No idea why they don’t have 5 stars. Hands down best jerky and bacon I’ve ever had. The Landjager is especially juicy and the bacon is thick slices and lean with the perfect amount of fat, does not shrink like store bought thick cut. The service is great and I’ve had good experiences with all employees since I come ever few months. They are straight forward and have been selling meat since 1913 so don’t go in expecting anything less or more.

Best Jerky hands down. Great landjaeger/bacon & pepperoni as well. We have been coming here for years. Our children are now taking their families. The only complaint I have of recent is a the lady employee with the glasses. She is just rude. My daughter even commented on her rudeness when she was there last… so it wasn’t just us. Mike has been a plus since he started working there… he is always helpful and friendly. We are fans… she will not stop us from coming back :)

Best jerky in the state… there’s nothing really to say… I like the original and the garlic… it’s a little off the beaten path, but worth it to get there to try it out if you’re cruising down I90.

I have never tried better jerky than what Carek’s meats have! My husband has chron’s and needs to abide to a very strict diet and he can have the jerky from here and he loves it! Also the shop owner is a very nice man. Carek’s is a gem that is like Washington’s best kept secret. I am so glad to have discovered it!

Great place to get pepperoni and Jerky. Not that far off I 90. This is a must try establishment. …

Stopped here for the first time in years, and once again wished it were more conveniently located. If you’re not in a hurry though, it’s well worth the detour into Roslyn. The landjaeger is good, though not the best I’ve had. The pepperoni and beef jerky, on the other hand, have no peers; they’re both still the best I’ve ever had. The bacon is quite good as well, though I didn’t pick any up this time.

When it comes to jerky and pepperoni, Carek’s cannot be beat. They have the best beef jerky I’ve ever had. Roslyn wouldn’t be complete without it. They have many flavors of jerky, different pepperonis and various cuts of meat available. They take credit cards, so don’t hold back; you’ll be regretting it if you only buy a pound of jerky! Both the lady and the gentleman that often work the counter have always been friendly and very, very knowledgeable about their products. Carek’s will always hold a special place in my heart based on their jerky.

A trip to Roslyn is not complete without two essential stops: a visit to The Brick and provisions from Carek’s. On a recent trip two of my guy friends finally had visions of heaven once we walked in the door. Every meat you could imagine jerkey-ed and smoked to absolute perfection. This place is beyond«no frills» but aren’t all of the truly great places? Bring cash — its essential.

If u love jerky like I do, this is a must for u! We stopped in and it was a little off the fwy but well worth it. The best beef jerky I have EVER had! They sell big slabs of meaty, moist flavorful jerky. They also take credit/debit cards which was a plus. The shop itself is not that much to look at, but their jerky and meat stick were Delish. Too bad I live in CA, otherwise this would be a regular stop.

Everything is a treat here! Fun Quirky/Old place to go. + there is still a real Carek still carrying on the tradition. Beef Jerky is like NO other. We just go to Roslyn to go to Careks :)

Incredible jerky, never had anything like this. We had the original and honey/garlic — WOW. 898 year old three generation store and business, clearly they love what they do and know what they are doing. The jerky is so thick and tasty. Well done.

I love that this has been a family business for almost 100 years — you can taste the experience in the product, and no crazy preservatives — which I consider to be a bonus. We stop every time we pass through Roslyn. Our favorites are the jamaican jerky, the teriyaki jerky, the peppered jerky, ribs, fresh cut bacon… I’m sure we have future favorites to try too.

We come on Sunday afternoon, and there are seven people in the line. Worth the wait, worth the money. I had beef jerky many times and what they sell is the tastiest piece of jerky ever to be made. 92+ years of experience in $ 16.99 a pound piece of meat. And it shows.

This is a very unique experience. It is all about the meat. Walking into the shop is like stepping back in time about 80 years, which feels charming or strange depending on your taste. The jerky tastes very good, and is definitely not the vacuum packed brand name stuff sold at the store. First of all, Carek’s sells big hunks, not little strips. Carek’s jerky is moist, not dry. Carek’s costs less. And, there are no preservatives in Carek’s jerky.(I know because I left my jerky out for a few days and it began to mold. It would have been nice if Carek’s had told me I need to refrigerate it. But maybe that’s what I get for being a city slicker.) I am not such a connoisseur of jerky that I would go out of my way to return to Carek’s, but if you’re driving through Roslyn it is certainly worth stopping for the trip back in time.

If you love jerky, jump in your car, head over the pass to Roslyn for a stop at Carek’s! Vegetarians beware, you may just cave in for one bite. When you find the place,(look for the sign just as you enter Roslyn) don’t be afraid to stop and when you enter Carek’s, don’t turn around and leave, it’s a family business that hasn’t changed in years, I mean years. Awesome homemade jerky, not to be missed!

Not sure what the experience of this place is like in person, having never been there myself. But I have to say that the jerky that my neighbor brought home was _fantastic_! I’ll definitely stop by any time I’m in the neighborhood to get some more.
