish! The one piece with Bearnaise Sause barely had any sauce and what was there was very thin and tasteless. I love Stoney River for their bisque and their crab cakes. I’ll never go back for steaks.

Love Stoney River! Moved away for 3 years and upon returning had to come for the delicious expresso encrusted filet. Also never realized they have such an awesome French onion soup… perfect since it’s getting down to 30 tonight! Also always great service and excellent ambiance!

3 stars for the food, 1 extra for outstanding service. Dorothy is outstanding, and the rest of the folks there were very good. The service warrants the extra star. But the food was really nothing special. I had the rib eye, and it was a bit tough and did not have much flavor. I had to add salt, and I really don’t like to. But there just wasn’t much flavor there at all. The baked potato was great. But for a steakhouse, I was honestly disappointed overall. I’ve had better steaks very often at Outback. But to be fair, the prices weren’t really that high. One thing did stand out as bothersome. At some point, something with a VERY string fish smell was opened or being cooked. It was like being in a Ranch 99 Market. Whatever it was, it was off. I don’t think I’d go back for a steak. Maybe the bar, and maybe I could be convinced to try something else.

Hot damn. Nothing comes close to this place. If you’re looking for an unbelievable meal, Stoney River is the restaurant to go to. When I first moved to Atlanta, I drove by several Stoney River locations and figured it was one of those dumpy steakhouses that exist solely for the AARP, early-bird crowd. Not even close. Stoney River has an amazing menu and every meal I’ve ever had has been awesome. On my latest trip, I tried the cowboy cut steak with a blue cheese crust and it was maybe the best meal I’ve had in Atlanta. Again, if you’re looking for the perfect meal, you’ll get it at Stoney River.
