Several years ago, when I was in a band; we played here and a great time! Food was good and very well priced, service was decent and the crowd was enthusiastic and loved our sets. All of our friends that came to see us play had a great time too and enjoyed the place and best of all, we had zero hassle getting paid when our show was over. The manager was VERY nice and invited us back. The place is kind of small but it is big on atmosphere.

I love this place I grew up around the corner pretty much, Jerry the owner is a great guy and Britney one of the bartenders runs up and down the bar to not only make drinks but cook sometimes also! The prices are about average for drink’s but in the daytime you can’t beat some of the food specials! You can also meet some pretty interesting people there sometimes!

50 cents burgers are the best! Service with a smile? You won’t get if the owners daughter NICOLE is working. She doesn’t know how to make mixed drinks. Then the idiot got an attitude when I told her how terrible the drink was. After 2 tries I told her to forget it and changed my order. Then the idiot tried to put the drinks she experimented with on my bill. Oh NO. She had to run and tell her daddy that I refused to pay for her mistakes. If you’re going here make sure NICOLE isn’t working unless you’re getting a beer something NICOLE can’t mess up since she clearly isn’t a bartender.

For the Rosa Parks back of the bus experience, go here! Terrible service, disgusting burgers(the meat tasted old). The cook was on his cell phone most of the time texting(I have pics if the owner or manager would like to contact me) I will never go back and dont recommend this place at all if you are not Caucasian. AVOIDTHISPLACE!!!

I believe I’ve made my preferences towards dive bars adequately known by now. For a small joint attached to a bowling alley, this is a pretty solid place. It’s very much a «shot and a beer» bar with a working class attitude about it… in other words, it’s a great place to go. Regular cast of characters that have been there every time I’ve been there, all of them good people, all worth getting to know better. Great little corner bar. Karaōke. Comics on Tuesday nights. Great drink prices. Order the philly cheese steak and be prepared to be surprised at it’s awesomeness. You wouldn’t think the food at a place like this would be that good, but as long as it’s the brunette behind the bar doing the cooking, you’re going to be happy. Major drawback/downside — you can’t run a tab, even if you want to hand them a credit card. Definitely need to reconsider this policy, because I watched a number of people get annoyed having to swipe their credit card for each and every round they wanted to buy. Kind of lame. Well… I guess technically speaking you CAN run a tab… but they take $ 100 blocks off your card, and if you’re only planning on having a few drinks, that seems a bit excessive. Might be time for a change in that policy, or a software upgrade to better handle things from a customer service perspective. Granted, this doesn’t affect you if you do what I do and just hit an ATM before heading into a bar… but for those that don’t take that step beforehand, definitely keep this in mind.

There used to be(and possibly still is) this horrible and awesome house band at Izzy’s on weekends called HIpshot. Hipshot did not play originals, only covers. They struck me as dudes who got together and played music like other groups of guys get together and play poker. Still, upon first meeting the keytar player, he was in the bathroom slicking his hair back and blowing himself kisses in the mirror. Anyone who takes themselves that seriously(or ironically) is awesome in my book… awesome in the most horrible way. Izzy’s tends to cater to a 40ish crowd. However, there’s also a large group of local 20-somethings that frequent Izzy’s as well. In short, you get a diverse crowd here. And the fact that they pack this place every single weekend is a feat in itself. Some of the other bars in the area are dead one night a weekend just because, well, you can’t drink every night, right? Izzy’s is always a party. I can rest easy knowing that.
