The staff are always super friendly and helpful, the store is always immaculate, and I love that it’s located right on Gratiot. They have a ridiculous amount of NYX products, you can’t find selection like that in any other beauty retailer in the area. Just a reminder, ladies — this is a new store! Most new locations always have a few kinks to work out when they first open. Give them another shot!

A employee was very rude to me when I asked help finding a black lipstick. She asked why I wanted the color and told me it dark colors flush me out. I wasn’t rude back because I’m respectful so I just danced around the idea that she should just help me find a black or a color close to it. She kept directing me to red colors even though I told her I want a black and that I didn’t like how red looked on me. After about twenty minutes of arguing with her I finally was directed to a deep purple that I was satisfied with. However, when I was purchasing the product, she brought the topic up again and I told her I would look into it, but in reality I’m not going to and I’m writing this review to express why the help in this Ulta is not helpful as they should be.

Let me start by saying this is not my 1^st visit, I’ve been to this location numerous times. EVERYTIME I’ve been here the service n knowledge has been terrible. They greet you when you walk in, and then after awhile of roaming around finally ask if your finding everything okay. Not this time but last time I went to buy some NYX foundation, (the only reason I go here because they carry a ton of NYX products) and I finally got a girl to attempt to help me choose the right color, and that was impossible. Didn’t have really a care if I was choosing the right one or not. Same time I was asking a girl who clearly worked in the skincare section in the back (white coat on) asking her about a new Philosophy face cream, and really had no knowledge about that either! She seemed as clueless as me! This point I’m annoyed, get my foundation and leave hoping I’m buying the right one. Whoever is usually ringing you up is friendly and fast. But Ulta at this point the ONLY reason I will be back is for the coupons I receive and your NYX products. I’m a faithful Sephora shopper, so I will take my more expensive purchases there, where I can actually get REAL help.
