Last night we came to have dinner and when we walked in there was no host, we waited for about 5 minutes to get seated and nobody came or even made eye contact. We decided to take a seat close by since it was pretty empty, probably 3 tables where occupied. We waited at the table for 20 minutes to get greeted nobody came. Waitress made eye contact a couple of times and never even asked if we had been taken care of. We ended up just leaving. This place has the worst costumer service.

I normally frequent Benihana’s in Sugarland, but this was closer to home. Tried it for dinner for the first time with my 6 year old and the next morning we were both on the commode. He had chicken fried rice and ate some of my Chicken Yakisoba. I also ate a California Roll. I will never eat at Shogun’s again.

Very mediocre food. Got the combination of calamari and steak. The calamari was soft, ¾ inch chunks of white thick squid under broth. The steak was a 5 oz. semi-chewy chunks, well done(not as ordered) meat. The fried rice was brown colored rice in a bowl. The veggies were stir-fried with some lite sauce on them. I went Sunday nite late.

Super disappointing:(we came here with high expectations due to our love for the sushi at shogun on 99 near the palladium-because that location was well priced and the salmon was incredibly fresh. As for here… Not so much. The salmon wasn’t fresh, the seaweed was tough, and the rolls were 2⁄3 of the size. My fiancé also got fried rice and hardly touched it because it was very poorly done. In the words of my fiancé «I have had better sushi at a china buffet» I suggest making the drive to the Shogun on 99 because the quality is well worth it!

I’ve been here twice and have been very disappointed in the sushi both times. The price is high for low quality fish. I got tuna, salmon, and yellowtail rolls to go and they were tiny and seaweed wrapped around the outside instead of rice. So it tasted completely like seaweed. Disappointed. And out $ 25.00 for three very basic rolls.

We just ate here with some friends. The chef was so skillful with cooking and performing. The stir-fried rice, shrimp, and steak were just right. The sushi also had a great taste.

I have been here in the past and never had a problem, but i went there today with a coworker and sat at the hibachi. She ordered the filet mignon and i ordered the steak. They cooked the food and served us then walked away and the filet mignon was rancid. First bite made that VERYCLEAR. We told the waitress and asked that they just bring out another steak instead of the filet mignon but they brought it out again anyway. Second serving was better than the first but still tasted on the verge of going bad. She did not eat any of the meat except for one bite then we asked for the bill and they charged her the full price of the filet, no discount for serving RANCID meat! I will have to rethink returning here and i hope that neither of us get sick from the tiny amount we did eat.

Have been here twice and didn’t see a waitress after 15 – 20 minutes of being seated. The first time they were busy, tonight they were not. There was plenty of staff along with what seemed to be a manager.

The food was delicious however, poor service is the reasoning for this 2 star rating. The waitress continued to get orders wrong and overcharged us on our meals. If the staff could match the food itself than this review would be a 4 star.

This place sucks. Food tastes like paper, staff is not up to par, the ambience is ridiculous, and cleanliness of the restaurant is not really noticed here. Also if you have one of those coupon things that you got from work or a gift don’t even bother using it. The lady added a 20% gratuity to my bill and then took the coupon in affect. I’m sorry you don’t make enough in tips due the lack of service and food but don’t cheat me in to giving you 20% tip for party of two. Just don’t even bother sitting down here to eat or to go. Surprised the food department hasn’t closed this down yet.

Will never go back there again I’m on 1000 mg of antibiotics because of eating sushi there I have never in all the sushi places that I’ve ever gone ever gotten sick this surprised me I could say a lot more but I think after stating that I’m on antibiotics because of having a parasite I need say no more and it says I can’t leave a post and less I leave a rating so the only reason why they’re getting a one is because I had to

Terrible with a capital T! Ordered the sushi with crab and crawfish. The crawfish was tuff and the crab was immatation. We should have stopped there but I decided we would try our orders. My husband ordered the steak bento box and I ordered the salmon. I promise it didn’t look or taste great at all! The rice spelled burnt so I didn’t attempt to eat it and it honestly killed my appetite. My husband rice was the same deal! I only ate 1 bite and couldn’t stomach the rest. So we call over the waitress and ask her to smell the rice she says«well we sold a lot if rice today» I ask for the manager she replies she is the manager and ower. My husband on had water and I had sprite. The bill was 67 dollars! He paid and left the entire plates of fod on the table. Ended up going to the store and coming home to cook.

I have been to a number of other Shogun locations and it has always been«OK» at least. We made a special trip out to this location and were met with a clearly unhappy waitress who sat us down at a dirty table and took our drink orders(some of the mixed drinks on the cocktail menu were not available for some reason). The waitress returned a bit later to take our orders,(GF: Bento Box, Me: Shaggy Dog Roll) as the waitress dropped the sushi order off at the sushi bar, they immediately sat a pre-made sushi roll on the top of the bar and it sat there until the bento box(which took at least half an hour) arrived. The first bite I took into the roll was very warm, rubbery, and tasted rancid, but, because I don’t like being that annoying complaining patron, I ate it… Later that night at home I ended up spewing my guts out all night and felt very sick. I very rarely post a negative review on a restaurant, especially one that I have been to many times, but this one definitely deserved it. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. At all. Ever. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the other locations I had been to before that deserved an «OK» rating.

Sat down, saw a COCKROACH running across the table next to the plates, and left. Unilocal said my review was too short. Nothing else needs to be said. If a cockroach is on a table that means the pest problem at a restaurant its out of control!

We went in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was kinda empty. First blush was visually disappointing and the place had a bit of that dirty restaurant odor going on. Coke was flat and plates were filmy with a couple dirty. We order sushi and some tempura veggies and shrimp. Tempura batter was heavy and items were too greasy. The sushi was just«okay». We won’t come again.

Food was not good. It was expensive for nothing. Ordered sushi that tasted fishy and gross. Left half my food behind. Certainly not worth $ 7.50 a roll.

I ordered via phone the chicken Katsu bento box and spider roll Saturday afternoon. When I went by to pick it up, the place was dead. Only a family doing the hibachi grill. Large place by the way. Food was ready. Spider roll was $ 8.95 for 5 large pieces. I could’ve eaten more. The Katsu was ok per my hubby… He’s had better. It came with miso, California rolls and a couple if tempura veggies. Total $ 21. I would return when I’m craving for sushi but too lazy to drive to sugar land.

I wouldn’t waste my next craving for Japanese food or sushi on this place. The tempura was fair, the sushi was fishy, the chicken dinner was bland.

Definitely a change from my previous visits. Service was awesome and friendly. Very attentive as well as going the extra step to make our dining experience great. Food was great and ambience was good. Will definitely return more often. Teppanyaki is the way to go here!
