Last year, out of no where, my dog was diagnosed with an immune system disease. Toby was taken to Atlantic street after his regular vet recommended emergency care since he wasn’t getting better. I was distraught and cried the whole week and a half my dog was there because he wasn’t getting better, but the staff continued to take care of him and treat him like he was their own, they did everything in their power to help Toby get better. After he had been there for a week, we were transferred over to Dr. Spann who is the Internal Medicine doctor there and has experience with my dog’s disease. He recommended some additional medicine and after a few days, Toby was getting back to normal. It has almost been a year since this incident and we still take Toby in each month for follow ups and he has always been treated great! The doctors make him feel loved and cared for. I went in the other day to pick up a medicine refill and two of the ladies in the front desk, whom I haven’t seen in a few months, asked me about Toby and how he was doing. It is so great knowing that they care about your pet and they aren’t just looking to make money off of a tragedy. We are grateful for all the great staff and the great doctors (since he was there for over a week, he got to be treated by everyone) that took great care of Toby and continue to take care of him each month that he goes in for a check up. It was a hard time but knowing that someone else cared about my baby made it a little bit easier.

Worst veterinary hospital I’ve ever been to. I brought my rabbit in for emergency care because she would not drink any water for two days and hasn’t pooped in one day as well. I waited two hours in the waiting room, an hour of which I was the only guest. In that period of time, 3 animals being seen there died and there were 2 phone calls received regarding cremation. 5 deaths in two hours? Moving along…
If you know anything about rabbits, they can go downhill within hours. I finally asked when my bunny would be seen and when we were taken into an exam room, it reeked of poop.
When the vet finally came in to visit with my rabbit, I explained the the situation in a very detailed manner. She asked questions such as «has she had any diarrhea?» when I had just finished explaining to her that my rabbit has not pooped in days. She then left in the middle of the exam to see another visitor and did not return, so I left after sitting there for about 20 more minutes. When I was leaving I told the girl at the front desk they could bill me if they so choose. She was clearly offended and asked if the vet did an exam. I said yes, if you consider taking a heart rate an exam. NO ONE should be charged $ 137 for taking a heart rate. I would never ever recommend this facility to anyone who cares about the wellbeing of their animal.

My cat wouldn’t stop vomiting so I ended up taking her into this emergency vet. The place is clean and from the moment I walked in, everyone was so friendly to me and Moh (my cat). The fact they are an emergency clinic causes them to be more pricey than the regular vet; so if possible, I recommend calling your primary vet dr first! In the clinic room, they handled Moh and her attitude quite well. Moh didn’t appear to be in any pain and passed her physical exam, we ended up going with the hydrating and «stop vomiting» injections with a prescribe wet diet. Since our visit (6 hrs ago), Moh is eating the prescribed wet food and hasn’t vomited since this morning. In the case of an emergency, I will not hesitate to visit this place again.

Dog got sick… I think it sucks that the shot to save her life was 750.00. Probably cost 10 bucks to make… pay up if u want her to live or we willl let her die. Vets rarely have a heart. Guess someone has to pay for that fancy lobby.

The worst day — that was made easier with the Doctors at this Emergency hospital. My daughter’s cat had some breathing issues. We brought her in on a holiday so, the process took longer than normal but, it was a holiday and I understood that.
The Dr. spoke with a kind heart and candor with my family (my daughter is 13 and my son is 10). She was calling us at our home on her time off to review the diagnosis.
Unfortunately, we made the decision to put the cat to sleep. The Dr. backed us 100%, it was time for her to go after the radiologist reviewed her x-​rays.
Later that evening when we arrived, we were put in a private room and we were given the proper amount of time to say our goodbyes. The staff was amazing. The night Dr. was different than the initial Dr. that spoke with us and she was just as fabulous.
As we were saying our goodbyes and she was administering the medicine — I noticed a small tear coming down the Dr.‘s face. Not in any way, self indulgently. She seemed just as sad as we were.
I did not get the Dr.‘s names but, I will. They have a special place in my heart for the way they treated our little family on such an awful day.
When we picked up the cat for burial the next day, they had place her in a box with a pink blanket.
I just can’t recommend this place enough.

Im shocked about the good reviews as well since this place gave me a much different experience. Went in because my cat puked 3 times in one day and wanted to check to make sure to alleges or something stuck in his throat. The wait was about 1 hour and they examined him for 15 minutes. We were told we were going to get a list of what the doctor recommended but 15 minutes later a vet tech came back with a list of 1 item. This was not what we were told. She said she’d draft up another quote, 15 minutes and still hadn’t come back. We went to check out and pay the main fee, and then the vet tech tried convincing us we have to give our cat shots or he might be much worse! We waited for 45 minutes just for a list that could have been printed in less than 5 min. I’m sure they’re great at their job of saving and fixing animals, but they are not great with giving pet owners what they ask for. I do not recommend them to anyone.

I am honestly shocked at the number of good reviews about this hospital. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare and I will never bring my dog here again.
During my four hours of waiting:
One member of the staff tried to convince me my dog had parvo due to my being a neglectful dog parent that walks her fully vaccinated dog regularly.
Another nurse suggested I take anti-​anxiety medication since there was clearly nothing wrong with my dog.
I watched a teenage girl beg for someone to see her dog only to hours later watch him collapse and die in the waiting room as a staff member barked at her about agreeing to the fee if they perform CPR.
I should’ve left but I was scared to be too far from care while my puppy was so ill.
After over 4 hours my dog was seen for 15 minutes. I was told it was an allergic reaction and she was given some injections.
Her regular vet as well as the second emergency vet I took my puppy to were very concerned with the injections my dog was given at this hospital. They were not appropriate for her age or size.
She went from bad to much, much worse during the night. Thankfully her regular vet and the staff at MarQueen are competent and actually cared about her health and well being.
Bottom line is if you value your pet do not trust this animal hospital.

My dog had been having bloody stool for several days. Called early in the morning and they recommended bringing her in. Very friendly and caring staff. We were seen right away. I was very pleased with the professionalism and knowledge. The vet recommended in my dogs case a conservative treatment and did not push any testing on me at this point.

I can not begin to express the gratitude I have for this veterinary clinic!!! I was experiencing some scary symptoms with my cat and I called multiple times and each time the extremely knowledgeable technicians talked with me and calmed me down and then when we decided it was time to bring my cat in they went above and beyond to help me and truly went over all options and saved me a lot of money and gave me the peace of mind I needed. My cat was extremely calm with the staff and they were amazing at what they do. I hope they see this and know that they truly are appreciated! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Our 14 year old dog had a seizure so we brought him to Atlantic Street, twice in one day. The first visit was ok, the doctor said there was not much that could be done without extensive tests, which would be over $ 1400. We decided to take him home and monitor him closely. I am in the military and was leaving the next day for 2 weeks; so I asked that if something happened to my pup while I was away and he had to be put down, if they would hold him until I got back. (I didn’t want cremation for him). She said yes, definitely, that it wasn’t a problem and there would be no charge. Unfortunately, my dog had another seizure that night and I ended up bringing him back. He couldn’t walk, was disoriented and we knew he wasn’t going to make it. When we got there, it was a different vet tech and different doctor. As we are discussing the options with the vet tech for euthenasia, we told her about what the other employee had said could be done to hold him while I was away. This lady was so rude! Said they don’t do that, they don’t have the room, who did you talk to, etc etc. emotions were high to begin with and she definitely didn’t make things better with her attitude. After finally coming to an agreement when i can pick him up, my family are all sitting around the dog crying saying our goodbyes, and some employee interrupts asking if we want to pay now or after the procedure. What the he – ? I’m aware they deal with this on a daily basis but the sensitivity to customers feelings are severely lacking. Like I’m not going to pay the damn bill.
I will NOT be going back to this facility, ever. Insensitive, rude, obnoxious. All they care about is the $$. Don’t use this facility if you can help it–

When I came home from work today I found my cat was lethargic and had blood in his stool. We scooped him up right a away and checked Unilocal for a local emergency vet. When we found this place we were a little hesitant of the $ 140 exam fee but didn’t want to wait until tomorrow to go to a regular vet so we took time in right away. I’m glad we did. Luckily he seems fine after some testing he just needed a deworming treatment and a follow up with a regular vet.
I’m glad we found this place. From start to finish the staff here offered us comforting and outstanding service.
The front of house staff is awesome! Even our phone conversation prior to our visit was nice. Those girls are so genuine, they engaged us, answered all of our questions and make small talk. Very Very nice girls that seem to really care about their jobs there.
I can’t recommend the Dr. here more highly. I mean wow, words can not explain how absolutely fantastic she is! Dr. Stein is a true professional. She is patient, loving, and absolutely passionate about what she does. She is one of the most tender people I have ever met. One thing that really stood out to me was that the receptionists educated us about the wait time. Yes the wait time was long but they let us know that it was because there were more severe cases in front of us. We were totally fine with that! I mean, who wouldn’t want critical animals to be taken care of first? I was really impressed that the took the time to explain that.
I wish she could be all of my animal’s regular vet, I mean wow, I wish she could be my Dr. I felt so comfortable being here and knew my baby was in great hands the whole time. The passion was so great, the work was so perfect that we forgot we had to pay $ 140 for the exam. She didn’t try to up sell us as if our animal was a used car (a lot of other vets will try to do that). She spent probably 15 minutes or more in the room with us making sure we had no questions about what she was prescribing or treating (I have been to many vets over many years and I have never found a veterinarian that didn’t just ‘pop’ in for as second) .
I am just so happy with my experience here. I will recommend to all my friends and family. This place is really amazing.

Terrible day…, Saturday morning my little poodle mix stepped on a bee and went into severe shock. GI track pain, vomiting, diarrhea and nausea. She was extremely ill. I picked her up and took her to Atlantic Street Veterinary Hospital in Roseville.
I had never been here before, but I am glad I remembered them. They were fast, efficient, and they saved my dogs life. They are set up for real emergencies. This is all they do. They are open ²⁴⁄₇. Dr. Kate was on duty when we arrived. She got to work on Bonnie (my dog) right away., with the help of her staff. They got her on the correct intravenous fluids and hooked up to other life savers.
Throughout this ordeal, they stayed in contact with me. The Doctor spoke with me very throughly in the late afternoon about her condition. Fortunately it had vastly improved. She was able to come home the next day and is almost as good as new. Thank you to the Doctors who worked on her and staff for being caring and patient. It’s not a cheap, but worth every penny to me.

I took my Mastiff in for pyomitra. The vet on call could not do the surgery. They wanted 2000.00 to call in a vet that could. The total bill would have been right at 6000.00
I called my vet and she was in contact with the vet onsite and they told her and me three times that they where giving Willow pain medication to help with the pain she was in. Meanwhile we where being pressure to sign and pay to do the surgery at the cost of 6000.00. I was in contact with our regular vet and she said to check Willow out and meet her at her office for emergency surgery. Which she did. She needed a list of all the medications they gave Willow though before hand. So they gave me a invoice at first before they knew I was checking her out at 677.84…then they came in pressuring us to sign for the approval for them to call in a vet that could do the surgery. I called our vet at this time and thats when she said check her out and she would do it. This was about 5 minutes time… so they come in we tell them we are taking Willow to Blue Cross Pet Hospital for the surgery. They say they will get her ready and give us the invoice… now its at over 800.00…mind you about 5 minutes pass… The new invoice just has the same services and they adjusted the price since we where checking Willow out. This place is a rip off. Not to mention they give me a CD and say it lists everything they did and gave willow… not the case. We get here to Blue Cross Animal hospital (Roberta Raymond) and she opens the CD and there is no listing of pain medication… to all of our surprise. So she calls the the emergency clinic and they admit they gave Willow no pain medication… so my poor girl was there and they told us and my vet that they where giving her medication for pain and in reality they did not… this is totally unacceptable. I would never take one of my kids here again. They are just out to make a dollar and not there for the dogs care and comfort. What use are they if they lie, cannot perform the surgery needed in a emergency? You will be better off taking your pets elsewhere. I will never trust a business that lies and tries to pressure you in duress… they know they have the upper hand and people are very sensitive about there fur kids. My vet did the emergency surgery and had Willow for 3 days and the cost was only 2230.00

Unfortunately I did not keep track of each staff members name that helped us but it was a scary time. My baby (Snickers, a goofball Yorkie mix) was attacked my a big dog and she had two large puncture wounds to her throat almost getting her jugular. The staff took her to the exam room immediately to start her care. Each staff member was extremely caring and compassionate. They answered all my questions and they were prompt. They took great care of my fur daughter and she is back to her normal silly self. I am very happy and satisfied with how they tended to our needs and emotions during our very stressful time.

The staff at Atlantic Street Veterinary were amazing. I woke up early morning to find my dog acting very odd and having what I thought was a medical emergency. He is my baby and I wasn’t going to take any chances, so I jumped in the car and drove the 20 mins into Roseville to bring him here, not ever having been here before. I was really scared and in tears just at the thought of potentially losing my baby.
The vet tech looked him over as soon as we walked thru the door. She was compassionate and caring, truly seemed to care about my dog. She said she wasn’t too concerned as he didn’t seem to be in distress. I explained what I had witnessed and why I thought something was wrong, she took him back to have the vet look at him. Came back a few minutes later and said the vet wasn’t concerned with any of the signs he was showing, they said they would do a full exam if I wanted them to but that this was something that could probably wait until his vet opened in a few hours. They didn’t even charge me anything, which I was very grateful for. They put me at ease and I can’t thank them enough for that. I hope I never need to see them again but if I do, I’m glad they’re there.

So incredibly rude. I signed up to specifically write a negative review of this place.
We received a pup from our roommates mom he was about 6 months old and we were informed he had all his shots.
We brought our lab/​boxer mix in after he stayed the day in our roommates care while we were out of town. When we arrived home our lab was clearly I’ll and it was Sunday so we took him directly to this vet. Since it was the first on my Google search of emergency vets.
Immediately upon walking in we were «greeted» if you can call it that by a nurse with tattoos. She looked at me and and my dog with such a disgusted look I was actually startled when she started asking pretty normal questions. But when we didn’t have answers for her because we had received the dog about 2 weeks before like who his primary vet is and when exactly he recieved his shots and we couldn’t get a hold of my roommates mom to give her the information she wanted she might as well have rolled her eyes directly at us (which she did later during the bill process) so after about 10 minutes of me just standing there holding my dog in my arms another nurse finally asked if he was getting heavy and said I could rest him on the counter. They then took him to run tests.
We were then directed to a private room where a female doctor came in to explain the diagnoses which was parvo. She was very professional and nice. She said there is about a 75% chance he could live and said we could set up a 2 day stay then transfer him to another clinic where it would be cheaper to care for him. So we decided that’s what we would do. She said okay then said a nurse would be in to give us our bill estimate.
Along comes the tattooed nurse who had been super rude before hand. She slides the bill on the table then when my friend leaned over to look at it she seriously rolled her f**** eyes at my roommate. I couldn’t belive how disrespectful she was. The bill was 3500 bucks so we asked her if they had any payment plans and she said «no»
We go to the front desk pay the deposit and left feeling very dissatisfied with how we were treated.
Later the next day we were talking about how we could have sworn we saw a pamphlet for payment plan I forget what it’s called but we called them directly and they said we should speak to the vet office so we called them they said they did accept that specific payment plan. Why in the hell would you not have told us about that originally? Rather then telling us we had to pay 1500 now and the rest in 2 days. Which is what the tattooed nurse said we would have to do.
Then when I called to see what time we had to pick up our pup on the second day the nurse wouldn’t give me an answer. She said he shouldn’t be moved and when I told her that they were way to expensive we needed to move him to our home vet who was cheaper and closer to our house she copped an attitude. I couldn’t belive my ears. We had just been informed that our dog probably not going to make it and you have the nerve to cop an attitude because we can’t afford a possible 6,000 dollars for four days of treatment. And we would rather move him to our primary vet?
So my roommate called she is more patient yen I am. I lost all my patients for rudeness while in the military. Even she had trouble keeping her cool while talking on the phone to the nurse whoever she was. We believe it was the tattooed girl because the other ones seemed nice.
Also I would like to point out I am in no way judgemental of tattoos I have several. I am however judgmental of rude people who have no empathy towards other people.
We looked up an emergency care clinic closer to us VCA Veterinary and we went in there and had a much better experience.
I have also had amazing time with Sunrise BLVD animal hospital.
I am so blown away by how rudely we were treated our entire experience at Atlantic. Show some empathy to your clients.

So…
What do you get when you combine a household of 8 beloved rescue hairy beasts who outnumber the humans 3.75 to 1, more than one of said beloveds are on medications and one in the loading dose stages of a medication with full blown off the hook Cushing’s Disease?
A 9:30pm blast off from your own casa is what you get, with said furry beastie baby tucked under one arm, ur purse over the other as you both climb into your ride and blast off for your usual and customary Emergency vet which up until tonight had been VCA Pet Hospital over off of Old Winery Place here in Sac…
Why is it that when emergencies happen with our said beloveds that it 99.99% always happens after dark and when your usual vet is closed? I have no idea but it damn near always does for me and I’ve been at this gig for decades and decades now for it to be more than a coincidence…
Wound up at Atlantic Street Vet around 11:30 or close to midnight on a Wednesday night this past week after checking in at VCA around 930pm and having them flooded with more critically in need of care pets so after 1.5 hours of waiting I finally decided to make the call & find another 24-​hour vet who could diagnosis and treat our girl who I would learn later had reached beyond therapeutic levels of her loading dose med Lysodren and was in pain, vomiting, crying, panting, dehydrated and had super rapid heart-​rate & respiration’s & was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof.
Not knowing any other 24 hour vet as we are still newbies here in Sac I took a chance and Unilocaled via my phone’s app and Atlantic popped up. Called and was told waiting time was about 10 – 15 minutes at best.
Arrived & they immediately recognized me from my earlier call & let me complete the paperwork while they took Sissy to the back to have the doc examine her. +1 & great form! I love when this happens as it should always be this way when you have an animal in crisis.
The ENTIRE staff from the front desk, to all the veterinary technicians to Dr. Amy Brown who was our doc, treated me and our girl as well as the rest of the human clients and their beloved dogs and cats with kindness, respect, dignity, patience & understanding during my time there… For me this is priceless as I have experienced more veterinarians and their staff over the past 30+ years who operated just the opposite and it makes a very stressful situation horrific.
Pricing: Their pricing was very very affordable and they did not price gouge for the initial emergency office visit, emergency laboratory blood work nor medications administered. The only area that I would have like to have seen a price adjustment as in lowering it was in the area of the subcutaneous bolus of IV fluids which were lactated ringers solution. I keep it on hand as well for times when I need to give it to my own and manage dehydration from home so I’m aware of its purchase price. The $ 59 charge for the small amount that was given to our small girl was overpriced. That’s the only area of excessive pricing on this entire visit and I can live with it as it took care of the problem however I do think they should look at this for future reference and consider lowering the price about $ 20 – 25.
Have decided that whenever possible from here on out that we will be using Atlantic Street Vet for our future emergencies which of course one never wants to have happen in the first place but when it does it’s great knowing they are there; ²⁴⁄₇.
UPDATE: 4÷5÷2014: I received a private message from the Owner of this business the same day I wrote my review & since I like to keep things on the up-&-up have copied & pasted the contents of it. PLUS one more trip back here for another emergency trip exactly a week after my initial one & I’m still LOVING Atlantic Street Veterinary. Private message pasted below:

It was one heck of a night and your business & staff made it more than bearable, took such great care of us & well… you’ve got a return customer now ;)

What do you get when you take a 3 month old puppy fishing out in the middle of nowhere… wait for it…(DING) A puppy with a fish hook in his mouth! Winner winner!!!
It seemed like a really great idea at the time to take the pup pup fishing since he’s going to be a huntin’ outdoorsman mountain man doggie. Yea… it SEEMED like a great idea. Getting ready to cast the first line of the night and low and behold I already caught me a big one! Alas… it is in the form of a very energetic, very curious puppy named Jaeger.
#$@%!!! We were able to get a hold of the Atlantic Street Vet Hospital and let them know we were coming with a fish-​out-​of-​water! (We chose this place because it’s closer to the residence not because we couldn’t find another ER Vet.)
The staff were all very friendly and very helpful regarding our situation. Unfortunately a puppy is like having a small hairy baby with more energy. Puppies & Babies = $$$$$.
If you’re in the Roseville/​Rocklin area and your pet is in need of some immediate assistance or emergency care… this is the place. Luckily Jaeger got some good meds that knocked him on his arse and recharged his batteries… bad news is his batteries were charged by 4AM the next day :-/
