IO Salon is a little gem tucked away on Norcross St. in Roswell. Side note — Roswell needs to find its own identity because all the streets are named after other cities in the metro Atlanta area.
IO is a standalone building. When you walk in, the hair styling is to your left, with a small «lobby/​wait» area. They have a back room with more hair happenings and one single room for waxing and facials.
My friend’s boyfriend made appointments for services for the two of us on her birthday. Their focus is definitely hair, if not evident by the one room. I went in for a wax and my friend got a facial. They were not able to take us together as there was only one esthetician. Our appointments were for 2p/​3p, but neither of us were seen until close to 2:30. This is kind of ridiculous when you have appointments. They did have some complimentary wine to keep us entertained.
Honestly, the thing that is so wonderful about IO is the esthetician, Ronnie. I’ve never had anything waxed before and she completely eased my nerves. She was friendly, and personable. My friend also really enjoyed her facial claiming she felt refreshed.
The prices are steep for wax but I think for that level of comfort and professionalism, well worth. Just make sure you come on a free day, who knows what the wait will be.
TL;DR: Ask for Ronnie.

After giving my self hair cuts for 5 years after a major tragedy of a hair cut that left me crying for two days, I gave i O salon a go due to the fact that the were one of the only local to me places that use on of the cruelty free product lines that I love. I had LONG hair and was ask like 3 times are you sure before we took off at least 5 inches off… it was a fabulous cut and then I started getting my color done there. I have to say this is the best place ever! Getting a cut and color with a glass of wine is the best, and I love being a red head, this place keeps my vibrant red gorgeous!

I’ve had the pleasure of becoming more acquainted with Sam and Jillian, who have delivered beautiful hair cuts and style to their customers. Olivia always greats me with a smile and has does an awesome blow-​dry. I have not yet made an appointment with Ronnie but, based on her huge personality, I’m sure it will be awesome.

My experiences with Martha are phenomenal! She has the best hands, a kind spirit, and great service during each and every facial. I drive about 40 miles one way to get that monthly facial! Love it!!!

With that said, Martha Bullock at IO Salon wins a gold star for the best facial/​microderm I have ever had. While the space may not be a traditional spa, Martha gives above and beyond 5 star service. Martha is not concerned with the time slotted for your service; rather, that you relax and savor the service itself. She customizes the experience to your needs, adds special touches (like only she can) and has amazing energy about her. My favorite part? Her prices– beyond fair allowing those on a budget to get luxury treatment. w/​o paying luxury prices… you can actually afford the service and products– my kind of place!

I’ve tried quite a few different places but must say if you care about the quality you receive this salon will offer it to you. I get the best custom cut and style from Nate all the time. btw thanks for the products its perfect.

Heather laFera is amazing with color and with knowing whether your cut will suit you. The salon is calming and everyone is wonderful and friendly! Love Heather and love the salon!

I checked out iO Salon & Spa because of a Living Social coupon for an hour & ½ facial with a glass of wine… How could I not pass that up?!
The Esthetician there, Martha is a delight! The staff was very friendly and greeted me with smiles, asked me to relax with some magazines and if I preferred a glass of white or red wine. (side note: I’ve been to some spas that serve you wine in a plastic cup… iO serves their wine in a proper stemmed wine GLASS. that makes me happy!)
After I filled out a little background info on my skin and it’s health, i was led back to a small, relaxing, quiet room where Martha and I chatted some more before she said…‘Ok, now it’s time to relax. I will talk with you in an hour’. That was music to my ears! After the 7 steps of the facial, I stopped counting… as I was amazed at the VIP treatment that my skin & neck were receiving!
I don’t have one negative thing to say about my experience. It was warm, pleasant, genuine and not salesy or pushy at all. I’ve already been back for my second facial and Martha has a customer for life! :-)
