This facility is the largest in the Aikido World Alliance affiliated dojos. When Roswell Budokan hosts seminars, it draws people from AWA dojos all around the nation and the world. The quality of the Kyushinkan Dojo Aikido program there is top notch, and anyone that is interested would be lucky to have the opportunity to learn from Goodman Sensei and Hodge Sensei. I’m a student of the Andrew Sato Shihan, in Chicago, but I’ve also visited a lot of other dojos while traveling around the US, and this one is one of the finest.

I moved to the Roswell area in October of 2013 and have been training at the Roswell Budokan for about 8 months and absolutely love it. I have been training in Aikido for 3 years and have trained at a couple of dojos, Chicago and Atlanta. Roswell Budokan is by far the best that I have trained at. The people are wonderful to train with. There is a large amount of Aikidoka at his dojo and everyone is extremely nice. They love to train and have a great attitude towards visitors and are extremely helpful to all beginners. There are no what I call«MMA meatheads», or people who are competition blind or have bad attitudes who try and rip peoples’ arms off. The training is laid back and good humored but still very respectful of the martial art. This dojo is also extremely family oriented. There are multiple families who bring their kids to the kids classes and then train together at the Saturday morning group class. I personally can’t wait until my son is old enough to train here, and I also want to take advantage of the after school Aikido program that they offer. The training facilities are top notch. There is ample space on the mat to easily accomodate a class of 30+ people all rolling around. I particulary enjoy it when the large garage doors are opened on a nice spring day and a fresh breeze blows through the dojo. There are even Yoga classes other martial arts that are offered in addition to Aikido. Honestly, everything about this dojo is pleasant. Aikido is a difficult martial art, and Roswell Budokan really makes it even more of a joy to learn it.

I looked at several martial arts studios before deciding to train at Roswell Budokan. The teachers and students goal is to help you succeed in learning aikido. The facility is beautiful. Not only do I train in Aikido but I also take Yoga and Iaido at the dojo. It is a place to learn a martial art and incorporate it into your daily life. You don’t have to be an athlete, or young to train in Aikido. It is a martial art that anyone at any age can learn.
