As a curly haired female, I am always hesitant when trying a new hair place. I always walk by Sebastian’s and was drawn to its character. I want sure if they only did men’s cuts though, but was in dire need of a haircut for a friends wedding. I walked in and asked if they had anyone familiar and comfortable with curly hair. That is when they introduced my to TJ. First off we discussed what I wanted he kindly squeezed me into his schedule. Now, TJ may not look like your typical stylist, but boy does he do amazing work. I have NEVER had a haircut that I was SO HAPPY WITH! The shape is amazing. Curly hair is hard, so I am deeply impressed. Not only does he do a great job, he is a great guy. He’s incredibly friendly and kind. I highly recommend him for you hair styling needs. I plan on going back to him for my color too. I can’t rave enough!

I like to come to this old school barbar shop for no-​frills, no appointment, short-​wait, inexpensive haircuts.
While the barber’s side of Sebastian’s does not appear to be the most cleanest of places, I seldom have to wait very long for someone to cut my hair.

I have been getting Hair cut there for 24 years. Guy is my Barber & he does a great job you can’t bet the price 13.00 bucks! I recommend this place, good place to dump your shit not only do I get a hair cut but I find therapeutic !

I didn’t see this coming, I really didn’t. But after going to Sebastian’s for over 20 years the end has come. Since my last review, things have gone very badly. After a string of bad haircuts I have decided to move on. It saddens me but with other good options around I owe it to myself to make the move. Things have gotten so bad so fast that the only reason I didn’t give a 1-​star review was the low, low price ($ 14 I believe).

Good place for a standard men’s haircut. Don’t be put off by the fancy-​looking signage, this is an old-​school BARBER shop, not a «salon.» I can’t review for a more elaborate ‘do, but for clippers on the back and sides, a little bit longer on the top, this place is excellent. They’ll even clip your eyebrows, trim your ear hairs, and break out the hot cream and straight razor to the back of your neck, all for the $ 13 cut. I found it to be a BIT slow, but not really all that bad, I waited about 20 minutes.

I have frequented many different Barber Shops in the area, but I have stuck with this one due to the fact that it has a good number of barbers and they get you in and out quick.
The place has two sides to it and one side has 5 chairs all with barbers and the other side has like 2 chairs with no waiting area. I tend to stick to one barber here but all of them are pretty good and the price is 13 bucks flat. It is your typical mans man barber shop if you know what I mean. Great place and nice easy going barbers!

Summary: great place for low-​maintenance male haircuts. This is not just a clipper joint, everyone who works there is expert with the scissors and a few will even bust out the straight razor.
I’ve been a monthly customer here for over a year. This is an old school barber shop that has been in Roslindale Village for long enough to have many regular customers and staff who’ve been there forever. When I go in the mornings I see cops, teachers, prison guards, etc. all coming in before/​after work (they open very early, I think possibly at 5am). In the times I’ve been in the afternoon I’ve seen the same folks bringing their kids for cuts.
I don’t even request a particular person, I’ve cycled through everyone who works there at least once and they all did a great job. Now I just pop in, grab a chair and wait until someone gets free.
My cuts seem to always cost $ 13 and they go the extra mile to make the haircut nice, clean and tight. They are also always polite about offering to trim the single mutant hair that likes to sprout from my eyebrows every once in a while.
Not recommended for your complicated hipster hair but a great choice if you are looking for a place a couple notches above the cheap chain joints that just use hair clippers on guys. They also work well with vague & understated guy instructions like «I want it shorter» or «just clean it up a bit».
