Recinos Academy

This was not the place for me. A woman’s review here, I can’t say what an MMA guy would say, so please take with a grain of salt…
I bought a Groupon for my husband and he decided not to take advantage of the boot camp here. So, I took it. It’s definitely for tough girls, tough girls/​women with different standards let’s say. My standard for me is TruFitness in Roseville. This place is definitely a guys place, for serious MMA fighters, or Muay Thai fighters.
The instructor for the bootcamp work out appeared fat and out of shape, but she could hold her own. I expect my instructor to be cut, I guess. She said the workout is best without shoes. The jumps she had us do, really hurt my heels, which is probably just me. She read the exercises off a sheet of paper while we went. Little kids from the workers there were running all around getting in my way, which I understand daycare situations, I’m a mother too, but this was dangerous. At least 4 – 5 toddlers running around the gym. The big mirrors in the work out room were propped up against the wall, uninstalled. The ventilation was terrible, someone’s exhaust was right up against the intake to the air conditioner, I almost passed out it was so strong. And we were just warming up, so it wasn’t me passing out from the work out. The workout was good, I definitely felt it, but I was so afraid of getting athletes foot, I didn’t want to go back. That is my loss, the workout with the shipping ropes was great for my arms! But, unfortunately, it was just too unprofessional for me.
But, very nice people, it’s like a couple of brothers got together and said, «hey, let’s start a gym» but they didn’t get a big enough loan, but their passion is to have a gym. Mismatched gym equipment like from a garage sale. They are trying, so if you are interested in martial arts or MMA fighting, this is the place for you. This is for people that are geared towards fighting, not a preppie/​soccer mom like me, which I will be the first to admit… :-)

I love this place! I have been training with Amanda Staudinger for the past three years and she is amazing! they offer alot of classes at great times. I couldnt imagine myself anywhere else!

If you want a great place to learn Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jistu, krav maga or Cardio training look no further. With a great atmosphere for the whole family Recinos Academy is awesome. No meat head attitudes here just great trainers and great classes for all ages and skill levels. I am so glad I found them and couldn’t imagine training any where else. All the trainers are awesome and it really is a family type atmosphere where any one can learn and thrive.

Great place for a great workout. Kids & adult classes avail, we love it.
