DB&S Lumber and Home Improvement Centers

Been doing construction for 15 years now and never had a vender sell me defective lumber and not take it back or exchange it. This lumber yard is very limited with quality dimensional lumber.

Succinct summary: don’t bother trying to engage with them online. Call or stop in personally.
Consider this an «attempted customer» review — I really wanted to give them my money but had to ultimately go elsewhere. I’ve driven past many times and was excited to find that they were listed as a reseller of Simpson Strong-​Tie hardware.
I travel a lot for work and tend to prefer dealing with companies that have an online presence and can handle email queries vs. in-​person or phone conversations. From looking at the DB&S website I thought they were perfect. The «contact us» info is very prominent and they go out of their way to suggest that emails and queries are welcome.
Tried the web contact form — no response
Tried emailing the Roslindale store directly — no response
Ended up taking my $ 760 strong-​tie order to a competitor one town over. The competitor responded to email with a quote in mere hours; easily processed the special order required and then delivered the stuff to my door for free.

I have been here twice and both times they were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
