Mylapore Niranjan Kumar, MD

Dr. Kumar is exactly what I was looking for for my adult special needs son. After reading a good review from another special needs parent and getting a personal referral from a friend, we decided to make an appointment.
Parking was easy, the office was large and clean with a pleasant reception staff. The PA was tactful with asking my son sensitive questions. This was something we had issue with at our previous doctor so I was relieved. Dr. Kumar spent plenty of time with him, looked over previous test results and discussed exactly what they meant. He even convinced my son to consider taking medication and a vitamin supplement, which was huge considering he has an extreme aversion to taking ANYthing. He never seemed in a hurry to leave and asked if we had any other questions more than once.
I am very, very happy with him.

IWe have an adult disabled son who is medically fragile and Autism. Dr. Kunar has been wonderful with our son Marshall. He has a very gentle way of talking to Marshall that keeps him calm and quiet through every exam. Dr. Kunar has gladly ordered tests and referrals for Marshall for his optimum health and well being. I would recommend Dr. Kunar to anyone who has a special needs child like our son. We have taken our son Marshall to Dr. Kunar over the last several years. I am confident in this Drs. ability to handle anything that comes along no matter what.

I’ve been looking for a good family doctor for years, and I’ve finally found one! Dr. Kumar has an excellent bedside manner, is thorough and clear in his explanations, reluctant to do invasive procedures unless necessary, and justified in his treatments. We were established as new patients and promptly got very sick. Dr. Kumar has had to see more of us than any of us thought he would, but every diagnosis he’s given us has been correct and properly treated. Each time we’ve been in his office, he’s treated us like we were the only patients in the office, and we never felt rushed or cut off like he had others to see, though I know he did. I highly recommend him!
