I took 3 classes from Mike Moreland using vouchers– Nature, Urban Safari, and Studio Lighting. The price is good if you are using a deal. It is a bit expensive for the average photog shooting just for fun(like me, right now). So I was very happy that he allowed you to buy multiple vouchers. All the shoots use models. They are amateurs and they get«paid» with pictures for their portfolio. This helps to keep it affordable. Be prepared to send in your best photos to Mike so that he can share them with the models. I am sad to say that I am way behind on this as I was moving when I went on a couple photo shoots. :-( Mike is a great teacher that takes his time to explain things to his students. He explains how to create different effects with lighting and accessories. He is always asking if you have questions or need help with your camera. He keeps the classes sizes at a good size. The website says that he will cancel class if not enough people sign up. But I actually went to a shoot where there was only 2 paying customers!!! That was real nice that he didn’t cancel it. The only thing is that classes aren’t offered on a regular enough basis. I actually really wanted to take the Location Lighting class, but it wasn’t going to be offered before my voucher expired. So I ended up taking the Studio Lighting class. All in all, great learning experience and great way to build up skills and shots for your portfolio. Mike is a great photographer and I would use him any day.

As a professional photographer in Roswell, it’s important to gain prospective and see how other photographers work. As such, I took 2 workshops with Mike. One was on wedding photography with a model in downtown Atlanta, the other was lighting and posing with several different topics and models. Mike is an amazing photographer and is great to learn from. The hands on learning, shooting, and posing were great. The models were comfortable in front of the camera and everyone shared the space in shooting so you don’t feel like you missed anything. I think my favorite was the HDR style sports shoot. The lighting technique was awesome and the models were spectacular looking with muscle tone that was highlighted by Mike’s technique. You can never learn too much about your photography and you can never take too many of Mike’s workshops! Margaret Lemke Moments in Time Photography, Roswell, GA
