Coldbrews Sports Bar & Grill

Better than I expected considering the reviews. My husband and I split a dozen oysters, salad, Mac n cheese, and baby back ribs. Ribs were tender and as tangy as promised on the menu. Wait staff very attentive. Alex was great — fun personality and took care of us!

If I could give this place Negative Stars I would so after having issues with a waitress who in her little puny brain felt that she was going to Beat someone up!!! I spoke with the assistant manager she got all the details then about an hour later the Actual manager calls me & tells me «I’m sorry she’s (the waitress) has been having personal issues»? How stupid could you be to tell a 1^st time customer that excuse the bar because our waitress is having personal issues? Will Never recommend this bar to anyone and then it’s gets better she has nerve to tell me we have other events coming up & you’ll be taking care of? This bar will never be anything more then a Sh***y Bar!!! Please Save Your gas!&Money!!!

We read the other reviews and, frankly, we were almost scared to go. It was for a friends birthday and that’s where he wanted to go. So, we went.
Our fears were unfounded.
The weather was decent so we sat outside (our preferred seating). We ordered drinks and some snacks. Sure, it was a bit noisy, being so close to Holcomb Bridge but it was fine.
We will return.

Last time here even with the Industry Night discount. I waited 15 mins at the bar without even being acknowledged in a bar that had tumbleweeds running thru it. Bartenders sneak shots and tell their customers to ssshhhhh, really? Also witnessed a lesbian dressed in men’s clothing walk in the men’s bathroom on a dare. Bartending staff watched the entire thing and laughed. Management is clearly needed here! Not coming back until they take pride in their own establishment. #fuckitimnothopeful!

Sigh I wanted to eat here and give you guys a good review ! But the moment I walked in I smelled doodoo. Sad because I wanted to give yall a chance ! Invest in some bleach maybe? Best of luck

Wow! There are some harsh reviews out there! Can’t lie made me nervous when I checked in on a Saturday at 5.30 and the place was empty! Even when we left…
But let’s talk about my experience…
My wife and son checked in at 5 pm on a Saturday night. When we walked in no one was at the hostess table. Within seconds a staff member ran over and offered us the seating of our choice! Table, high top, booth.
We chose a booth. Truth be told could use some leather work.
But the staff was super friendly!
Wife says food was ok. Tortilla soup was average. Loved steak taco! Kid had burger with no complaints. I had Chicken panini. Was more like a chicken chibata.
I’d give 3 stars. But imma do 4 because of overly harsh reviews!

Don’t waste your time! We arrived at 9:30 and wanted dinner. The wait for a waitress was about 10 minutes. We ordered a glass of wine and a bottle of beer. The wine was about the size of a double shot glass (3 ounces or so) and the beer was warm. I ordered a chicken tenders basket and it was quite obvious from the smell and taste that it was fried in very old oil that was also used to fry their oysters. My wife ordered a burger that was majorly over cooked. Her fries also tasted like oysters/​fish. one more beer to choke down the rest of the bad food. While we were there 2 guys at the bar got into a long running shouting match that lasted over 10 minutes! The manager/​bartender did not seem to care. Our waitress was serving the only other table of 5 guys shots and ignored us. $ 40 later we left and remembered why we hadn’t been back for over a year. We won’t be back.

The servers and bartenders are hot and are a great reason to come back. The beer selection is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. But the food is just ok. Good music on the jukebox and good venue for sports. Nice patio too. Did I mention the bartenders are hot?

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would.
We called and ask if they could seat a group of 11. they said sure, no problem… An hour and half after ordering, the last of our table received their very cold hamburger (to add insult, he was the first to order and was footing the bill).
While our server tried to service our table, the manager and the cooking staff were horrendously horrible, did I say how horrible? And not just horrible, but rude and full of excuses.
If the kitchen is backed up then the manager needs to step in, fix the issue and move on. Instead of letting the patrons suffer.
In the end, the manager comped a hamburger, salad and a couple beers.
I can only say if you have time and energy to deal with this establishment then by all means come on by… my group however will never come back to this place.

John Taffer might be able to save this place but until he swoops in I’ll be staying away.
The good
Servers… I had a great guy come clean the table (which was dirty when I sat down) and chit chat with me till my girlfriend got there. When the server arrived he was nice and apologetic throughout the evening (even though nothing was his fault)
The people –this bar really does have potential. I’ve noticed everybody was very friendly we got into a conversation with the guy sitting behind us and were also bought a round of drinks by the guys sitting across from us.
The bad
Grilled fish tacos were SWIMMING in sauce/​coleslaw. The fish could have lived out of water with the amount of drippage on my plate. My stomach is not happy with me this morning and I’m really glad I didn’t eat it all.
Friends tacos were wrong the first time but the fried ones got better reviews when they eventually arrived.
Orderer a burger with sweet potato fries… got the wrong fries. Burger was okay.
We originally came here for trivia which was canceled. We decided to stay since we had trivia cash to spend… or we thought we did. Apparently the policy has changed and they wouldn’t let us use our $ 40 worth of bar cash. We had to talk to the manager and she eventually allowed us to use $ 30. At this point I was so frustrated I just let it go.
If you enjoy a headache/​stomach ache/​and a large pain in your ass I would most definitely recommend this place. I will keep my distance until something changes!

First and last time I will visit this establishment. Went tonight specifically for the crab special only to find out out it is no longer offered, it is still advertised all over the restaurant though. Food was awful, only saving grace was out waitress who was outstanding given the horrible food coming out of the kitchen. Asked to speak with the manager, he couldn’t seem less interested. Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a very long time. My advise is to go across the parking lot to the Brookwood Grill!

Horrible! Started with false advertising about specials they no longer have, cold marinara sauce, hard baked potatoes tgat the chef insists cannot be cooked more and bad chilli. The only good thing was our server who amazingly made it through serving us with a sincere smile despite it all. Will NEVER go back again. Dont let the cars in the parking lot fool you, its just the overflow of people going to the Brookwood next door. Don’t know how this place is in business!

I’ve been in the business a looong time and I can tell you EXACTLY what is wrong with this place… but I won’t. Been in three times and every time they forgot my order, forgot I was sitting right in front of them, never brought my check, etc. It’s disturbing to watch. It’s the closest place to my house, but NOT an option.

This could be such a great place, been here twice now and nothing has changed! Plenty of TV’s and good prices on drinks, but service sucks! After the initial drink order, I was totally ignored the rest of the stay (appx.2hrs). I had to get their attention (which I hate doing) to order. I even had my empty beer can on its side for 28min without a single inquiry if is I’d like another.
If you go here maybe table would be better service.

They should pay their web developer more, because WOW what a bait and switch! The website makes it looks like a somewhat upscale-​y oyster bar brew pub kind of place. YEAH NO. It’s a dark, damp bar that smalls like a bathroom. No atmosphere whatsoever.
My drink was decent, but the beer list was extremely lacking. No IPAs at all. And everything was overpriced.
The food is disgusting. The menu isn’t inspired whatsoever. It’s run of the mill bar food. I ordered a burger medium. Apparently the patties are frozen, because my burger was mealy and cheap tasting. I could get something better at a ball game. My husband is a wing fiend, and he actually left wings on the table! He said the «hot» wings just tasted like Texas Pete and the Jerk chicken rub was just tasteless and salty. No sweet, no spice. No good.
I was so mad I had to even PAY for such a terrible meal. $ 40 for a burger, 8 wings, a beer and a mojito that all were god awful! Biggest waste of money. I will never go here again.
Also, we went on a Friday night and it was incredibly slow. They’re obviously cutting corners to try and stay open– but because of that I seriously doubt they will be open another 6 months. If they put some money into re-​doing the menu, using fresh ingredients, and styling the inside– it would be a great spot. Hope someone who actually knows how to run a good bar/​restaurant buys it and revives it. Don’t waste your time or money here. Go to Salt or Hop Alley for a good atmosphere and bar scene in the burbs.

The mark of inconsistency, this place has spiraled out of control. They do bait and switch bullshit with Team Trivia winnings. It is pulling teeth getting them to turn off some women’s soccer replay and put on a live sporting event.
Sydney and all the hot babes are gone. Smoky Paris has abandoned this sinking ship.

My girlfriend and I have been coming to coldbrews to watch ufc fights at least once a month for 2 years…
It used to be a nice place but the last 6 months it has really gone downhill… we had a bad server experience in December 2013 I wrote a letter to the gm about my experience and the general manager smokie did call me and offer a free cover charge to watch a boxing event… I gave them another chance but last night had another bad experience… we got there at 9:30 and were seated quickly 10 minutes later we had not had a server even come by to take our drink order… while we were waiting I look over and see 3 servers busing a 4 person table… then party of 4 who came in after us promptly got a server and she took their order… making eye contact with all employees didn’t help
We finally got up and as we re walking out the hostess says «you guys are leaving» my response was «yea we came to get service»…
I contemplated again writing the gm but it’s clear none of their servers care about keeping loyal customers happy. I will NOT be going back
Decent food but if you expect service you will be highly disappointed!

What a disgusting environment.
I had a late lunch at Brookwood next door to Coldbrews, and decided to go check it out to see what was going on. I walked in and was instantly smacked in the face with the smoke of every smoker in the state of Georgia. I’m new to the area, and don’t understand state law, but smoking in bars/​restaurants has not been an issue that I’ve encountered up until now.
After dealing with the unsettling disgust of smoke, I glanced to my left to find a raw bar with an open back, sucking in the second-​hand, trailer park smoke that permeated the room. I’m surprised the parking lot didn’t stink too.
I probably shouldn’t even be writing a review considering I left before I purchased anything, but I found it to be one of the most disgusting places I’ve been to in a while.

«There’s really nothing on the specials that would interest you.» That is how our server, Anastasia, responded when I asked her to «Tell us about the specials.» When quizzed further about other items on the menu, she confessed that she had only been working here for 2 weeks. Willie Degel of Restaurant Stakeout would have gone ballistic had he been watching this interaction.
Service was terribly slow and the food was average. The bottom bun of my burger was «wet» and the temperature was not hot enough.
No reason to go back.

She was new and I had no idea she was talking to guest like she did you guys. I would love for you to please come back and try us again. My name is Smokie Paris and I am the GM and I would like for you to know that we try to make everyone have the best experience possible .Some times it happens and I’m very grateful for you to let me know. I wish you had called me and I would have handled it then. Please give us another try. Sincerely, Smokie»
Of course I am happy to receive this message and will certainly visit Coldbrews for lunch or dinner in the near future.

They know how to do Football Sundays. They accommodate fans. They list the games under each of the numerous TVs, but they will edit those as the crowd dictates. We are die-​hard Dallas Cowboys fans living in Roswell. Since we can’t get NFL Sunday ticket at our house due to trees/​line of sight issues, we have had to search to find a place. This is it. I like the food much better than Taco Mac. Granted, it’s sports bar food. It’s not going to set your world on fire, but I liked the wings a lot.
Service – ok, they are painfully slow. Your glass will sit empty from time to time. BUT – they are super nice and, as I said, they accommodate all football fans, from sound to images, so I am willing to overlook that.
We also did trivia one Thursday, and were surprised how busy it was! We had fun, even if we didn’t win. Some of those teams are insanely good. Haven’t tried Monday bingo yet.
We have seen kids come in on Sundays, and will likely bring my 10-​year-​old from time to time. The guests are nice. We’re all wearing different team jerseys, but no one is making lewd comments to each other or starting fights. We may smack talk, but it’s not inappropriate. Well, not the stuff we say out LOUD anyway. (Eagles suck!)
Service: Really nice staff, albeit on the slower side. 3.5 stars
Atmosphere: If you are into Football, it’s a mecca on Sundays. 5 Stars.
Food: Bar food. It’s basic bar food. It gets the job done. There’s nothing I can’t wait to eat, but I have liked everything I’ve ordered. The beers are cold! 3 stars
Overall: We will likely be here every Sunday when the Cowboys are playing and it isn’t televised locally. We like the staff, regardless of tempo.
