Wow, impressed with great food and quick service. The place was clean and I like the historic look. I got the wrap which I was surprised it was warm with grilled chicken pieces and it was excellent. When you usually order that you imagine packaged sliced meat and served cold. The chips and homemade fries were perfect. My friend got the bonefire burger which he claims is the best he has ever had. We will most certainly be back for another round!

Pretty good! We found this place on Unilocal and I’m glad we did. I love venturing into historic Rich/Rose and I love that they are trying to fix up downtown with all these new shops and cafes. I ordered the Hobo burger, and a hot chocolate. My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles, and a hot chocolate. And my husband ordered the BYO Omelette. I think by far, the hot chocolates and the chicken and waffles were the clear winner of our breakfast. After having a bite of our daughter’s food, we knew we should have gotten it. Delicious. Thick, perfectly breaded cuts of chicken, stacked between Belgian waffles– served with fruit and maple syrup. Hubby said that the omelette was good, but nothing special. The Hobo burger was good, but not the best I’ve had. Both plates came with potatoes that were pretty good. I ordered my egg over hard and it was definitely over easy. I’m not a huge fan of egg goo on my hamburgers. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is friendly. :) A nice place to grab brunch on Sunday!

Guys the bonfire burger was just amazing! It filled me up and thats cause I’m a big guy… service was awesome, dining room was small but really clean. My wife had the apple salad and added chicken and it was delicious however the dressing was not for my palate. even though my wife loved it. Overall great first experience!

Love this little place. Small, quaint, cozy with great small town charm. The cook here is excellent and the big nasty burger was cooked exactly as I asked. If you’re looking for a different place to sit down and get a great meal in Rosenberg this is your spot!

The best grilled Salmon salad with avocado, walnuts, cranberries, red onion… with vinaigrette dressing! Grilled to perfection! Forgot to add the green apple slices!

This place is by far one of the best burgers in town and in the area. You should try the hobo burger. Their homemade fries are awesome as well very nicely seasoned. The staff is very friendly and very personable. The atmosphere is very nostalgic but has a tinge of hip to it. Definitely worth trying out.

Have been to the café twice now. Once just for burgers and once for Mothers day brunch. The servers are splendid the pricing for what you get I have not a complaint in the world. Both experiences though different both were great. I will go back for the mothers day brunch next year for sure and I would soon like to visit to try the breakfast brunch and as well other food served besides the burger, I am sure it will all be fantastic.

Yes there is a wait sometimes but the food is always worth it! My favorite is the Hobo Burger. I also like the salmon salad. Great spot for brunch on Sundays.

Great friendly little restaurant in Rosenberg that makes you feel very welcome. You can order beer/wine from the wine bistro next door and prices were very reasonable. I had the 817 burger and it was super juicy, huge and delicious. The fries were crispy and had a little spice on them. We all enjoyed our burgers and my mom’s salad looked delicious as well. The key lime pie for dessert was moist and not too tart. We really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely come out again. We drove 40 minutes to try it out and weren’t disappointed!

Bear with me here, I’ll explain the lower star mark. But first, the food was fantastic. The Hobo Burger tasted as good as the description made it seem. The egg wasn’t overcooked, and was just runny enough to cover the burger in yolk. And the potatos were amazing. Definitely a great meal. The Not So Benedict was equally as good, and I’m not even a fan of eggs Benedict. The crab cakes that they came on had a good flavor, and the eggs were poached about as well as an egg can be poached. The pancakes were also great. They had that IHOP taste but a little something extra that gave them a kick that made you want to continue eating. The coffee was brewed well, as was the tea. The orange juice somehow was better than normal orange juice, everything food wise was out of this world. The wait is what killed me. We walked in and it was decently busy for brunch. Not overly packed and no wait, so not a big deal. The service was good and helpful, kept our drinks full. But the wait. From the time we ordered till the time we got our food was over 40 minutes. We were close to leaving when it finally arrived. I plan on going back in a few weeks to give it another go, maybe it was just a one time thing. When I do that I’ll update my review to hopefully the 5 stars the food deserves.

We live in Katy and had been told about how great this place was. We drove up on Sunday and it was so worth the 20 minute drive! The staff was so friendly and the food was even better. We had the eggs Benedict and burger with an egg on it. one of the best burgers we have had in awhile! Thanks Railroad Café!

This review is for the service! We ordered out food and we never got it! Never! We kept asking about our food while other customers that got to the place after us were already eating. I cannot say if the food is good or bad because we never got our food! Service sucks! We left hungrier and mad from this place.

Found this place by accident today while exploring Rosenberg with my family. What a great hidden gem… The food was top notched only to be matched by the great service and cool ambiance. Chatted the owner up for a while. Great guy. We just moved back to Texas after being gone for 8 years. It’s great to get this kind of service again(which doesn’t exist most other states).

My Fiancée and I eat at a lot of fancy Houston restaurants(Glass wall, Reef, Haven, etc.) and one night we decided to try the ol’ Railroad Café Dinner they have on Friday and Saturday nights from 5p to 9p. I have to say, this was comparable to the fancy restaurants of Houston. I highly recommend the dinner for a great date spot, with the wine bar next door. It is a quaint spot and my Fiancée and I go here regularly when I am home from my military obligations.

We went for Sunday brunch. Our waitress was attentive. The restaurant was clean, bright and nicely decorated. The food was well priced and delicious. I had 4 buttermilk pancakes that were the size of a dinner plate for $ 8. I would definitely return to this quaint spot for another meal.

I mean this A-OK in the best possible way, but I wouldn’t say I’m a fan in the sense that I’m champing at the bit to go back. Still, I almost certainly will be back, because they’re so much better than most places around here(based on my one visit so far), and there aren’t that many places around here in the first place. The good: Excellent and attentive service. Coffee OK(weak), orange juice bordering on excellent. They do know how to poach an egg(most places around here don’t), and the crab cakes were pretty good. Hubby said burger was good and he ate all of it. A lot of effort was put into the décor, which I appreciated. Nice view(for here) out the front window of an old building and a little park. The meh or so: Potatoes were kind of greasy and just OK to me, although hubby ate all of his. So this could be just my personal taste. My Texas toast picked up some kind of off flavor from whatever surface it was toasted on, but I ate it anyway. Chairs, although they appeared padded, were pretty hard. The truly weird: The menu said just«hollandaise,» nothing about their special version or anything. So either they should alter their menu or they have no idea how to make hollandaise. It was cold, temperature-wise and hot, spicy-wise. It was not smooth and uniformly light yellow, but kind of curdled, with specks of red and brown. Assuming charitably that they have their«special» version(if I assumed otherwise I would never be back), I’d never have ordered anything that involved it if the menu had described it correctly. Thank goodness I ordered it on the side. Hmmmm… Well, looking more closely at the online menu, I see a difference from the printed menu — it just says«toast» on the online menu, but it said«Texas toast» on the printed menu. So maybe there was a difference in the description of the hollandaise and I didn’t notice, having previously looked at the online menu, which does say just«hollandaise.». It was still pretty yucky. The eek!: Their method of bringing the«check.» I REALLY don’t care for someone waving a tablet in my face while I’m trying to get out my money and figure the tip. I want them to leave me an actual paper check and then GOAWAY for a while. I asked for and got a paper receipt(more good service — thank you!), but I had hoped our server would realize that implied I wanted her to bring the paper receipt and then GOAWAY for a while, which she didn’t. She stood there with the tablet until we handed over our money, bringing the paper receipt afterward. Next time I’ll be more specific, as in, «Please don’t even show me the tablet screen — keep that thing out of my face. Actually, please don’t bring the tablet anywhere near me, whether you show me the screen or not. Please bring me a paper check and then GOAWAY for a while.» Anyway, I’d certainly recommend trying this place — their heart seems to be in the right place. When I go back I’ll update this review to let you know whether I was able to get the check my way or not.(If they wave a tablet in my face again, that will be my last visit.)

Every time I come here I fall in love with the place again. Ok a bit dramatic but the food here is really good. The first time a came for brunch I had chicken and waffles. The presentation was very pretty, I was surprised because it seemed like a mom &pop place. It’s not. The food was delicious! My hubby had a burger, he loved it. Second trip we had tuna steak on mushroom risotto and grilled squash. Warning, dinner menu is a lil pricey. The tuna was $ 25. I believe the burgers were $ 14. Again, presentation was nice. Service was always great. The place isn’t packed, always no more than 4 tables filled. Totally recommend this place, located in old Rosenberg by antique shops. Menus change almost daily so check it out!
