Pine Creek Care Center

After spending a week at Kaiser Hospital for a fractured pelvis, I was transferred to Pine Creek Care Center where I spent two additional weeks rehabilitating. The staff was very caring and professional and the Physical and Occupational Therapy teams worked hard to get me back on my feet («no pain, no gain» !) I would certainly recommend Pine Creek as an outstanding facility for rehabilitative care.

Unfortunately my wife fell and ended up in Sutter Roseville Hospital for four days before being admitted to the Pine Creek Care Center for the second time this year.
Once again we experienced a staff of hard working professionals who bent over backwards to make sure she was taken care of properly. The Physical Therapists were outstanding and spent extra effort to help her walk and regain her strength.
The Dietician took time to discuss her eating habits and food preferences. The patient is given a weekly menu and there are alternate meals available if the patient does not like what is being served. The quality and varied menu was better then at Sutter Hospital.
The attitude and demeanor of the nursing staff and their helpers, both times she has been in Pine Creek has always been positive and upbeat. They all respond to the patients needs quickly and compassionately.
In the twenty days my wife spent in Pine Creek there is not one criticism I can give anyone at that facility. My sincere thanks to everyone who did an outstanding job.

Inadequate staffing and supervision. My mother was there for rehab following knee replacement surgery in May. Her 1^st 2 weeks of rehab went OK, but then she did not receive any PT, OT, or Restorative therapy for 6 days! (Her discharge home was delayed and the facility seemed to completely lose track of her rehab needs!) Furthermore, there were medication issues: pain medication given 2 hours or more late (after the prescribed & needed time) on at least 2 occasions, RN gave an iron supplement when my Mom had not eaten, etc. Staff was not monitoring how often she was out of bed, and once out of bed the staff did not monitor her position (leg was often not elevated) or the length of time she was up. Noise at night was an issue at times. Facility appears to be short-​staffed, especially on weekends. The facility is clean and attractive, and many staff are competent and kind, but there are major concerns with adequate care. If you must send a loved one there, visiting and asking questions at least 2 hours each day (during the day, M-​F, when more staff are present) is a MUST!

I’m so impressed with the facility and staff my fathers a former Patient that spent several months in their care. Prior to his passing he always said how much he loved the activities and care he received.
Simply said thank you for everything you all do to take care of my father…

The place has improved in the last couple days. I am very thrilled about it.

Run, do not walk from this facility, a family member was there for a month, during the stay, two infections, and a bed sore at discharge, too many residents and not enough staffing, management will do everything to keep residents there, despite the fact they want to leave, night time staff appeared to be some that were disrespectful and short tempered, many times found family member over medicated,
This is suppose to be a Medicare 5 star facility, and we based our choice on that, they really need to re-​evaluate this facility as soon as possible.

This is a great rehab facility! My mom has had to go to rehab for a couple of different health meds and Pine Creek was our first and only choice both times. We compared it with Escaton Fair Oaks (which some say is like a country club) and Pine Creek was equal if not better in most areas. The staff is helpful and supportive of the family and their patients. The staff is cheerful and very knowledgeable. We never feared for my mom’s safety or well being. The facility was VERY well maintained, nice sized rooms and GREAT therapies. There are nice spaces to hang out so no Ned to always be in the patient’s room. Food not always great but they provide alternate choices and family can always bring food in. I highly recommend Pine Creek!

Don’t do it! My mother was brought to this facility for wound care after a short stay at the hospital. My mother is 85 years old, but of sound mind, alert and talkative. This place does not separate the «long term» patients from the ones that are actually there to rehab. The roommate in my mothers room was certainly a long term patient and had been there for some time. Not to sound insensitive, but she ground her teeth 24×7, mom said that went on all night long. She was not of sound mind and would just blurt out words as loud as possible.
A single nurse came in to turn my mother in her bed after the first night and yanked on the sheet under her and flipped her out of bed onto the floor! My mother is 5’10″ and 250 lbs, this should never had been tried by one person!
Luckily we were able to find space elsewhere that very day and had her transferred to another facility.
This place is severely understaffed. The rooms are old and run down with no telephone and no television. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
They are lucky not to have a lawsuit on their hands!

The rehabilitative staff to include PT, OT, ST, and their aids are caring and attentive. Nurses, CNAs and other care staff are stretched thin, overworked, and I therefore place no fault on them. DO NOT be afraid to ask questions and hold the medical staff accountable.
