Patelco Credit Union

I been a member for over 3 years.
This credit union has great customer service. On every visit I am greeted by my name when I walk in the door. I never have to wait too long in line.
Staff is very friendly and will help you out if any questions you have.
They offer free checking and savings accounts with a visa debit card mailed to you within a few days. Just a small opening deposit is required.
They have locations all around the sacramento and bay area.
If you are ever out of the area you can deposit at any credit union that offers Shared Branching and get money out of CO-​OP ATMs without fees.

To me most banks all seem to be the same but Patelco actually stands out. I walk in and every employee greets me and some even by name. They work hard to try and help with whatever you need and get you out quickly.

Had heard the radio ads for ‘Switch-​to-​Save’, and having two credit cards with very high interest rates, was definitely interested.
Gloria assisted me with my needs today and did an AMAZING job! I couldn’t be happier. In the branch at 10a, and by 3p (I had to go to work in the interim) was approved/​process complete for a much lower rate card, that will save me $ 1,000.00 + in interest charges.
Get-​in-​there as soon as you can. Very, very impressed.

I fully understand banks have rules and regulations. I get it. I opened my account at Patelco-​Fremont over 15 years ago. Whenever I had a transaction that falls within the grey area, Patelco-​Fremont was always able to help, clear the extra charges, etc… They were always convenient and they KNOW my name.
Patelco-​Roseville, on the other hand, is a go by the book branch. I’ve been showing my face for the past 6 years, it’s the same crabby teller that helps me. No smile or anything. Because my fiancé is a non-​member (she’s been with WFB for over 20 years), they require her presence to be able to deposit a check (both of our names are on the check). The first time this happened, I was informed it’s because the check was out of state and not local. OK I get it. This time around, the check came from a known local company; they still required my fiancé’s presence. For a measly small deposit. Yes, again, I understand rules and regulation, but Patelco-​Roseville is killing the convenience factor. They’ve really lost the associate-​to-​member relationship. Why do I even bother with Patelco-​Roseville when I can get the same treatment from the big banks.
Hello Mechanics Bank. They do focus on customer service.
Update: Got a call from the branch manager and we did review what happened. The manager was helpful and did offer assistance. Unfortunately for me, it was a bit too late. I still appreciate the call. Changing my rating based on this follow-​up.

This branch has an a amazing staff they ALL WAYS have a smile on their faces and allways make it a point to say hello by name. They allways make you feel welcome.
They allways take care of my banking needs and never say NO!

Once again, the gang at Patelco CU took service to the next level and hit it out of the park for me today! I love the service I get here… So personal and friendly!!! I love «CU’ing» here (I don’t call it «banking», cause you just can’t get this level of personal service at a «bank»!) and just can’t see myself ever leaving this branch. This is a great credit union and this location is perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful, they will always greet you right when you walk in. They process loan application quickly!

Great bank. Right when you walk in the door you are greeted. I just started banking here not that long ago and already a few of the tellers know me. Also great loan rates. Not one complaint
