Lunar Feast Bodhi Veggie Cuisine

I am no vegetarian. My friend brought me here for dinner last night and it was delicious. It is a huge restaurant with ample parking. Service is good and the food is very tasteful. Many dish varieties to choose from. Will definitely come back again.

Ok so I’m not vegetarian but the food here is pretty delicious. Half the time I didn’t have a clue as to what I was eating but definite honorable mentions go to the crispy oyster mushrooms and the «chicken nuggets» :D they almost made me think I was eating meat!
The restaurant is pretty large in my opinion and it has a nice clean layout. Great for family gathers or any event you plan to hold. They event decorate a little for you if you’re holding an event!
Overall the food service was a tad slow at first but I don’t blame them when there’s a large group with multiple tables. (Came here for an extended family gathering) After the appetizers and soup the foods started rolling out fast! It was hard to keep up!
Overall, a lovely new food experience with friendly staff. :)

I ordered take-​out. The service was fast, but too fast. Fresh food isn’t normally cooked that quickly and I prefer slow cooked foods. Ordered stir-​fry veggies with brown rice and it wasn’t bad. The leafs were starting to brown a little but other than that, the taste was mediocre. I wouldn’t come back though as I am selective with my food.

Huzzah. First. This place does not have $ 12 avocado toast. Second. The portions are large and prices are not jacked up with a «vegan tax». Third. Fast service. Fourth. Yummy food. I mean, this isn’t French Laundry but it’s good regularly eatable veg chinese food. Wonton soup was great and and my whole head fit in the bowl.

Before I ordered, the lady brought me a small pot of hot tea which was a nice touch. For dinner I had the healthy hand roll as an appetizer and the bean curd skin and spinach with the combo (choice of white or brown rice, salad, soup, dessert, and a drink) for the main meal. All of this came out to $ 17.55 before tip! Awesome! Everything was nice and tasted well. There wasn’t a whole lot of grease involved which I liked. Warning: the watermelon juice is actually watermelon juice which means it’s not sweet (this was good for me since I usually avoid sugar). The place is clean and bright with plenty of seating for everyone. Overall, it was a great meal and experience. The subtraction of one star is due to the customer service; it was lacking just a little.
**One plus is that I had to learn how to use chop sticks (no silverware at the table).

Good great vegetarian food. If you are like me and don’t know how to select dished as for help. Find that balance of sweet, salty or whatever else you like.
The lady that helped me was good in making my visit a positive one.
And FYI the meat items are not real meat.

No MSG Vegan/​Vegetarian Chinese food that is actually delicious.
We have tried many items here and have not been disappointed.

The place is huge, so great for any sized party.
Gets busy so service can be slow at times but they are always nice and friendly.

Wow! I am very impressed with this place. Authentic Chinese food, vegan! Its so yummy! I had the sweet and sour ‘chicken’ with the herbal soup. My friend had the mushroom begat ables with pumpkin. It was amazing.
5 stars also for the décor and service!

A wide selection of very tasty, well prepared meals. We ate here Friday night & again on Sunday before our return to NM.

This place is one of the higher end Chinese vegetarian restaurants in San Gabriel Valley.
Their fried mushroom (mock chicken nugget) with pepper is very good and prices for lunch is pretty reasonable. I also saw private room for parties.

I super love Bodhi’s food and I went there every 2 weeks. I will give 5 stars for Bodhi’s food and overall with everything. Except, the experience I had today from one of their waitress, she deserve 1 star.
I LOVE going to Bodhi for vegan food! I am there almost every other week! There’s no doubt about the food quality that they provide. 5 stars for sure!
However, the service that I received from one particular waitress today totally changed my thoughts on this place. Today I went in with my two other friends for lunch. Since we weren’t that hungry at the time, we ordered 2 dishes to share. The waitress brought us a bucket of rice that comes along with the meal. Everything was going okay, food was great. By the end of the meal when we were about to pay, the waitress that was waiting our table has left so another came to give us the check. But when we looked at the bill, we noticed the other waitress has charged us an extra bowl of rice. So we asked her how come we were charged extra. She told us that because three of us were eating, so there were 3 bowls of rice that came along in the bucket. However, the waitress that served us in the beginning didn’t tell us that she was going to bring us 3 bowls of rice. Plus, 2 of my friends didn’t eat rice either. So there was still a full pot left anyway.
So, we told the other waitress that it’s unreasonable for them to charge us extra something without notifying us in the first place. We asked her to do something about it. And she just rudely told us,” No that can’t be done. You just have to pay for it. The waitress that served you already left, so I can’t do anything about it.” And she just pushed the check right back to us. So we asked her is there a manager or the owner of the restaurant here that we can talk to. And she again immediately shut us down and said no.
This is not about that extra dollars that came with the extra bowl of rice, but it is the service and attitude that drove me to write a negative review here. She could have at least try to solve the issue first! Instead, she just starred at us blankly, and shut us down rudely throughout the whole conversation. Even though food quality is a big factor of getting more customers, service is still another big factor that can drive more people in. Please don’t overlook the service that you are giving to people!
I am willing to give them another chance and change the rating in the future IF they can improve the service!!!

I was so excited to come by a dedicated vegetarian Chinese restaurant. and was not disappointed! I came with my parents and a friend and we split a 3 lunch combos and had plenty.
Loved: strawberry smoothie, green smoothie, side soup (we got the Chinese medicine soup but it was light and savory — not like the potent herbal brews I remember from my childhood), mixed rice, Crispy fried «chicken»!! — easily everyone’s favorite
Alright: salad — the dressing was a little too gingery for my taste. soft tofu w/​eggplant — nothing special here.
Meh/​not next time: porridge — watery and bland.
Overall the restaurant was very clean and the service was pretty polite. We saw some monks stop by too! I’d say this place is legit.

Been here twice and everything has tasted great! It’s a huge restaurant but never has many people inside… guess the vegan scares people away.
As for the food:
— Tomato soup is delicious Chinese style which has a light broth and a little sweetness to it.
— Buddha’s feast is assorted mixed vegies including snap peas yumm! They taste very fresh and aren’t too oily like other Asian places
— Szechuan tofu had big pieces of tofu and was pretty saucy but not that spicy. Wouldn’t call it authentic Szechuan food but it was still good.
— Eggplant tofu had way too much sauce though. It would probably be better if they used half the amount, it tasted like eating mush at times. They use the soft Japanese style eggplant which is a plus and the same tofu from the Szechuan tofu but still pretty good.
— Special drink was amazing! I think it was a veggie juice… not really sure what was in it but it sure tasted healthy!
— Brown rice is a mixture of brown rice and wild rice which makes purple rice. Takes away from the graininess you usually get with plain brown rice.
— Dessert was grass jelly soup? Not very good, tastes like nail polish remover. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was acetone in there.
Lunch special prices are amazing. $ 7 – 9 per plate and I think an extra dollar for the combo. The portions are big and it would be good to do family style for large groups. Only drawback is that the servers speak about 2% English so get your fingers ready to point at some pictures.

One of the rare times I wanted vegetarian food, because a girl likes her red meat.
I have seen this place for some time but never build up the courage to go, until Mother T. said she was hungry and for me to decide on what place to eat. From the distance of the El Monte Supermarket and my aunt’s place, there wasn’t many options; however, Bodhi Veggie Cuisine fell into that route.
First of all, ample parking galore. Probably nice to have a place that doesn’t mind sharing a lot with a hotel and an auto repair place. Second of all, don’t let the exterior fool you. The interior is a much more «serene» atmosphere with all the clean, modern décor.
The lunch special ran through the weekend, which was a nice plus, considering that vegetarian food doesn’t really fill me up too quickly, and that more food is always a good thing. For an extra $ 2 for the combo, you get soup, a specialty drink and dessert, so you’re really getting a lot of bang for your buck, at least that’s what I would hope when we placed our order.
Why am I being hesitate about my experience? The service wasn’t up to par as I would think it would be. Mother T. noticed that only three servers were on the floor, and somehow when we placed our order, they may have mixed it up. Why would one serve a partial set? By that, I mean, we received one serving of salad, two servings of soup and one specialty juice. We were both puzzled at what happened, and with my mother’s broken Mandarin, they kind of figured out what happened. (Also, it seems that the servers know enough English to get by, as my fluent English kind of confused them as much as my mother’s broken Mandarin.) I still would have overlooked it, except that the servers did a sloppy job on serving the tomato soup we had ordered, as I saw a ring of tomato soup on the table.
Overall, the food wasn’t bad. Mother T. would prefer to have the items less acidic, but I found it to be a bit tastier than what I’m usually accustomed to. I did enjoy the brown rice that came with the set. Would probably come back here, as Mother suggested going her for my Grandfather’s birthday lunch, but I wouldn’t mind stopping by again for a quick lunch.
And about not being full? Two lunch sets, and we had some leftovers to take home with us. So, I think that says a lot of about getting your money’s worth.

My all time favorite vegetarian restaurant! Where do I even begin? This place is huge… I mean HUGE! For its size, It should be a family style Chinese restaurant. It’s on the right hand side and right before the 10 freeway. It’s not hard to spot though, they have a very tall sign. Parking is okay, it shares a lot with the hotel next to it.
This place is extremely clean and did I mention how big it was? Service is great here as well. Coming here for lunch special is so worth it. So my advice is to come during your lunch break because you won’t regret it. It’s only $ 2 more for the lunch combo. The dish size is smaller, but it’s honestly better for sharing if you have a group of 2 – 4. The lunch specials come with white rice, brown rice or congee. It comes with a variety of drinks, I always get the spinach juice (it sounds gross but OMG it’s delicious. It’s sweet so don’t think it’s like the Jamba Juice grass drink). It also comes with soup, I love the herbal soup or the corn soup. The herbal soup is healthy and it comes in a bigger bowl size. The corn soup is in a smaller bowl, but so yummy with some white pepper in it :)
The dishes that you MUST get:
1. Truffle vermicelli rice noodles (it’s not on the lunch special menu, it’s on the big, thick, fancy menu). I suggest you get this if you love truffle, it doesn’t have a heavy truffle taste, but just enough so you can have a hint of the taste.
2. Crispy oyster mushrooms: GAHHH I’m drooling over this dish right now. It’s so crispy and it’s not too oily like other places are. It has a light and airy taste to it, not too greasy for fried mushrooms
3. Soy fried chicken: crispy and crunchy. Tastes super close chicken (says my boyfriend) & the texture is the same.
This restaurant is pretty pricey compared to other vegetarian restaurants, but it’s worth it. Good food, good service and a clean environment.

First time coming to this place from a recommendation, and decided to try this place out. We’re not vegetarian but we are open minded when it comes to try new things
This is a vegetarian place so all meats are vege-​meats (taste like mushroom or condensed tofu)
There are a lot of parking spaces which is great for groups. The place is empty around 6PM and we were the only group there. We got greeted and sat down right away. We ordered what looked appetizing. Though the place was empty, the service was a bit slow.
We got the hot pot of tea, had to ask for ice water, and they do charge $ 1 for a bowl of rice. We got total of six foods, some are tasted better than others. Smoke bean curbs and smoke fish tasted okay, tofu like taste; it’s nice how they shape the food to make it looks like its name. Hot and Sour soup was more like hot and spicy, there was no sourness. Bean curb skin and Spinach was awesome, and it has lots of spinach! Crispy oyster mushroom is also spicy, has lots of jalapeños and red pepper and mint bits, and the orange chicken tasted better than expected; lots of dough though and it’s condensed tofu.
As we eat, more people coming in and the service gotten worse, and they gave us a check when we were still missing one order.
After we ate and left, and found we were supposed to receive dessert after our meals. The server did not mention this at all. We didn’t feel full with our meals and let’s say, coming back here is questionable

Delicious is all I have to say.
Service was okay, but the food was something else… Very good vegetarian food! The lunch special was great!!!

I heard about this vegetarian place and wanted to try it and compare it to other vegetarian places I’ve been to. We came on a Friday night. Parking was a little difficult since the lot is shared with the hotel next door.
Once settled, we got to ordering:
— crispy oyster mushrooms
— vege house chicken in brown sauce
— sweet and sour vege fish
— szechuan style tofu pot
— almond milk pastry
We ordered combos for two of the dishes, which meant it was $ 3 more for each combo and it included soup (they recommended the herbal soup — it was pretty good), salad, rice, juice (choice of strawberry or spinach mango), and a small dessert (sweet black fungus soup).
In the end, we felt the fish was the best here, as the slices were bigger and thicker than other places. We preferred getting the rest somewhere else. There was also quite a bit of small gnats flying around (we had to stay vigilant and make sure none hit the jackpot of getting into our food) and we suspect probably in the kitchen too because I found a dead gnat in my almond milk pastry when I broke through the puffy pastry on top. =/​Seeing that we were not going to come back, we didn’t feel like alerting them of this was worth it. It was too bad, since we were hoping to find a closer place for good vegetarian food.

As a non-​vegetarian person, I thought this place was really good. I’ve tried some other Chinese vegetarian restaurants in the past, but it didn’t taste as fresh as the food from this place. The food wasn’t greasy, overly salty, or masked with MSG.
We came here for lunch and ordered a few dishes from their lunch menu. Lunch specials come with soup and and rice (choice of white, brown, or pumpkin rice porridge)
We ordered the braised tofu skin with spinach, radish scrambled egg, mustard greens with tofu sheet and edamame, basil fried chicken nuggets, and shredded pork stir fried noodles (on the dinner menu).
Overall, every single dish was really tasty. The slightly sweetened pumpkin porridge paired nicely with the saltiness of the dishes. The fried chicken nuggets were my favorite dish, it wasn’t greasy and it really felt like you were eating a protein. The tofu skin with spinach was also really tasty, braised really well and full of flavor, the spinach was nice and tender.
Food came out really quick as well. The furniture and décor of this place is clean, modern looking. Totally different from other vegetarian places.
Affordable prices, good sized portions. I actually really enjoyed the whole meal. I will definitely be back again.
